ill fix that, if you look at animation 10000 times in a row you tend to be blind to some details ;D

I dont rush anything, i do have 5 games but only 2 with more than 3 stages, rest is just for me cause i wanted to, and if it takes 1 day to animate character basic animations then its not that time consuming to make simple game just for juggling with enemies.
I wanted to do he-man mod in 2008 i think, even if i would have complete game right now it doesnt really change much, nobody pays me for that so im not obliged to do it and deliver in time, ill do it as long as i have fun, for now ill make some enemies and maybe if ill get some more ill start converting them to ingame characters.

Pretty cool work, bWWd! Good to see there's interest in the project.

The illustrations look great, it's just the animations that seem a bit extreme in some instances, like with the Horde Trooper. Just my opinion.

Weeks ago I ripped some frames from the DVDs, It's pretty rough but I'll post them here anyway.

yeah i will change that trooper animation, also i think characters would have more than just one idle anim, i animated cartoon funny characters but i think with these ones animations should be more subtle.
Anyway im making big enemies sheet, can you help me to collect good enemy positions so i could draw and animate them? I would like to have most common he-man enemies, but not someone like trapjaw or beastman , i want the ones that can attack in groups like soldiers or trolls etc.
Im trying to get all enemies in this kind of pose, i also scaled them so he-man size would be proper against them :

Im going trough animation cels and episodes to get some enemies in that standing pose but head isnt totally turned left or right, just a bit like he-man.

No problem, from the ones i have which one should be made as next one? which one was on the show more often?

Great work bWWd!

I don't think I've ever seen that trooper before, must have missed some episodes :(.

Anyways, Mersox, aside from looking for enemy's animation, look for various He-Man's face expressions as well. Currently, he has same expression in all animations showed by bWWd.

Absolutely, Bloodbane. The face expressions didn't change much in the show itself though, but he he'll definitely need something different for when punching, for example.

bWWd: The Horde Troopers only appeared in She-Ra, but they appeared A LOT. The hover bot you already drew were the main evil robots in He-Man, but they didn't appear as much. In general terms, there wasn't a main soldier type bad guy in He-Man, but there are definitely various minions in the show so I'll take a look.

Because the hover bots don't walk, maybe you'd want to start with those. Might be easier.

I will change he-man face during attacks, for now i have only idle, walk and run, im not sure if he should have different head when running, maybe ill try it, i will draw a couple of heads with different mouth and all so its will be ok.
I know these are hordak men so they belong to she-ra, maybe i could find some lizards or something and merman had his own creatures , i think beastman had too, i need to find as much as possible so merman or beastman could be bosses after you beat all their men etc.

Here's some pictures of the hover robots:

A couple of "pain" frames:

This one might be useful for "die":

And a size comparison shot:

More to come...

Hmmm.... that means you need to decide how the levels would be. In cartoon series, Skeletor and his minions fights with him, and they are defeated in each fight with He-Man BUT (as in all Cartoons) they return again in next series.

If you have played Maximum Carnage, Spiderman and Venom fights Shriek and that 6 armed spiderman clone (forgot his name) more than once. However, they get stronger after each fight. Also as story progresses, more bosses join the fight.

You could do it like that or stick to Beat'm up style.

thanks for the pics, theyre useful, also if you will see what kind of attacks they perform that could help but i dont need all attack frames, just last one when it connects to understand how it looks like, i know the hover robots have their claws spinning around in some episodes.
I would like to collect as many enemies as possible especially the ones that could be used in groups, also with different types of attacks, what this weapon does ?
hordetrooperanimations.jpg

It shoots lasers. That is the "shooting" animation.

I will be going through the episodes and post the enemies/attacks as they appear.

The story of the mod could be Hordak joining forces -again- with Skeletor, that could justify the Hordak droids and make him a sandard enemy.
Another common enemy could be some kind of mutants summoned by Evil-lyn.

Agreed with 'O, that animation is goddamn funny!!!  ;D

He-Man characters guest stared on She-Ra quite a bit, and when She-Ra came out they ret-conned Skeletor into a defected member of the Horde anyway, so it wouldn't be out of the question at all to see villains from both series in a He-Man game. I say go for it.

It would also give you an excuse to make She-Ra playable, and if you have time maybe some of the other characters. I always thought most of the supporting good guys had more interesting abilities than He-Man/She-Ra anyway. You had generalized magic, blasters, giant fists, freezing abilities, sci-fi level engineering, light based powers and so on vs the eponymous characters who could uhm... hit really hard and make animals feel better.

DC

I was planning to make man-at-arms , orko, sorceress ,he-man and she-ra playable, and rest of the staff maybe at some point.

I would have to try if backgrounds from the show would work with my sprites or if i would have to redraw everything, i wouldnt use backgrounds straight from dvds , maybe for bits of sky or bits of grounds, maybe from cels and edited a bit but im afraid the black outlines wouldnt match the sprites so i would have to redraw them.

Awesome work. I vote for keeping the Filmation backgrounds. If the blacks don't go well we can just replace it with another color on Photoshop. No need to redraw them. A quick example, this:

can be turned into this:

It can be done better but you get the idea.

Regarding the name, what about "He-Man & She-Ra: Masters of Power"

(Masters of the Universe + Princess of Power)

there are some nice backgrounds that could be used , they need to be split in parts and looped so long stages could be created

Would be better to get them without characters.

hmmmm this style reminds me of laser disc they could have easily made a game out of he man in that style anyways best of luck on this
