@O
How is that character I made for you awhile back any plans to add her in???  Great job on the game my friend :)

I can't wait to see how Nightcrawler plays. I loved him in First Alliance 2/Infinity War, especially teleporting freely everywhere and the teleporting flying kicks and stuff. He was just sadly quite weak against the threat of the game.

Will Nightcrawler and Scarlet Witch be in the coming release or are they too early in development?

I was curious about how much would be in the new release in terms of stages and stuff. Have we seen all the stages in screenshots or are there a few that we won't see until we play? I hope so. That would be exciting.

Thanks for all your hard work to make these characters and stages be so detailed and faithful ^_^

Are you talking about *that* girl? It's on my plans. Maybe I will change somethings, but yeah ;)

Thanks for the constant support  and for the nice words :)

My plans is to add both Nightcrawler and Scarlet Witch to the next release, alongside Iron Fist and Hercules, as playable characters. MAYBE there will be some surprises too.
Yes, there will be more stages than I have shown until now. But I don't plan to spoil all the surprises ;)

We will have 2 extra chapters, confirmed. If possible, I will add more.

Right now, there are some things which are holding me back a little:

- My lack of free time
- A bug found on the burn effect (and, maybe, in OpenBOR per se)
- The water stage, which makes me to code one additional mode for every playable character
- The lack of a stable release of OpenBOR. I want to update my game, which still uses  4432 build, to a newer build. But 4432 was the last stable release with both Windows and Android working fine.

Scarlet Witch's costumes are ready - I've helped Jhfer to make the smartpal and he made all the costumes:

From left to right:
Classic - Force Works - Scarlet 11 - Age of X - Sorcerer Supreme - Universe X

That's amazing news. I was worried it'd be a long time before I got to see Nightcrawler in action.

I have no idea what to expect for 'surprise' characters. It would be exciting to just have "you unlocked X character" appear on screen and have no idea that they were in the game.

My friend loves Scarlet Witch so he'll be really happy too :) I know he wants Doctor Strange playable too though, haha.

Scarlet Witch costumes look great but her default looks far too bright in comparison. Almost neon-ish. I think maybe it needs to be toned down a little, or the other outfits need to be a little brighter/more colourful to balance a little.  Might just be my eyes though, lol.

No, you are right.  I've noticed it too.
Her classic costume came from the first version of the edit, like years ago. All the others were made recently. I will tone it down, to match the other costumes.

About Doctor Strange, I would love to have him as a playable too. But maybe it won't be possible :(

I couldn't resist editing her default palette, lol. I sent you a few versions ^_^. Hopefully it's ok and helps to save you some time.

Thanks for the help! I got it, I think I will use the first option.

I can't wait to code Nightcrawler. He is so cool.
And I worried a lot about Scarlet Witch. To balance her, between not being herself (like they did on the movies) and to broke the game, its very hard...

Here's another playthrough for you guys:

This time with Spider-Woman, looking forward to playing with Nightcrawler bro thanks for the updates!!!

Can't wait to see Scarlett Witch and Nightcrawler in action! Via their potential, they seem to be very different from the others.

Ilu, could you tell me what do the parameters (Strenght, Defense...) exactly refer to, please? I don't really understand why a character like Black Cat has a amount of points very low in comparison with some other chars. Is there a balance between them? If so, how ?

@ O Ilusionista

No problem bro, looking forward towards the next updates!!  I plan to do a playthrough with all the characters eventually!!

At least, it's on my plans. Scarlet Witch will me a AoE character, and eve her normal attakcs will have a great range.

Sure, take a look:

I use, in most of times, the stats featured at Marel Wikia.

STR - Strenght - How much damage will be dealth when the character attacks. In some cases, it's not the brute force, but other type of force, like Emma's case. As you can see here, Black doesn't have super human strenght, but a "peak human". " In fact, her strength is increased to the maximum of human potential, enabling her to lift approximately 800 lbs with maximum effort."

The base or middle ground for strenght is Captain America, which has STR 3. But right now, reading it again, they had change the strength value for both characters, so Black Cat should need to have the same strenght of Cap, since both aren't super human characters. Plus, many of Black Cat's attacks has Slash properties, which inflicts more damage against human enemies.

Default to 3. Hulk is 6, which means his attacks causes 60% more damage than the base value (a simple punch inflicts 10 of damage, but Hulk's one cause 20*1.6 = 32).

DEF - Deffense - How much damage they can withstand. Defaut to 3 (1.0). Hulk has 5 (0.45) which means he will receive only 45% of the attack power.

LIFE - How much Health the characters have.
1 120
2 160
3 200
4 240
5 280
6 320

POW  - POWER - How much MANA the character has. The more mana they have, the more special moves they can execute, but the more the hyper move will cost. Hulk has 2 (60), Iron Fist has a whooping 6 (320).

SPD - SPEED - The fast a character can move.
1 8
2 10
3 12
4 14
5 16
6 18

RNG- RANGE How far away a character can hit.

Good news - The burn bug is gone :)

Thanks for the precisions!

But about the balance, do I have to understand that Black Cat's lack of points (only 16) is counterbalanced enough by her skills?

Are you talking about her speed/agility? She is quite agile. And she has an exclussive Passive Skill:
Probability Field Manipulation - Black Cat, at random, will be invincible while she is idle or walking.
In fact, she is invincile if she is near an enemy, while in both animations.

Talking about the balance itself, we are talking about Super Heroes, which are originally unbalanced. For sure I work to try to give some balance, but some characters are unbalance naturally.

Okay, thanks, I think you answered my question. I get you search a compromise (to integrate large differences beatween heroes in comics while keeping a pleasant gameplay) rather than the perfect balance. Therefore some chars are a little weaker than others.

Because there isn't a perfect balance between the characters per se, in comics  :D
For example, Hulk and Black Cat aren't on the same level and it would be very strange otherwise.

My main focus is to make the chacters close to their HQ versions and as unique as I can. "Perfect balance" would render the characters just a different skin from each other, something I hate.

No, I precise that when I say "perfect balance", I mean obtaining a variety between chars but without relative cheated chars in the roster. Akuma, in the story (scenario), is meant to be more stronger than almost all the street fighters, I suppose, but the programmers decrease a lot his stamina to reach the perfect balance.
IOW, I just wonder if there are some chars in your game which make the level easier or harder.

Oh yeah. It's the same I did with Hulk, for example. His MP is very low.

Yes, for sure there are. I even planned to include a EASY, NORMAL and HARD tag over the characters at the select screen, but this could prevent people of trying other characters, so I let them find it for themselves.

Hulk and Red Hulk makes the game easy, as you may guess. Quicksilver (with his speed) and Brand (with her guns) can make it easy too, but they are hard to controll, for example.
