martial arts

A few photos taken of karate demonstration I've performed last week, the karate demo was for school intake so we can have new students, we've preformed in 4 schools so it's 4 days straight, quite tiring but managed to complete it

Nice! nunchuks?
Isn't Karate the art of empty hand ?
I never seriously practiced budo, I'm into Wushu/Kung-Fu mostly.
My grandmaster has teaching kobudo, the art of traditional japanese weapons including nunchucks, tonfa, bo staff, sickles, sai & katana

My teammate in picture who uses nunchucks, he used to learn wushu before join karate, weapons art & combat are his favorites

That's a solid background, sorry to hear about the tendon injury, that’s a tough way to go out. I’ve spent some time on the mats myself, mostly focusing on Jiu Jitsu and a bit of Muay Thai. It’s definitely a different game when you have to work around physical limitations; I’ve had to dial back the high kicks and explosive movements because of some nagging joint issues, so I tend to stick more to the technical, ground-based stuff these days. It’s a bummer when the body doesn't keep up with the spirit, but even if you're "retired," that muscle memory from Judo and wrestling never really leaves you.
