Well, my concern was that since you don't know who the helper will target, you may end up missing your chance if it doesn't align with enemy's z level.

Its the minimum that you can do, lol. Its the same logic of arguing that you need to get close to an enemy to attack. If you know that almost all helpers will use your z position to attack, this sound logic to me. The ones that won't use your z position, will do an area attack.

So, Psylocke could pause and mind control/stun nearby enemies (not on current z position) after slicing through them.

Way too much for me, and mind control or stun will be used for other chars.

You haven't even added new stages and I am already in awe. You, White Dragon, and Zvitor go beyond these "puny" Open BoR limitations.
 
I remember a while back you wanted to darken the screen with storm...maybe you can still do that with a little lightning or rain or both with dust or papers and will kinda take attention off storm's lack of animations
 
its great how psylocke attacks enemys, ....
but i didnt liked merlin, i tink he only works like knight helper, or at a themed medieval stage.
 
I understand what you say, but Merlin is capable of that:

Merlin is capable of entering the sea of time as well, traveling many centuries into the modern day, maintain a physical disguise, and easily return to Camelot, despite physical teleportation through time is said to be the most energy-draining feat of all, more so that space or interdimensional magical travel, and even the Sorcerer Supreme Doctor Strange is said to be mystically debilitated after such a feat.

There will be (not for the next demo) a whole mode just for Camelot, since I have shitload of sprites to use :)
 
i know, i tink he dont fit to regular marvel universe.
there will be any way to identify which helper you call?
if not, everyone, which not follow your project, will not recognize him.
 
I think he should be avenger power for black knight...give him random boost and inflicts

that way even newbies will put two and two together like.......ohhh a knight ohhh a wizard that makes since
 
Well, that could be an option if its an issue.
But for helpers, unless its a char you need to unlock, almost ANY ONE from the Marvel universe can appear. The only rule is: It can't be a villian.

So any of the thousands of variations of Avengers groups (Uncanny, New, West Cost, Great Lake, etc) can appear, X-Men, X-Factor, X-Force, Guardians of the Galaxy, etc are eligible

Boring Amer...ops, Captain America is done too.
He does a 3 hit attack - jumps striking with the shield, uses Shield Crash (throws the shield), and finish with Charging Stars (dashes with the shield)

And I had improved the helper's codes:

- Checks if the choosen helper is not playing. If yes, chooses another one.

- If no, blocks the player 2 to join the game until he is gone. Player 2 will be able to choose the characters if he press start, but won't be able to join until the helper is on the screen.

- Sets himself/herself/itself as a NPC, so the enemies won't ignore the helpers anymore and will try to hit them.

To not push the release date too far away, I will code something like 10 more helpers and I will stop. So I can work in other things.  ;)

While I am not working on this project for a while, there is something which was already done, take a look:

Deathlok helper - Does multiple shoots in both directions

(I am aware of the cuttted thunder sprite, its the way it is in Golden Axe Revenge of Death Adder. I will edit it when I return to this)
