no i love the astral projection the way it is i just want her psybolt to take control of an enemy and make them be on her side a way for this not to be cheap is it can drain her mp bar.

I have some really good news:

1- Jhfer is making some cool smart palette for us. This is Emma Frost

Maybe I will change her moves when she is on her Black Queen palette.

2- I've been remaking the HUD of the game, to make it les BOR-ish. This is the final result:

Maybe I will use the trick of icons so the bars would be behind the the hud. When I made it, I will change the icons to shared palette.

3- On the image above, you can see Hawkeye palettes in action. The left on is his "Heroes Reborn" outfit, the other is a classic one.

Each char now have 4 palettes, and each one comes from an actual outfit of the char.
 
yeah, but somethings aren't the way I liked, like the 2nd player name and lifebar.
The name should be aligned to right and the lifebar should decrease to right, like we do in Mugen. But seams that BOR doesn't does that.

Some division on the bar, to make it less BOR-ish. And shared palette icons!
 
Sexy look on the shared palette icon and that division of the bar too. I never knew it exists. Clever. ;)
 
yeah I think I will write a tutorial about it.
Btw, I was looking at this image I think the bars (and the icons) could be a bit wider
 
Finally, Beast got his hyper move: He calls Reinforcement from his labs.
The robot fight for itself, attacking the enemies and obstacles. You can call another one once your powerbar is full again.

Plus, you can see the new HUD in action :)

What's next?
  • Fix Hawkeye's bow sprites
  • Fix Vision's sprites
  • finish Hulk's moves.
  • Fix some images at the title screen

Then I think we would release a public beta to see people reaction.
 
I think if its gonna be 2 player only then you can make the lifebars longer cause theres a lot of unused space on HUD, that redskull poster white colour is too white compared to other smaller posters next to it and stands out quite a lot, maybe try to match the colours and make it a bit scratched too.
Im wondering how that zoom effect would look like in realtime adjusting itself constantly like some snk fighting games and new mugen, it could be cool or irritating becayuse you wouldnt see as much as you would like when zoomed in for too long, but maybe for zoom out only...

Yeah, I noticed it too. The banner is easy to fix, but the HUD will take more time.

I don't like that type of zoom too much. That would be like Sega's Arabian Fight.

Its limited by his powerbar. I was going to PM you about how can I limit by script (checking if there is a entity called "beastrb") but I liked the way it is :)

Btw, I made a new intro for the game. I will make a video soon.
 
These helpers are nice additions. Any plans to allow Beast to send them some kind of instructions? There are a lot of possibilities: Regroup ,  team attacks, specific attacks,  lock attack at an specific target, suicide attack...

But it is only ideas.  Beast has a very nice gameplay already.

 
Nice ideas! That would require a lot of script.
I won't do it right now, but for a future update, I can take this into account.
 
I've been busy as hell, but I am making little improvements:

- Now the enemies doesn't walks in groups like zombies
- I am adding grab for Beast (waiting Doom to finish the sprites)
- nothing too fancy, but I changed the icons borders to be not so squared

About grab, while on the original game everybody grabs, I don't think I will use it. I can't see people like Vision doing grabs.

But this could be a problem: People like Captain America are VERY skilled on hand-to-hand combat. Would it make sense to him not grab?
 
Yes, some other chars will have grab and grab attacks, but not fancy Throws (or not throws at all) like Black Panther and Iron Fist. And there will be people with scripted slams, like Hulk, Beast, Hercules, etc. Hercules, for example, will be like King on Tekken

I asked to Doom edit more Beast frames, so he could execute some grabattacks
