magggas: Hi buddy, I think that Marian must be done and integer your roster of playable character and if you have no volonteer to make her, I'll offer my help.
I've found this unused sprite in Double Dragon Advance and I like her stance:

A lot of content planned for the game was cut during development, including a playable prologue, additional cutscenes, improved enemy AI, lots of weapons and special moves, "Marian's Escape" mode in which the player would play as Marian escaping from her captors, "Renegade Abobo" mode in which the player could play as Abobo helping Marian escape, and the three main characters from Combatribes being playable in Survival Mode. In addition, Marian would have appeared in Survival Mode after every 20 beaten enemies to refill some of the player's health.

Too sad that kind of extra content was cut from Double Dragon Advance, and that's without considering Return of/Super Double Dragon, that game cut so much content...
 
Okay guys, the new update with Andre and B.Boss man as playable is here:


-NEWS IN THIS VERSION:
1. Added "Andre The Giant" and "The B.Boss Man" as playable characters.
2. Reworked a little the enemies AI, so if they don't have a target they stay on idle instead of wandering aimlessly.
3. Created a better alternate color palette for the enemy version of Hulk Hogan.
4. Added Ultimate Warrior's "Down Body Splash" move.
5. Added gameplay demos in the title screen.
6. Also made some minor bug fixes here and there.

I'm asking if they found more of these sprites/stance of Marian.

I'm not sure the sprite style would match, but it looks really good!

Are you going to sprite from scratch?

kimono Oh yeah, since it's the arcade version of Marian she looks nice for my game. You have done a good job so far!
Okay here are the needed/reference sprites(not included idle /walk cause you made them already):

Now my sprites are double sized and a little wider so you probably can't use them. But you can still use my sprite sheet as an visual example of the needed sprites for Marian.

As about adding DD3 stages.. i'm not sure how i feel  about that..

Well i actually wanted to also include Dibiase on this update but the problem was that i got delayed a lot with this update because of other stuff. So i had to left Dibiase for an next update but i will add him for sure! About Honky Tonk Man and Jim Duggan i like to make them playable as well but their grab moves can't work with the smaller sized DD characters. So these two i will add only if i will figure out what to do with teir grab moves..?

I think you can use Linda as a base to edit and give her some customs as well.

I recommand you to use the unscalled sprites of linda to edit. (make some SAVE)
Than scale it to fit Magggas's characters size.

Also, just one hint, be sure to check her body proportions. (most DD characters have stronger arms and smaller legs)
But Marian should have thiner arms and slightly thicker legs.

But it looks really good!

Oh yeah, i forgot to mention that. Yes he should keep doing this with the normal unscalled sprites and i will do the upscalling later by myself.

And yes, it also will be nice if he can give Marian one or two extra attack animations to be her signature moves.

In Double Dragon 2 Nec/Pc Engine, a legend says:
"If the illusion spreads the evil will live again.
But if two dragons soar through the sky,
an angel will fall to the Earth."
So Marian takes back to life and get eventually her revenge :)

First, I will draw her as an equivalent to Linda, then add run anim (I suppose you get inspired by dd advance frames), grabs like Billy; the final touch will be some signature moves like DD Neo maybye. I'm open to all suggestions  :D

Yes, The scalling process should be done by Magggas, so he can use the values needed.
And perhaps do some trial and error on sprites display.

I would suggest her to use these moves.

ATTACKS
Another kick, so she have 2 kicks. (she need a starter, I think some side kick would be ok before the roundhouse)

JUMP ATTACK
She need some actual jump kick (Billy/Jimmy style)
Can be used for both (jump P and K)

RUN ATTACK
P Run elbow
K Run jump kick(similar to jum attack sprite)(you don't need to actually jump, but the anim will do it with a jumpframe)

GRAB
grab attack knee back (Billy Jimmy style)
grab throw : some wrestling slam

OTG
P-Regular 1 kick stomp (like the wrestlers and similar to Kunio no banka girls) Perhaps just fixing your edit would be enough.
K-Double knee drop (zangief style, but on the ground)
(FWD+P/K)-some similar move like Billy/Jimmy mount punches, but she could use slaps instead.

Special duck system (Billy/Jimmy style) P+K, then...
-P knee upper (Billy/Jimmy style)
-K some somersault kick

voilà,
I hope some of then can give you ideas.
I might give you a hand if you cannot convert some moves

Yes, good reference. 8)
And some of the moves I suggest can be taken directly from this reference.

slaps (looks better than Linda's moves)
Kicking
Aerial kick
stomp
flying knee
Back hand strike looks good as well

For me, just the rolling attack and spinning kick would look too acrobatic for Marian.
 
Congratulations for your great job! Without a doubt it is the best diouble dragon of openbor !!
I have a problem, I play backpieces, and I have a bug when climbing stairs. How can I solve that?
 
Some small progress on Marian:

- Now Marian can climb
- Added kick attack and back hand strike (new back attack) thanks to afhc2x17 Misako spritesheet
- Stomp completed

magggas: Can you send me the cycle run of Billy at his original size if you got it?
I hope you like these new frames.
Next to add:
- Some kicks for kick combo
- grab attack and throw
- all weapons frames (these ones are the easiest :) )
