Streets of Rage X (Windows / Android)

In Progress Streets of Rage X (Windows / Android) Beta 32

The project is currently under development.
Thanks a lot, friend :)

I haven't tested the latest version, but I was playing on the sor1 route at the very last level and if you get the knife and hit an enemy near the wall, you can juggle him until death
Thanks buddy :) , I will readjust all the jugglecost values in all weapon attacks. I know that the juggle cost of the most common knife attacks are small due to the small damage amount too (enough to kill low health enemies), but I can increase the cost to reduce the juggle capability a bit.

In the previous betas there's an extra juggle points subtraction each time a juggled opponent bounces against any wall/screen edge, but I removed it in the latest version for balance purposes due to some enemy juggle capability reduction (Galsia, Electra, etc).

However, maybe it would be better to put the bounce subtraction back again, preventing juggle abuse if near a wall/screen edge.

Now we only need the SOR1 bad ending *wink wink* :D

@Kratus, there's a plot prompt for the rebellion mode! 😁

"Well, looks like Max just walked through the entire syndicate army, broke Abadade's over his knee, suplexed Shiva into next week, took Mr. X to defenestration nation, grabbed the throne for himself and bought off the last remaining government holdouts.

Oh, apparently he's also hired Blaze, Axel, Skate, and Adam for bodyguards.

We need a new hero... it's all up to you Galsia! You can do it!"

DC

Something I noticed last time I played; both Blaze's basic knife attacks are 'wrong'. In the originals, the initial stab does not knock the enemy down, allowing the second (overhead swing) to hit and knock them down. But in SoR X, the initial stab knocks the enemy down, which makes the following overhead swing kinda useless because it can't hit them.

Might be an intentional design choice but just thought I'd point it out in case it was an oversight.

I also wondered if there were plans to have the bottle function the way it does in SoR 1? Currently, it's just a thrown item, but in the original, it could be swung like a regular weapon, after which it breaks and functions as a knife. I kinda miss being able to smash a bottle over enemies heads, lol, so was hoping that eventually the bottle would function the way it used to.

Yeah, I will make it during the SOR1 heroe's development :)

Good plot haha. Now the Syndicate's hope is in the hands of the most powerful warrior, Knife Galsia 🤣

I didn't check but maybe you are remembering of SOR Remake. I checked the classics and SORX is following correctly.

SOR2 Blaze knife

SOR3-BK3 Blaze Knife

SORX Blaze2 / Blaze3 knife

I can think about following the original in future updates. I didn't add before because the old weapon system required an entirely new spritesheet for every weapon, plus the bottle weapon will require two extra characters (normal/broken), adding a lot of work.

Now that the new weapon system uses a separate model for weapons, it would be easier to add new weapon models since all of them use the same structure, just changing the current weapon held.

Jeez, I could've sworn SoR 2 Blaze in X was knocking enemies down with the knife's first stab. My brain's useless. Sorry for the false report :/

I had forgotten SoR 3 Blaze's basics was different with the knife to SoR 2's.

No problem buddy. To be honest, if I'm not wrong I fixed it recently, probably one or two builds after the SOR2 Blaze development.

There's two SOR3 bad endings, one is triggered by not saving the general at the stage 6 and the other is triggered by killing Neo X after the bomb countdown ends at the stage 8.

Thank you. I know the General dying triggers the mystery/bad ending but I remember in the older beta versions, the main bad ending was determined by if you stopped the missle hitting the capsule or not?
That's why at the end of my run, I deliberately ran away to see if it would. 😅

I could be wrong but I think Blaze 2's knife attack is based on proximity in the originals?
In order to get the 3 hits you had to be quite close up compared to if you attacked at arms length. Will test it later to see.

Update: Just tested Streets 2 & she can seem to do 2 hits at about arms length but 3 close by. It's a bit weird but the only knockdown seems to happen if enemy dies.
Streets 3 definitely seems to have done away with the 3 hits for some strange reason. 💁🏾‍♂️

It would be hilarious if Rebellion was a hidden game mode unlocked by getting the bad ending in SOR1. That's the type of ideas that made old games so much fun to discover lol

Yeah 😅 I saw it. I changed this bad ending some time ago, now it follows the original with the bomb timer.

I even thought of following the SOR2 Blaze way in the SOR3 version, but I ended up leaving the original way.
However I can maybe adjust the opponent's falling distance to allow at least 2 hits using juggles in the SOR3 version.

Yeah, certainly. I have some ideas to test in this aspect after finishing at least the main content.

Street of Rage 2 path - No Death - Mania- 3 to 4 players enemies - Blaze - v30

Thanks a lot, buddy :)
