Hi again, could someone please tell me if there's a recent version of this game? There're many new things I saw in this thread and I want to play it. But I was browsing the resources section and I haven't found the most recent version. Is it possible to play it right now? Thanks in advance.

Oh, and for suggestions...a new bonus stage akin to the volleyball mode I saw somewhere...but with galsias? Best juggler wins!
 
Sorry, I know that I didn't post too many videos about SORX but this is due to a huge sprite rework. Currently I'm doing many fixes on most of them, converting every single image file from *.gif to *.png format and reapplying all palettes one by one.

After deciding to use the BKM sprites, I stopped the SOR1 character's progress a little because this rework will make the creation process easier and faster. Everything now is a lot more organized, plus I have new tools to manage sprites easier by using *.png format instead of using *.gif.

During the rework I added the SOR2/3 remaining playable characters, once all of them already have other versions to use as base. They are Galsia, Donovan, Signal, Kusanagi from SOR2 and McBride, Maclean, Rocket from SOR3.

In addition, now every route will only use the proper enemy version instead of using the SOR3 version as default for all levels.



Hello @afhc2x17 , sorry for the late reply. The latest version of the SOR2X is the v2.3.1 and you can download it here.
This game changed the name and has a new version called SORX, which includes the SOR1 route and many other changes. It will have a different structure and will start from v1.0 again.
 
Thanks for letting some free spaces for prototype or custom characters 😊. There are some cool SOR1 unreleased characters that I wish add to the list like playable, beta enemies, mid boss and boss. Congratulations for the clean work and permit to have Sor2 and Sor3 sprites.

I like the progress! I like the idea to have accurate enemies in matching game modes/stages.
We still can go crazy mixing up with SOR3 in "extra modes" I think :)

And Yes, I feel the same here!
I still have some plans for a custom playable character based on Garnet...
When I'll have more time.
(The good thing with Sor sprites is they are not extremely hard to edit/tweak into something new/custom)
 
Now the original Adam's colors are back, together with a new "super" move too. In fact these colors are now closer to the sprites created by Daors, who is the original author of this character.

The new sound effects code had good progress and there's only a few things to finish. Now you will be able to change the sound effect type, but I will show this feature working on another video.

Finally, after a few months coding, I finished the script that allows players to change the sound effect type in the game.

Along the development, I extracted all original sounds again (I mean all s.e. and voices too) from the original roms to guarantee the best quality and fidelity possible to the original games (the same goes for the original musics too).

At the moment the new option changes only the main hit and attack sounds, once most of the others are the same for all SOR trilogy. The voices and level elements remain the same according to every original content, with exception of some really bad or missing sounds.

If you choose the "original" option, it will change nothing. In case you change the SOR3 option for example, except for some shared samples (like pipe hit), all SOR3 characters will remain untouched but the SOR2 ones (like Max) will be adapted according to a "conversion table". The same happens for the other options, and so on...

There's only a few volume adjustments to be finished but I already started to work on musics. We will have some great changes in this aspect, stay tuned :)

 
I really like where it goes...
The only thing I worry a bit is considering the advanced mechanics/coding. I would never have the skills to contribute with a custom character in the future. (beside of the actual spriting part) :D

The game didn't have a release date yet, but certainly it will be this year.

About the mechanic, although there's many new features, the scripts now are more automated. Once you use another character as base, you will need to do a few adjustments in some events only.

About your ideas, they are interesting, thanks for the feedback.

Time limit: Good idead, I already added this option on SORX a few months ago
Enemy/Boss life: Currently, the difficulty controls both life amount and A.I. for enemies and bosses. I don't know how the game pacing would be in case I separate it, but I will think about this idea.
