Kratus updated Streets of Rage X (Windows / Android) with a new update entry:

### BETA 31 ###
- Minor adjustment in the SOR3 Axel rage move.
- Minor fixes/improvements in some level sprites.
- Added a minor delay at the beginning of each level to avoid calling cops during the stage presentation or level fade effect, preventing some wrong spawns too.
- Fixed the infinite walking loop near a hole for enemies, preventing them from stucking in levels like SOR1 st4a or SOR2 st1a.
- Max update, added "Hulk" like palette.
- SOR2 Max update, added a new counter attack.

Beta 30 skate 3

1 to 30 seconds -why can’t skate hit with the last 2 hits of his normal attack combo? During flip kick animation.

34 seconds skate similar spot as 38 seconds in video to hit people off the wall.
But at 38 seconds skate misses Mr X.

I’m aware that I moved down a little bit after I used defensive special so i might have been on the right lvl to hit him.

According to the video, these missed hits sometimes are related to juggle limits, and others related to the small collision boxes.

Considering the amount of combo Sammy does, it can drain the opponent's juggle points really fast. In the case of the collision boxes, Sammy has small ones in some attack moves, but I can check and maybe make some improvements to a better collision.

I had on infinite OTG and Juggles on. srry I forgot to add that.

I also get a game crash in V31 when I try to play boss rush.
Edit - In survival mode is where the game crashes.

In this case it's related to Sammy's attack boxes, I will check it.

Just for curiosity. Usually I wait a little until enemies go down a bit in order to guarantee that all the default combo will hit. If you press buttons too quickly after putting an enemy into a knockdow state, certain characters with smaller body boxes will not take damage.

I can resize the attack boxes a bit to improve the collision, commonly I follow the sprite size but I can open an exception for this case.

Did some tests and confirmed that this is a minor path issue since the level background is based in the Abadede's ring.
But due to the new stadium level added recently, the Ring was renamed from st4d to st4e but I forgot to rename the paths for the Survival mode.

I rewatch my gameplay and i am going as fast as the game will let me attack but Lisa hits the ground before skate can get his flip kick comes out.

In the this screen shot skate is in this pose for about 4 frames. Skate.JPG





When the 5th frame he starts his flip kick by that time Lisa is on the ground on the 5th frame.

After analysing the code I saw that the juggle/otg for "players only" is not too hard to be added, in this case I can open an exception.
Usually I avoid making updates in big systems that are already tested and consolidated because it may require a lot of rework, but it's not the case.

Now you can play using juggle/otg for players only in the next update, I will upload the new file soon.
PS: This change does not affect the recent Electra/Galsia balance changes I did.

Had a bug when installing Beta 31 for android. I uninstalled the old build prior, after installing the android volume UI was not showing during the SoRX app menu running. Also when i changed the touch control layout, the key presses didn't respond correctly; pressing one of them lowered the volume! Anyways after an app restart it was perfectly fine. Not experiencing any other bug from the initial setup.
@SRC267 About this issue, after some investigation I believe it's related to the loading at the game's startup. Due to the long loading time, sometimes the screen didn't refresh properly and stuck.
I reworked the loading system and broke it into small parts, now it's distributed between the opening, title screen and level loading.

PS: This update solves the latest issues found and optimizes some process.
 
For those that are playing SORX in the Steam Deck and launching directly through the Big Picture, in the beta 31 I added all the necessary imagens.


In case you want to launch from the Emulation Station using the SORX Linux version, just move the SORX folder to "roms/openbor/" folder and rename the game folder with the AppImage extension.
In short, it will be like this (the first SORX.AppImage is the folder's name, and the second is the executable):

roms/openbor/SORX.AppImage/SORX.AppImage

In this system you can rename folders with the exact name of the file you want to run/read directly (including the extension), plus it forces the EmulationStation to show only one instance of the game instead of adding both folders/executable in the game list (since they will be treated as a unique thing).

Thanks for your feedback and all playthroughs, they are helping a lot. Glad that the problems are all solved :)

I know that sometimes I can be a bit resistant to making certain changes and it may cause some heated discussions 😅, but considering the game size/complexity I really need to filter the changes that are really necessary, like the ones made on Skate.

This is why usually I like to talk about the feedback posted to better understand the player's points and sometimes explain how the game works originally, just to guarantee that people really played/tested the game properly and all the suggested changes make sense.
