With Andrew and Kostas we figured a way to play OpenBOR online with great speed and we think it will be great to ask people where they currently live so we can create map and then host the game more efficiently.
  For example if someone is from france ,germany and poland then germany should host the game cause its in the middle.
There was a lot of talk about openbor online but it never worked that well but now its really big change and would be great to play your games with you guys!
Im currently in Poland, i was in UK.

Well me and bwwd were not having any problem voice chat with my brocken English  ;D There is no really need to voice chat anyways if someone does not like it,  since we can just use an opened text file to write and communicate there.
It's like the "host" is having an opened text file which can see, controll and write all of the connected people as well. So there is this simple option too if someone can't/wont voice chat for what ever reason :D

I'm based in Germany

With bwwd we have actually used mostly facebook's Messenger for our 2 people voice chat. For more than 2 people we should test Discord for sure!
 
I'm in the u.k, How is the online sessions overall? might be a good idea to rent some space on paperspace and have some dedicated sessions and times for play, maybe over the weekend or something.
