You don't need to explain all of that. What makes the street Alpha look out place is how plainly the street fighter alpha sprites were shaded. SFA favored, super over the highlights or big bright spots on the front sides of the characters. I guess that makes more cartoon like in appearance.
While FF sprites have more of a blended or traditional shading approach. That makes the FF sprites more gritty.
Which I think looks better because it gives better depth to the character pallet imop.
(Pen was a terrible choice to try to show the difference but that’s all i had.)
I can’t imagine how much time it would take to reshade SFA characters… Nor Should we expect this team to do that.
Just enjoy these super exciting characters appearances.
Don't worry we all (mostly) are oldtimers players.
We saw the transition of Classic style to more "anime" "through Darkstalkers".
And we understand your point.
Basically. SF2 series -> Darkstalkers -> SFA series.
most game creators did it as well even if it's less well known.
And there is no reason to edit these SFA sprites into "classic" style IMO. It still kind of works because of the similar resolution of sprites.
(Actually I did something like that for SF89 By @machok To give his classic FF arcade Guy some animations from Final Fight3/SFA Guy...)
But sure I understand your point and would prefer to keep the classic style as well.
But, it's ok I think. And I prefer to avoid it to slowdown the great progress of @Mr.Q! with upcoming characters.
