About the turtles jumping the skyscraper, well, yeah, that's true but The Technodrome? I don't know, that's too much. About the music covers, I'll look it up. Powder, huh? Technodrome Fan Forums? Thanks a lot, oldmanwinters  :).

The turtles look at the Technodrome and then they say "There it is", and then they just "JUMP" to the Technodrome!! That never made any sense to me!. Who can jump that high?

;D Those are anime effects IMO
Regardless, it's good idea to add another level to show progress of going to Technodrome. I don't know the whole game yet but it's best for you to add couple things to make the cave level unique (aside of falling stalactites) such as rain of small rocks and stalactites
Or some stalagmites as obstacles

Once again, thanks for the ideas, Bloodbane :) ! I was thinking about adding stalagmites and I like that "rain of rocks" idea. And about the whole "walking to the Technodrome" idea, well, perhaps I just wanted an excuse to add a new level.

That "Gauntlet" stage was what I was going for, oldmanwinters. I did play and beat The Hyperstone Heist and the game was good but I feel that they recycled a lot from TMNT4. Although, I do believe the sprites were slightly better. They improved the shading, specially on the Stone Warriors. I love Rocksteady in that game, too bad they didn't include Bebop but overall, LOTS OF FUN!!!

I agree.  I feel like Hyperstone Heist could have been something uniquely special if Konami had just put a little more effort into it.  The pacing felt a little weird because most stages had three acts to them, so the game suffers from a lack of boss variety.  The Gauntlet was cool as a boss rush, but it just felt a little lazy fighting the same three or four guys you had already beaten.

I agree the Sprites looked fantastic on Genesis and I loved the option to have a comic vs. anime color palette switch.

One thing I did like about Hyperstone compared to Turtles in Time was that it seems to homage the NES Arcade Game levels at times as well as remixing the SNES levels.  They used the cave background one too many times, though.

Yeah, true that, oldmanwinters! I do love the first half of the game. The very first sewer level and then the part that's pretty much like Alleycat Blues and the dojo stage was really cool too but that Gauntlet level was a cheap way to make the game longer.

hi gabotico. ;)

well, first at all, i liked a lot the demo. there are many good details related to new playable chars, bosses, or scenarios that i liked and enjoyed a lot. the new ones posted included! :)

i know that you love do your own sprites (and you do it splendid!) so after play the demo, i think you are focused more on the sprites works than on the game himself.

anyway, here are my conclusions and suggestions after play the last demo:

the game looks too hard. cause the enemies are a lot of agressive! :P. and attacks at light speed. even performing jump kicks!. :P

i can imagine that you will like to make the playability less slower like on the original nes game. and more like in tmnt1&2 arcade games maybe.

thats ok. but this way, is simply impossible to the player to react to the enemies moves or even think what to do!.
cause the enemies just hurt you again and again constantly and FASTER...

i haved this problem too on the rocksteady 1st boss. wich is so harder for me.
or with the mousers on baxter boss. wich attacks you constantly.. :P

i can say is the same problem that the tmnt2 arcade game have... a very cool game, but unplayable due to his nasty difficulty... forcing you to perform specials all the time for can advance. :P

in fact, i only saw just a "one credit coin video" on youtube for this damn harder tmnt2 arcade game. :P :(.

a true pity... cause that game have very cool sprites, but had a really unfair and hardest difficulty. or rare moves playability.

conclusion: i really think that your enemies must be less harder or faster, for start to do a game not so hard like tmnt 2 arcade was. you know ;).

however, i know... this is only a demo yet. ;)

now, lets go with the demo moves test...

1) the leonardo charge running attack is good. but i see a problem related with his speed...

he can run more fast than walk. but when performing the running move attack, he slowdowns A LOT. performing a very SHORT range attack...
(and the same happens with some turtles specials. that dont came too long).

on my oppinion, the run move could be a bit more faster. for be perfect. ,)

and for the rest, well...

i think you should do something similar as seen on "ax battler" in "golden axe".
or like in the others tmnt games. where the running move is more useful. and came more further to reach to the enemies.

2) i like the slide move, but many times it happens when i just wanted to perform a jump kick!. :P

how you can fix that? :P. i suppose that changing the move command for other (but always one easier to be performed. best at capcom games style: cadillacs, avp, warriors of fate...).

or maybe, just adding that a second jump button must be pressed for perform it.

this will be perform the sliding move with "down +jump + jump". instead of just pressing the jump button once.

in theory... this could avoid the glich of perform the slide, when you only wanted to do a simple jump kick.

those details affects the playability. doing the game a bit uncontrollable and also harder. being not so good as it should be...

my moves suggestion?
is that you should try to do something beetwhen the tmnt1 and tmnt hyper stone heist on genesis.

these both are best games of the franchise for me. that way you could do the game more enjoyable, cool, and less harder. ;)

so, the first step will be downgrade the enemies I.A. and then, just upgrade these playable chars moves too.

anyway... dont worry!. again... i know this is just a demo!. ;)

apart, this is a common mistake of the fangames creators. tends to do the enemies too much harder on his first games... ;).

(the "streets of rage remake" first version, was the enemies so agressive too, and some even block all the attacks constantly. until it was fixed).

for end, the last glith that i found...

look out with these enemies behind the walls... :P
------------------------------------------------------------

i saw that certains enemies tends to keep inside the walls instead of came out. :P

this is a common bor games problem. and is very frustrating for you cannot get and kill they for can continue playing. (forcing you to get back añways for make them appear).

they tends to do this on places like the bebop stage, or in the fence on the sewers stage, trowing arrows to you hidden and secured there inside the right wall... where you barely can hit them. :P LOL.

please, try to fix that annoy thing, if is possible.

greetings ;)

my last suggestions...
--------------------------
-i really would love an extra arcade mode, but with all these secret chars avaliable in the rooster!. :)

-can you make the chars rebound on the walls?
thats something i really miss there, on the arcade game 1st stage. :) hehe

gabotico, why you dont use the voices from the tmnt1 arcade game intros?

since this is openbor, you dont need to make the game just as a nes game...

is better use the best things of every world... even when this fangame will be a nes tmnt game remake. their original arcade game voices will be an splendid sound addon for your game!.

the roadkill rodney robots are hard, cause after attack you, they keep away from you, for you cannot counter attack them.

is that normal? i think that on the original tmnt1 game, they dont do this.

they can use their electricity for long distance attacks.. alright. but they dont keep so far away from you, after attacking you succesfully...
(forcing you to attack them with a jump kick).

-i miss a lot, the colour change for the bosses vitality... showing that you are near to kill the boss cause his red colour blinking.

i saw a similar thing on the forum. is a script for implement blinking on any bor mod. you should take that for your game. ;). (sorry, now i dint remenber where exactly i saw it :P).

boss room?:
---------------
i remember similar beat em up games like "crime fighters", with a room full with all the bosses.
that could be a very cool addon after you already reduced the I.A enemies difficulty.

this would be added as an "extra stage" with all the bosses inside, and some weapons scatered.
they can come on groups of 4 or 8, mixed with some normal enemies. (just like on the crime fighters arcade game. ;) )

neutrinos flying cars:
--------------------------
did you know already or figure this out?...

these cadillacs style cars used by the foot soldiers (on the highway stage), are the neutrinos flying cars!...

with those cars, could be performed a very interesting and cool flying stage...

there are 2 posibilities:

1) a flying stage where you drive the flying car.

2) or... one stage where the neutrinos from the dimension x will drive the car. and you will move over the others flying cars. fighting againts foot soldiers, flying enemies, etc.

this idea could be used for a 2nd snow stage. like on the tv cartoon.

example...

after beating a rock warrior boss near the city arcades, the target will be take on the flying cars for reach the escaped "wheater transformer machine".

that is located floating on the skies in the middle of a crazy storm. (yes. just like on the cartoon show!. ;) )

throw objects:
------------------
on the alleycat blues stage boss, i tought that can be helpful can take these few stones from the breaked wall, againts the boss.

the same can happen even when you stoped an object launched by one enemy. (this can be just optional).

take some scatered stones or things like that, scatered on the stages for throw they, can be interesting.

the unused gun on tmnt 1 arcade:
----------------------------------------
pal, did you know that unused gun on the original tmnt1 arcade game? there was an unused gun for the turtles!.  :o

i finded it with pro action replay codes on mame. but only works the animation, saddly the gun doents shot really.

this would was an unused gun, that you can stole from the enemies on the technodrome level...

or maybe, is just from one unused intro. where the turtles transformed splinter into human again.

(that was a plot used on the cartoon. but finally, splinter decided to remain as a mutant rat. instead of be human again).

thats all. i dotn have internet and i cannot connect always... thats way i have all this already written. :P

so, please sorry for the LOT of text. (just read it by parts when you want...). ;)

greetings. and keep that splendid and cute sprites works you are doing there!. ;)

look gabotico, here you can see those unused guns on tmnt1 arcade game. including the ogg sound file downloadable:
https://tcrf.net/Teenage_Mutant_Ninja_Turtles_%28Arcade%29

and here are more information and an unused sprite from pizza hut too on the tmnt2 nes the arcade game:
https://tcrf.net/Teenage_Mutant_Ninja_Turtles_II:_The_Arcade_Game

the great white dragon already used that unused gun...
for the enemy and playable foot soldier, on his awesome tmnt shell shocked.
(now only god know how many different weapons can carry the foot soldier!. is more armed than rambo! hehe ;D)

Well, thanks a lot for the feedback, miguelo777. First of all, those links you sent me with the unused sprites and stuff were REALLY cool. Regarding the difficulty of my game, a lot of people have mentioned that but whenever I play it I really have no problem getting rid of the Foot Soldiers. I like the fast pace. I really appreciate the ideas but I prefer the turtles as the good guys.  I still need to come up with a "at least" decent story that explains how the old levels and the new ones that I wanna add to the game are connected. I'm probably gonna have to work on the story for now since the computer that I'm using to make the game just died on me. I'm gonna have to buy a new one but since this happened recently, I'm still looking into it.

oh my god pal.. im so sorry.

why when a fangame genious did this such of cool work, their damn computers tends to crash!? i remenber this on similar cases, as the old version of the awesome "metal slug 5 elite fangame".  pal this happens so many times i guess.. :(

well, then let me tell you some things.

1) hard drives crashes after 8 years. is his life time. more further than this without backup all the files on a external hard drive... is a sure disaster. :P  (i hope you could do this by the way)

2) for losed files. use "recuva". this free program is AWESOME.

did you erase your curriculum vitae from oa pendrive? use recuva.
did you erase all the photos from a movile phone by mistake (my brother did this :P) use recuva.
did you disconected your external hard drive by unplug it at brute force, and you cannot make windows can open it? use recuva.

in all those cases, i tested the program and i was abble to recover all my files!. :)

best examples, the day my brother erased all the photos of my mothers mobile phone.

and more important, when i commited the stupid mistake, of unplug an external hard drive (western digital, i hate you) by the brute force. instead of simply shut off the computer ,for can extract the usb cable with security.

i losed 1TB of bor games, fangames, etc, etc. but thanks to recuva, i was abble to recover ALL using another new hard drive.
recuva sucessfully jumped the registry error that the broken hard drive was, and copied the ENTIRE content of the crashed hard drive into the new one.
and even on the same order i haved these things!.  ;D

of course, recuva dont pay me nothing for say this. LOL. but i saw that this free program is awesome for recover losed data. very recommended to all you guys. ;)

2nd:
-----
dont worry if your hard drive has crashed. even when windows dont open it on a new computer (using an external hard drive empty box with your hard drive) dont send it to the trash yet!...

pal, all my computers experience, tells me many times this...
a completelly DEAD hard drive, tends to resurrect. for unkown reasons. :P

and no matter how many times you already tried unsucessfully to connect the crashed hard drive, with an external box to the new computer by an usb cable...

one day, for some BIZARRE raisons, you mistaken the hard drive, took one you was for see if you have "something there" or free space, and... it was surprisingly that broken hard drive.  whom now has sucessfully load!.  :o :o

this happens to me 3 times... with different crashed older hard drives.
and thanks to the empty box and my patience, one day after 3 years, i was rewarded with a sucessfull plug in of the broken hard drive working.

on that moment, you simply must copy and paste (more faster than cut and move) all the content to a secure new hard drive.

but do it slowly... taking only a few files every time. (for not block the device). wich not works too fine. :P

it tooks me the whole night... :P but finally i was able to recover many of my losed things on those broken hard drives.

THE TRICK?, is to keep the hard drive always COOL.
i means that if the device works too much time, it became hot and can stop of work. :P

so, you must take some ice cubes from the freezer, and a recipient for they. putting it over the hard drive.
i know... this could sounds really stupid and crazy. hehe. but it WORKS!. believe me.

well, i hope not was you case. and that you could sucessfully recover all, or mostly of your things... included the works on this awesome fangame. ;)

thats why is good to upload fangames betas into clouds fils places. for avoid virus deleting files, hard drives crashes, etc.

greetings

ps offtopic about the future:  8)
-----------------------------------
this is for everyone...  did you see these modern chinese tablets or mobile phones?  :o

in just 3 years, they will became extremelly powerfull. cause some of the today chinese not so expensive tablets (220 euros) can load powerfull graphics modern pc-console games.  ;D

so, after a time with not so good games, (as this stinky final fantasy 7 remake, these unfinished assesins creeds betas, or shit stuff like that) the gaming industry will move on these kind of devices. pc and mobile phones/tablets. instead of consoles. (that today only are "modified computers")

that fact, will be much better for can have better quality videogames. with steam style platforms, and of course will be good too for the openbor engine sucess!. ;)

did you not believe me? today on japan, i hear that they just dont buy consoles.
they only play at their mobile phones... i think this show clear the future way... isnt?

Thanks a lot for the advice, man. I appreciate it! It's the motherboard. I have backups of ALMOST everything and I'm always making backups of the game, in a flashdrive so I'm good. I had started working on a new level but didn't do much so I don't mind starting again. I never put any files in my Hard Drive, just applications. My files are on external hard drives, usb ones. As soon as I get my new computer I should be able to start working on my game again, in very short time. Thanks again  :).

wait a moment my friend... i forget another VERY IMPORTANT thing i really dont know if you and the rest of guys already knew...

the motherboard fails... or is just THE DUST?  ???

when a computer get dust (that is mainly the rest of the skin of the people living on that house), that causes electrostatic failures/shortcircuits on the motherboard.

the gliches caused are really scared, the pc crashes in the middle of a session ¿?. (on else moment!), windows crash on the load sometimes... :P
and finally, it just doents load at all!. with that "bit" sound after the try of start on the computer unsucesfully. :p

and you completelly scared, and "with the eggs in the mouth" just think... "the hard drive is dead!", "the motherboard is dead!"... but... NO!. is just the damn DUST pal.  is just that.

so... just open the computer every 6, 8 or 10 months.
(the time of the dust will annoy you changes, depending of the place where you live and the seasson of the year)
so, you just open the computer and take a look...

think that the dust taken on winter, will became hard against the motherboard on summer. (due to the heat).

and that will cause problems DURING ELSE SEASSON OF THE YEAR. :P

giving the computer to a repair house, it will coust you like 30 euros... :P

very expensive, when you only have to remove these few 4 screws the computer box have, open it, and clean it carefully.

blow into it if you dont have something to take for remove the dust inside.
but be asure that you dont leave any part of dust inside!.

and dont forget too, to clean the fans inside!. cause by the fans the computer will take almost all the dust. (cause is a air entrance).

and thats all... believe it or not, simply the dust will cause high electrostatic interferences, o shortcuits, that will avoid the computer will load or have several rare glitches working.

but is something that can be easily repaired... with just a manual clean. opening it and blowing carefully the dust outside your pc.

when you will have really cleaned the whole computer (fans included!) then test that your hard drive, graphic card, memory cards, etc, inside the motherboard, will be all correctly connected.

(sometimes the computer vibration can do these things could get out their places). now just close it and connect all the cables into it. and re-start the computer again.

in mostly of the cases, is just that...
the damn bastard of the dust annoying you. and nothing more!.

is much more easy that the fail will be that, that it will be a "real fail", with a part of the computer broken.

and more if your computer is new, and doents have 8 years of live. (that is when the hard drive is near to die :P)

as ken says on street fighter 1 after lose with ryu...
"i wish you... good luck!."  ;)

So, I finally got my new computer (the old one no longer works) and I am now able to keep working on my TMNT openBOR game. This is a Zoo level where you get to see the warthog and rhino that eventually get used to mutate Bebop and Rocksteady into their more "popular" form. I still wanna add more details, like people looking at the animals and stuff but I just wanted to show what I have so far. Here's the video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3IIAH8x_R8

Woah, that zoo level is such a great homage to the TV show!

I was especially amused by the oblivious guy on the bench with his dog that was there to witness the Roadkill Rodneys steal the animals.

That zoo appeared a couple more times in the show, once when the mutated catwoman April broke a tiger out of its cage and again in "Planet of the Turtleoids" where Shredder was shown hiding out at the zoo mutating a bunch of animals, which resulted in the creation of Dirtbag, Groundchuck, and Tattoo (how random was that?).  In the episode "Dirk Savage, Mutant Hunter," it was also suggested that Tokka and Rahzar were created around the same time due to Shredder's zoo experiments.

Wow!! I'm so glad you remember all those details, oldmanwinters! I do not recall the other episode where the Zoo appeared. I guess in my country they didn't show all the episodes. Thankfully I do own the whole show, I just haven't had the time to watch the whole thing.
