LOVE IT!!!!!!!!! But I can't get any credit for the mousers. I downloaded those from a website. I think it was called Sprite Resource or something like that. Anyway, I love everything about this video. Very impressive stuff!

Thanks!

BTW here's a newer video of the building stage:

That is realy impressive work you did there, but I have two little suggetions, could you add a script that makes the player characters walk into the door of Aprils Room like in the Original Game? I think it would make the transition between the levels look more natural.

The other one is a minor detail but could you move the location of the mouser hole in the boss stage? maybe more to the desk or a little bit down? Because it looks kind of odd in combination with the hole and the entrance of the Drill Transporter.

Btw. Your Rocksteady looks awesome.  ;D

Man I cant w8 for some of these mods to come out, I just can't.
Looks awesome dude keep it up ^^
Just a question, how many levels do you plan to have in the final release ?

Thanks!

I don't know how to do that. Back when I was working on Groundchuck I tried doing something like that and I got nowhere. Wasted so many hours on it. In the end I "cheated" and got him to go to the place I wanted him to go to get the pipe, but I can't do the same for the bulgding stage.
If someone would like to provide a script for that I would gladly add it to the game, but right now I don't want to tackle that myself. It would take too much time that I would rather use on other more critical aspects of the game.

I agree with you 100%, I have already fixed that issue. BTW that glitch didn't happen during testing, but it happened when I recorded the video. You know how it is :P

AWESOME!. i love it!. many quality details even when is a remake of the smaller console versions. :)

but very well done, with details of quality and originality here and there. this demo looks really really promising, just as the tmnt ss bor demo aswell.

i was really surprised for get new and very original characters after complete one stage.

yeah, the bosses cant have more attacks since their sprites limitations as enemies, but man... that april, that monalisa... are amazing!. so cute and original.
i love they!. even with the original voices from the show!. whoa!. :)

if a simple demo with only 3 stages, comes with playable vehicles... playable bosses... and all those little but cool details... this will means that the complete game will be cool yes or yes. :)

ps:
----
what memories the platform stages with the awesome tmnt 1 & 2 game boy games music.

saddly, their 3rd part was terryfing harder... it tooks me 4 years after discover one day, that the only way for finish it was change the turtles during the different shreddder attacks on the final battle. :P

oh my god, im still remenber how harder was that game. :P :(

but the previous gb games, specially "tmnt 2 back to the sewers", was legendary as contra or super mario land.

ps:
----
why do you hate michael bay? LOL

i means... well, i dint saw the original 80s, transformers cartoon show, but their modern movies not was so terryfing.

they can have their fails, but at least for me, the true absolute crap movies are the resident evil ones. sure much worst than transformers or any else other movie (man of steel included. for me is absurd and boring in the same way). :P

or in a sentence: "Paul w. anderson sucks". :P

greetings ;)

and congratulations for a definitivelly cute and very original turtles mod.

the chars unlock screen remenbers me to the toys. saddly i losed mostly of them due to my mother. :(. good memories with those cute and really awesome toys. ;)

by the way...
the passed "feria de abril" holidays, here in seville (spain), i buyed a bootleg pack of the 4 tmnt from the 1991 movie. hehe

they was completelly pirate, but demons... they was very very well done.
created by a modern 3d copier maybe? i really dont know. :P

greetings ;)

ps:
---
man, why you punish all us giving only... a damn 1 single life!!!? and with no continues!... :P  LOL.

EDIT: anda... pero ¿hablas español?. sorpresa... XD

gabotico, i also played your game this weekend. using the same engine bor than this palooza one.

i like it, but i think you should fix a big problem that exist with the double button attack and the jump. cause when you push the 2 buttons for perform the special, many times ocurs a bug, and it tries to do the jump kick instead.

that is a very nasty bug that ruins the game.

for the rest, i know is a wip. but as i always said in ths cases... you should add something different in there.

try to add a new playable char at least. for example shredder. cause if not, it will be only a port of the original tmnt 2 nes game, with only new colours for the turtles and the tmnt 3 specials.

however, it is included something more new... as the possibility of play as some bad guy, splinter, casey jones, or any bosses playable, then the game will have much more interest for us. being more cool. believe me. ;)

ps:
----
splinter will be awesome. i remenber when some idiot lie about a false splinter cheat for tmnt2 nes game, wich appeared on the mame history info after selectin the playchoice10 game version. but of course, was a nasty fake.

will be great have splinter playable for real... :P

@miguelo777: Dude! That "bug" is actually something that I haven't figured yet. Instead of pressing attack + jump, you press jump while holding the attack button. As for the attacks, I added two attacks from Turtles in Time, and I gave the turtles the ability to run, so it's not just a TMNT2 port with TMNT3 attacks. I am also all done with Casey Jones and I´m currently working on April and at some point I´m going to add Splinter. If you check my recent posts I´m also working on some Gang members from the 1987 cartoon. I already added Human Bebop and Human Rocksteady and I´m also gonna add extra levels but, that´s gonna take longer since I´ve gotta make those levels from scratch instead of ripping the backgrounds from NES. I appreciate your feedback but trust me, I´m NOT making a TMNT2 remake. TMNT2 is only a base game for my MOD.

Gabotico, sorry pal. is truth. ;) you also included the run for the 4 turtles apart of the tmnt3 specials and the recoloured sprites for the chars.

but you know what i means... ;) there are many "competence" outhere.

like for example this awesome tmnt palooza remake. and you know... is harder can offer something intertesting than others dont do before.

thats why i say that about the extra chars. (the other option, is directly menacing with death to mersox (LOL) for he will not continue his mod and stop... ;)  on a pure "mafia/gansters style".... LOL)  ;D ;D

but hey!, you definitivelly surprises me with that cool chars stuff you said. :)

also, obviously, everyone that knows me, know that i value always a lot the fan works.  :)

i know people could have their tastes. or that some works are better or more complete than others... but anyway i value with justice them. loving what fans make for free just for share it with others. ;)

apart, is clear that mersox have a very good and talented spriter there.
my sincere congratulations for his works. that april, that mona lisa. oh my god!. gabotico pal, is hard "compete" againts this!. :P

but anyway, there also exist other very good spriters outhere that can help you too pal. ;)

ps:
---
a little offtopic but... about human bebop and rocksteady.  i would like to ask you.. what do you think about tmnt forever movie? :P

what a punch in the face of the fans? huh?.  ???

i means, as a tmnt fan, i watched their 3 cartoons shows. and i love the 3 being completelly different.

but you remenbered me that stupid part in the movie... where appears human bebop and rocksteady after they all get back to the 80s turtles world trought the portal.  but what the hell?... ¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?

that only means, that the responsible of that movie, never watched a SINGLE chapter of these 80 turtles. :P

they just attack they, copied their draw style for the movie, and then ended doing this complete stupid non sense scene. among so many others just like that. and plus continuosly ALL THE TIME!.  :P :(

well... everyone knows, that the only moment when bebop and rocksteady was humans, was on the first episodes!. C,MON!! :P

conclusion: a very good idea, but a REALLY stupid and TOTALLY disrespectful script.  and too much stupid for me. :P :(

cause they represent the tmnt80 turtles, just as completelly stupid retarded turtles!. and all the DAMN time!. saying stupid sentences mostly of the time.

when the 80 turtles never was like that. nothing at all!.

they could was more comical... more for child. alright... but they not was SO stupid.  right pal? :P

is that everytime i remenber that movie, i cant forget or forgive that shit... :P :(

greetings ;).

and good luck with the mods to gabotico and mersox. i will look forward for they guys!. ;)  :D

gabotico, just a thing more i forgot...

since your sprites take less space on the game for be the originals stages on the nes, and with smaller chars... maybe the offer with your game can be, have not only these extra chars, also have the 2 games into one.

i means, something as the 3 nes games mix idea of mersox, but joining directly the stages of the tmnt2 and tmnt 3 games.

it will not take so many space on your bor mod. and if you dont like this, then you can too split this into 2 game modes: tmnt2 and tmnt3 nes remakes.

it can be really interesting...

however, the map feature is also is. so you can add too a mode where you can freely select the stages of one of the 2 games joined. and unlock the chars the same way than appear on this mersox mod. cause is very interesting.

in fact, personally i think that do a mod with smaller chars, is an interesting idea.

cause allows you to add much more things... stages and chars. due to the lower space or memory taken, that if they was at normal size. ;)

ps:
----
guys do you know/tried  these other true jewels nes games?

"monster in my pocket" (this game must was on arcades!) and "toki". an incredible well done nes version of this clasic arcade game.

in fact, i always thought that is incredible how with only 8 bits, they could do this tmnt2 game and many others very good games. :)

so good as this tmnt2 nes game. that even today, the fangamers do their remakes on bor. ;)

greetings

Well, miguelo777, I would like to continue this conversation but not on this thread. Perhaps, we can switch to mine. TMNT2 for the NES was, at least visually, better than TMNT3 but, the gameplay I thought was better on TMNT3. Also, it is not my intention to do a remake but to have to modes (maybe more). The first mode would be a TMNT2-like mode and then an extra mode, that´s where you can play as the other characters and also play the "extra" levels. Human Bebop and Rocksteady would make an appearance at the very beggining of the "extra" mode, before they´re mutated by Shredder. I was thinking of recreating that scene from the 1987 cartoon with the Channel 6 Van in the background and everything. Please, if you wish to continue to talk about my MOD we SHOULD switch to the thread I started (TMNT 8-bit "recolored") instead of this one.

Yes, Hothead is in the game. As a matter of fact I am recoloring him now and will be available in the next demo.

Sí hablo español :)

Thank you for your comments. I just beat the 3rd gameboy game for the first time ever a couple of months ago, ans I had to cheat using savestates each time I entered a boss area. The game is extremely hard and the fact that it's not really fun to play adds to the difficulty (because what's the point of mastering a game you don't enjoy?)

I don't hate Michael Bay but I stongly dislike all of his work, even The Rock which is supposed to be his one good movie. I freely admit that I enjoy the crappy Resident Evils over anything that Bay has ever done.

The final game should have continues. I took them out of the demo for a reason, but right now I can't remember what it was! I think it was related to a bug of some kind. The final game should have them, and if not, at least it will have more lifes.

merso, that of the toys vehicles, remenbered me the baxter fly and their last invent on the tv series, the spider vehicle.

i could even buy that spider one not so long ago, but for some raison i dont do it.

however, time after, and before the tmnt12 version appeared, the toys shop of my neighborhood was many tmnt old toys. but none of the turtles, mostly was their rare enemies. from shredder to baxter stockman fly. and that time yes, i buyed one of those baxters cause my mother send almost all my old tmnt80 classic toys to the trash. :P

maybe you could make appear both of them... that spider vechicel that in fact appeared on a tv chapter, and also the baxter stockman normal and fly, who appeared on those nes games. (well, im not too sure normal baxter appeared on the tmnt nes games, but yes the fly in tmnt2 nes game version).

greetings ;)

WoooooHooo finally. Thanks man will try it asap.

Edit.

Loving every second of it, gj on the story intro and all the little nods to the show.

I have only 1 gripe, the van level, when we fall of it shouldn't take a life, maybe a portion of the health bar.Or maybe I just suck :D

A suggestion, bump up the bor engine, just so we can use 2xsai filter and its PERFECT.

Thank you for your work, its awesome keep it up !!!

Yeah, that intro was especially delightful.  Old-school at its best, I tell ya what!  It even provided an explanation as to why bosses become playable after defeating them!

Thank you, PeXXeR. I have had that same fedback before. I'll see if I can do something about it. In the meantime, here's a tip: don't jump during that stage. When you are jumping, any hit you take will make you fall back. It won't happen it you have your feet on the ground (or roof in this case). Even the turtles' attack+jump move should be avoided.

Thank you, man! For the prologue I asked a talented guy named Alexx to punch up the dialogue. He has a very funny blog about action figures (non TMNT related) called "Toys and Tomfoolery" (http://toysandtomfoolery.blogspot.ca/)

I reapeat that this game is of professional features!!
I really like the intro and the new level landfill (and even the bonus level).
Beautiful sprites of rocksteady!
Beautiful the idea of being able to use the mother-mousers!!
Ah I found the following bugs:
1) Rocksteady can not stick guns in the ship level.
2) When you fall into the pit with large characters there are wrong offsets.
3) When you finish the level of channel 6 there are random crashes.
4) I dont really like the movement on the map.

Thank you very much my friend, for the comments and the bugs report.
1) had no idea about this. Thanks.
2) It happened to me twice and I thought I fixed it but it seems it's still there. I'll look into it. For the moment I have no clue as to what's causing it.
3) You mean the April's building level? I haven't experienced this crash. I'll appreciate it if you could share a bit more information about it. Perhaps a copy of the last lines of the log?
4) Me neither. I'll work on it more for a future release.

Another HUGE bug is when another player joins in the middle of a stage (instead of the select screen or the map). Then the game automatically selects the smaller turtles that are seen in  the map (which is funny), and if you attempt to play like this, the game crashes. I wish I could just prevent players from joining during a stage, that would be the simplest solution, I think. This one and the map movement I already have devoted hours and hours trying to fix, but gave up for the time being. Hopefully I'll go "ooooh, I know" at some point before the game is completed.
