Hi O Ilusionista, I was wondering if it will be possible to upgrade the OpenBOR version of the game to 4.0?
My daughter and me use Xbox Controllers to play the game, and OpenBOR 3.0 has issues with the controllers.
Like sometimes my inputs affect my daughter character or the other way around. Also, navigation with the controller is kind of broken.
I tried to replace the exe with 4.0 but I get compilation errors. 😥
You can try disabling the joystick in-game and then using software like JoyToKey for key mapping.
By the way, nice avatar! 🤝

We can choose to use the folder “PocketDimensionalClash2.exe”, which, as the description text says, “fixes the problem with mapping multiple controls on Windows”. I've tried it with an xbox controller, a ps controller, and a northcom controller, and it doesn't interfere.

On the package, there are two executables. One is the normal OpenBOR 6391 V3 (which has a bug on the controllers), the other is the same thing, but with a fix for the controllers. I've tested it many times and it works normally - the behaviour you mention is what happens on the old one, 6391.

Like @DCurrent explaine above, I have no plans to move to 4.0 yet, for two reasons:

1- I work on the many projects at once, and all of them share my library of scripts (anything I do for one project, I automatically share for the others). So if I upgrade one project now, I have to update ALL OF THEM at the same time, and this is an herculean task and I don't have time for now.

2- we don't have an Android port yet, and this means a lot to my users , as they use Android a lot. Including me. To be honest with you, one of the reasons that I use OpenBOR is exactly to be able to play on my pc and mobile phone at the same time. I won't be developing using OpenBOR without it, for example (heck, I even coded part of the Avengers project directly on my phone...)

I should move to 4.0 someday, but I don't see this happening anytime soon. And it will probably be with a new project (although that's not a guarantee) - and I already have some new projects started, so maybe that will be for the future.

I've been developping this new version for one year and I've been tested it on the version I am using, so I know it works on it.
I cannot guarantee it will work in any other version, older or newer, or non-official versions.

And its not because "I don't want to", its because this is a free project and I don't earn any money from it directly and its been getting harder to me keep working on my hobbies.

Yeah, no worries. I didn't know that it will be so much work to upgrade to 4.0.
Thanks for the detailed explanation. I really appreciate the thought.

Thank you this game runs fine with OpenBor on MorphOS, the build is the key is the 7142.
Thanks for the info. 7142 is the 4.0 alpha version and I really suggest you to not use it, as it was an alpha version as the name says.

Plus, I am about to import a code on this game that breaks the compatibility with any version higher than 6391 (DOT by script), which is the same reason my Avengers game doesn't runs on anything beyond 6391

I'm sorry for MorphOS is the only option, the newest build the 7533 crash the OpenBor same with Avengers, for the alternative systems with few users/fans is normal these problems, I only test the games made with OpenBor for the MorphOS users know your projects and this system can to have new and fresh games, not only ports of old games.

Because both projects (all my projects in fact) aren't compatible with 4.0
I understand your need, if that is the only option - I just can't offer support to non-official ports, sorry.

You don't worry, the only solution in this case is test it and if the game runs, good, if not, to try other, in this case the solution will be make a pack with your game and the OpenBor MorphOS version, but this can be a problem, to distribute your game without your permission, also is important to know the OpenBor opinion and the MorphOS storage to upload this pack, how you can see in the alternative systems it is more complex, but this is a hobby too.

I don't mind people distributing my work if:
- The credits are kept intact
- the game is kept intact (not any kind of modification, like "light" version, "enhanced" version, etc).
Other than that, go ahead.
Thank you,
I have spoken with the person who owns MorphOS Storage, to preserve his work for MorphOS fans, to make it available over time.

If I were to say anything about the Pac-Man boss seen in the Electra video, I'd say the card bio for him is a bit mean-spirited, and doesn't have enough info on the card. I feel like the current card could be an easter egg card, while his "standard" card would read:

Name:
"Pac-Man"

Universe:
Pixels
Live-Action Film-2014

Intro
Normally non-malicious, this gaming icon was recreated as a destructive alien weapon using "pixel" technology to turn humanity's heroes against it in a regulated game of invasion, showing the dubious chivalry of the alien invaders. Capable of keeping some degree of a friendly facade for prolonged periods of time, the creature's remorseless nature was initially taken as reasonable response to slights, before it began to attack openly. Translating his movement patterns, new attacks based on his spherical body were created, giving him an edge in combat.

New character ready: Electra, from Streets of Rage series! Can you guess the boss?
Thanks The_Flying_Kick for the co-op gameplay

This is the first level of the second chapter of the game, which begins exactly where the previous chapter ends. Everything that appears in the latest release is part of chapter 1, and you need to complete it to unlock chapter 2.

We decided to separate the game into chapters, based on the length of the story. Chapter 2 will be the same length as the first chapter (or even longer), and will bring several new enemies, bosses and playable characters.

Electra is one of the bosses in these new stages, and you will need to defeat her to make her a playable character.

It's intentional :) And thanks for spoiling the surprise lol

The card should at least explain why Pac-Man is hostile towards the player, though. As in “Un-Fort-unately, that is why Pac-Man has joined the dark side, so stay tuned.”

It is explained when you beat the first chapter, when many video game characters comes to life - this is why you find some Golde Axe characters here. You will be able to find almost all enemies from all the previous universe on the next levels.

Pac-Man here have no link with that movie. This is why we used the original info:
info_pacman.gif
He works more like a joke than anything (there will be a cutscene after this fight). Keep in mind that, since the end of the first chapter, the multiverse is collapsing and you will start to find more and more "out of place" characters down the road - there will be even a second Exiles team.

Btw, no card on the game explains why that particular boss is there. Its a bios screen, to show info about the character background for those who doesn't know the character (hence the joke on this one), not a cutscene plot.

It works like this in all the games I do in OpenBOR :)
