Gentlemen, please, chill out.

Can someone please take care of this guy? Now after all he is still getting on my wiki pages and changing my words on them on his liking for no real reason!!

Someone tell him that changing peoples words is not correcting typos and he should stop!!!!

Both of you cool it, and I mean ten minutes ago. MY (as in, the one I own because I'm the one who pays for it) wiki, is not your personal billboard or battle ground.

Miru, you need to research and actually ensure you know what you're talking about before editing and writing articles. Many of your articles have nothing to do with the engine at all, and will confuse readers. We have enough of that as it is. Also, the creative commons license is not a free reign to engage in edit wars.

Magggas, you went about this the WAY wrong way. Defacing somone's personal profile should get you banned on sight. I'm going to try a warning for both of you, but if this erupts again I will mute the both of you without another word. I'm going to go over and clean up some of this mess (as if I don't have better things to do). In the meantime, I strongly suggest you both stay way from each other and the wiki for a few days.

From my part it's all okay, i don't have any personal vendetta or something with anyone. I know, for a moment i did something wrong, but it should have been the last stupid thing from my side anyway.
I'm glad that someone looked to stop all this and i'm move on.

By the way, from my side there is not much to clean up. It's like two pages to undo or something. But from Miru's part... oh boy..!! He added tons of nonsense to the wiki and there is a lot to clean up!!

Duly noted and understood. Will not edit the Wiki for at least a month.

It would be helpful to state in the "Extracting an existing .PAK file" section (https://dcemulation.org/?title=OpenBORManual#Extracting_an_existing_PAK_File:) of the manualthat borpak/paxplode will only extract paks under 100MB in size. Took me a month or more (and quite a few downloads) to discover that...
Maybe I didn't look around enough, but boy that was p a i n f u l

For those who drag and drop a pak and the program just opens and closes, this is probably why.

seapunk,

This is news to me. We've got some packs pushing 1GB (almost all of it waste, but that's another discussion) and they extract just fine.
I think you may be having a different, more specific issue that we should look into.

seapunk: I didn't encounter this kind of problem, which software do you use for paxplode pak files? Maybye this is an old or corrupted .exe program.

I never had this type of error. I can pack / unpack bigger paks with no issue.

I use borpak/paxplode.bat, might've screwed up something when extracting then. My bad.

Hello , I don't know if this is the place to ask but in the manual it says

@cmd {functionname} {parameter} ...
but it does not list all the function names or am I misunderstanding this?

I'm trying to find what is @CMD hurt9 from the game I'm learning from - and I found out that
using @CMD hurt9 100 ( the 100 number is damage for the enemy) - but  I don't understand what the number 9 on "hurt" is.

anyone can help me I appreciate it.

Sorry PS VITA, but you're misunderstanding how that works.

@cmd runs script functions. There are lots of predefined functions and many of them are listed. But the whole point of script is building your own functions. Obviously there's no way we can list those.

Hurt9 is just the name of a function someone wrote into their module. No more or less. I'd guess the creator also made at least 8 more versions. It's a very poor naming convention (I know because I used to do it), but it does work.

Everything makes sense now.
Thank you so much.

I searched the manual for "loading.c"
but I could not find anything on this script, is it not listed in the manual because is a custom script ?

You are right - Loading.c isn't listed on the manual.

All, just for the record, one of the reasons the 4.0 release is taking so long is because I'm doing my best to make sure everything in it is fully documented as I go... and also, any legacy stuff I run into along the way. Here's a couple of examples. All of the functionality noted is running, it's just not released yet because some things are in flux or connected to other things are are not quite ready yet.

There's a lot more, but I don't want to get carried away before the release. Going as quickly as I can to make it happen soon as possible. One other thing - I elected to remove all the module articles and anything else not related to the engine itself. Half of them were vanity pieces by one guy who isn't here anyway. None of them belong in a wiki intended to work as the engine manual because they pollute search results.

Articles referencing materials not already in our Resources section were uploaded and cataloged.
