I meant he would need to be challenging to players to doing defense, dodging, counterattacking or block, or whatever is challenging. Now that I think about it, it would've been overpowered if it were to do that too much I guess? Also, I thought he had no attacks. I didn't notice he was attacking when I first watched it until I watched it again. My bad. I was wrong. Looks like he can be challenging in a fight. ;)

I agree with maxman, Bloodsucker doesn't act like a boss. You need to update hiss AI so he would give some challenge

@maxman: Ok, I get it and I agree. I only worked on Bloodsucker for one day. He obviously needs some work. I will give him more attacks. I just wanted to show the level.

@Bloodbane: i agree with maxman too. I will definitely work on it. I also wanna add some details and humor in the form of background characters (like the skater girl on the second level of TMNT2 NES).

Shantae would make a nice base for Alopex (who I could see as a player)

I'd like to add in a new character (on top of Alopex as mentioned before):

Sorry, I don't know who Shantae is but Alopex is really b@d@$$. I'm still reading the new IDW comics and so far, I LOVE them.

I like this project man. Nice sprites you converted to 8-bit. Good color seperation. I was wondering if you were planning to add any scenes or levels from the first TMNT 1990 Movie. Or a bonus cutscene. The one where they learn telepathy and listen to Splinter.

If you need anything contributed, I would be glad to see what I can do man.

Ms. Shantae's been everywhere.

@Omega: Thanks a lot, man! I haven't thought about that cutscene from the first movie yet. But, who knows? There's still work to be done.

@Miru: Sorry, dude!  :-\

So, here I am AGAIN. This is yet ANOTHER level based on the TV series. Obviously this one is based on the episode with the three Pizza Monsters but not only that, I improved other things like the commands to perform some moves. I also changed the animation of the Foot Soldiers when they're being thrown against the screen (it looks smoother now). And also, I started adding some "Special Moves" from SNES Tournament Fighters. So far Leo is the only one with  that kind of moves. And, in case you didn't notice there is 3 floor levels. It might not seem like much but it was kind of tricky since one of those levels is pretty much a foreground.  The transparent waterfalls were kind of tricky to animate too. I hope you like this video:

Woah, video game sewer water never looked so pretty!  And neither have foot soldier sprites being thrown at the screen!

I was impressed by the 3-level effect, even though it doesn't seem like fighting on the foreground plane would be a wise idea!  How appropriate that the boss of such an innovative level is a three-team of Pizza Monsters.

One directorial recommendation I have is to consider if there's a way you can tease the player with the knowledge that the Monsters are coming.  In the 16-bit games, they were pretty sneaky about popping out of the water.  Not major threats, but minor obstacles. I was always disappointed if I couldn't kill them all!  In your game, it would help build tension for a final confrontation.

Nice work on Leo's Tournament Fighters special, but I felt like the Turtles were plenty powerful with the attacks they already had.  I'm worried that a cross the screen attack could become too devastating an option.  But I'd have to play it to see what I really though.

Thanks for your feedback, oldmanwinters. The Pizza Monsters need a spawn animation. I was thinking they can come out of the water or even appear as their "little" version and then transform into their "big" form right in front of you, kind of like the cartoon. About the Tournament Fighters moves, I wanted the turtles to have a good variety of moves. You still have to press the buttons in the right order (Down, Forward + Attack) to perform the attack and that can be challenging if you're surrounded by enemies.

Thats cool! You should do what many openbor games already have. Special moves, that helps to fill the super move bar, and a super move (or combo).
If the player is surrounded, you can press Attack + Jump, and the player will give a unblockable move that hits any nearby enemies in your surroundings. And this attack can cost a small portion of your life, but interrupts any enemy attacks.

Second that

I can see the 3-level idea here although I don't see many reason to leave one level to go to the other. IOW you might need to add traps or something which could persuade turtles to be on certain level
One idea is to spawn one pizza monster to swim in water and attacks anything it sees. After some time, the monster will leave
I only suggest one to trick player into thinking that there would be only one at end of level ;)

or even appear as their "little" version and then transform into their "big" form right in front of you, kind of like the cartoon

You know, that gives me idea of having bonus level in which turtles must defeat little pizza monsters in pantry/kitchen (there's pizzeria level right?) before time runs out

Have you thought about adding the mutant versions of the other gang members? I think they could make for some cool bosses. Also if you didn't know the arcade game was apparently going to have three stages between the Factory and Technodrome stages, Elevator, Steel Frame  and Rooftop stages. They could be something to add. Also I'm wondering if you are planning to have the bosses talk like in the arcade game?

@sergiomsousa: Thanks, man! i thought about adding a "special move bar" but I never looked into it. It seems like a good idea.

@Bloodbane: Thanks, man! I was thinking that perhaps you could fight the "little" Pizza Monsters in the middle of the level and then their more mutated version as a Boss. Using traps is a good idea. And the reason I have three floor levels is because that's how it was in the cartoon.

@BeasTie: Thanks a lot! I was thinking the same about the color of the water but, in the cartoon it was also blue and I wanted the level to resemble the show. There's gonna be more sewer levels. I've been watching episodes with RatKing and Leatherhead and the water wasn't blue in those episodes.

@Dan: YES!! I thought about it. Scrag turns into a bat in one of the episodes. I wanted to use that but there are other ideas that I wanna work on first. I also wanna have a Rooftop level and I'm gonna adapt "or" recreate that elevator part form SNES Turtles in Time. I always though of The Technodrome as a fortress and I feel that the Technodrome levels were too short on the Arcade/Console games so I'm gonna have different Technodrome levels and I was thinking of using the elevator part to connect them. For example: TMNT2 NES Tecnodrome level, elevator, TMNT3 NES Technodrome level, elevator, TMNT4 SNES Technodrome level, or something like that.
