I've working on this game here and there and here are some news :)

Now we have another stage (image above). This stage is accessible right after the 3rd stage at Maggia's ship, where you will be able to choose which path to follow.  One door leads to that dark corridor, other leads to the new area (wip).

I am fine tunning Spider-Woman and I honestly loved the result! Both modes feels different and the web mode (which I doesn't liked before) now offers a great gameplay value. She gave me a nightmare to code, but I am proud of what I did :)

I should do a Spider-Woman trailer soon, once my work load gets lower.

It's not a full route, it's more like an alternative room. Both leads to the same place where you fight with Madam Masque. But in one of those, there will be a *special*  guest.

I managed to fix some errors (finally!):

  • Emma's mind control now lasts until the entity dies. Blocking or entering in diamond form breaks the control. Now she is WAY more useful :)
  • Emma's mind control now works against human bosses. But instead of controlling them, they get paralized for a while.
  • Luke Cage SHOULD not hurt the players anymore
  • Fixed Tigra's riseattack and her Hellcat palettes were improved (specially the one with red hair)
  • Improved the game RAM usage. From 140MB down to 96MB. I will try to reduce it even more, but I don't think it will be playable again in PSP (64MB RAM) or even WII (88MB RAM).

Oh, by the way, Spider-Woman's web mode with black suit is Spider-Girl (Araña). I will fix her hair color.






 
Good news: The bug I've mentioned before is fixed! Really thanks, Bloodbane! Now everything works perfectly.

Plus, some improvements:

  • Beast has a new combo ender - a slash attack - to make him more feral. Also, he has new voices for some attacks. Thanks Doom for the edit and Jhfer for the smartpal, as usual :)
  • Vison can hold the block button to remain intangible. But he can't attack while in this mode and this costs a little power each second.
  • Emma Frost has new effects, a new riseattack, new respawn animation (where she hits everyone near her) and an emergency mode - she will turn into Diamond Form at her will once she has low health

I will try to record a new video today with my son (because here is Father's day). Happy father's day for all my friends :)

Father's day special gameplay and Spider-Woman preview: me (Spider-Woman) and my son Enzo (Beast/Wolverine) playing the first two stages.

What is new?

* One more playable character: Spider-Woman,, with two modes (web in first stage, venom in the second one)
* New moves tips appears during the stage
* Beast's new voices and attack

There is no pheromones attack on Spider-Woman venom mode? Or is it too cheap and unbalanced? Over all, really love the preview..
 
That was my first idea. But there are two problems with this:
- she isn't using it too often on the comics
- the move could be very unbalanced. My idea was to reset the enemies aggression and even set their "hostile" setting, to be more passive.

Maybe I will revisit this on the future.

Spider Man will be seen eventually. But I think after Spider-Woman the next chars are Falcon, Black Widow, Hercules, Ant-Man (Pym), and Colossus.

It's the question I get the most and the most I answer :)

Falcon, Black Widow, Hercules, Ant-Man (Pym), and Colossus.
The next character will be Black Widow, because she is a must have and many people had requested her. But she will be reserved for the next release, or she would outshine all my work in Spider-Woman. Then I will code Iron Fist, Hercules and Falcon I suppose.

What is new?

• STAGE CLEAR animation + voice
• New graphics for the boxes (now they are metal boxes)
• Code optimization - game consumes less RAM
• General Optimization - The game has more content but is lighter than the previous release

I am giving the game the final touches before the next update. Here are some news:

- Now all flyers characters will not lose a life when falling on holes. Instead, they will lose some health and escape from it. But you have to control the character or it will fall on the hole again. If the character doesn't have enough health, it will lose a life.

- Namor had some improvements. The spins has a better effect thanks to Gate

- His projectile now last longer, has more effects and won't fail as much as on the previous release

If everything goes well, the next update will be release in 2 weeks or less ;)
 
Thanks buddy.

Video showing the flyer characters escaping from holes. Now Quicksilver can recover when falling from the Truck stage! Instead of losing a life, he will lose some health and appear at the corner left, chasing the truck then jumping back to it!

For sure, this happens only:
- if he has enough health
- Only on this stage. On normal holes, he will die normally.
