Thank you, buddy! Did you try the demo? Link is on the previous page

Yeah, I tried it. I really liked it. I noticed that Splinter is a playable character (which is most likely a mistake) since he has only idle and walking animations. I wanted to ask you if I could paxplode your mod. I really wanted to add that attack from TMNT3 to my mod. Also, I haven't figured how to make Tora throw that big snowball and I wanted to look into it. Or, would it be ok if I asked you how you did it?

I'm working on the Snow Stage from TMNT2, here's a video:

Paxplode it, man! Thanks for asking.
The demo you mention is the previous one, I posted a new version, with April and Usagi but no Splinter. There's a bug I have to fix: April's attacks rarely hurt Tora. She works fine in the other level.

I see you added multiple layers and walls, looks good! I thought about doing that but got lazy and decided to focus on other stuff instead.

Thanks a lot man!!! I'll try the other demo.

Yeah, I'm finally learning how to use walls. And the different layers wasn't that hard since the backgrounds are not animated.

Well you know how it is, you have a set list of characters whose drawing/programming are sure to take up all your free time for the next two years, when you decide what the hell, let's add even more chars. So, here's Irma! She will turn into Super Irma for her special.

Indeed I know...

Erma looks awesome!  Will she be playable?
Maybe she could just play defensive/evasive, only have attacks like stomping on foot soldiers feet and kicking them in the balls.  ;D

Wow I never replied to this comment. I'm sorry. Yes Irma is going to be playable. Interesting idea about stepping on people's feet.

Thank you for noticing that. It took quite a bit of work to duplicate that gameplay.

I didn't realize you had a demo out for this!

I just tried it and it's pretty cool so far.  The palettes/edits are really nice.

You did a good job to recreate the NES gameplay, thou personally I'd rather see it expanded on with more attacks etc.  The jump attack is very slow to react to pressing attack, it might help to tweak this to be more useful and less like the original game.  The chars could also use the AIR attacks like the first NES game had, for dealing with the flying enemies etc.  Being continually knocked down when jumping could get annoying.

hey man, I tried the demo and...you are starting to be my favorite OpenBOR coder :) I really like your style.

I was playing on the ship stage and when I stried to hit start to use a continue, the game quickly gone to game over. its intentional?

Plus, all the unlocked characters are gone when you start a new game. Its intentional too?
Btw is that unlock system working with continues?

Thank you for giving it a try, BeasTie. I know that the NES style of gameplay is not for everyone, but I would like to keep the game that way. The focus is not so much on how many ways you can attack the bad guys, it's more about getting to the end, you know? Avoiding enemy attacks and stuff. Like with the Power Rangers game, I like to offer a game that kicks your ass the first couple of times you play it, but afterwards you realize that the game is not really hard after all.

Balloons are tricky with players that have "dive" type of jumpattacks. Your options are:
- Just don't touch the balloons. Avoid them, let them fly past you, or jump over them.
- You CAN hit them, just aim for the balloon and avoid touching the bomb.
- Just pick a different character with no dive jumpattacks (so far that's anyone but the turtles and Mona Lisa)

Wow thank you O! That's high praise.
The Press Start thing... the reason for that glitch is that that "press start" text is fake, it's an image that of course doesn't change when you run out of continues! It was a makeshift solution because when you use that TMNT font, there's not enough space on screen for four consecutive "press start" texts. I fixed it this morning though using that translating fix that BeasTie provided (I have to add him to the credits!)

So far, yes. Just like when you restart a Megaman game and you don't have the bosses' weapons anymore. Do you think that's a bad thing?
I was planning to add the option to restart the game, once beaten, whith all characters unlocked(otherwise you would never get to use Shredder for example)

Not sure yet. For me, continues weren't working but it was because of a script in the map level. So I just disabled continues for this demo and will try to fix that glitch another day.

Tried the latest demo! v0.9
Simply wonderful!! I love your  many characters to play and the wonderful remake
from TMNT1 (NES).
Your game is a professional level, trust me! ;)

Yeah I never played these ones on NES back in the day.  So I guess I don't get the nostalgia from it.  I had original TMNT on NES thou, played the hell out of it.

I totally got that flashback nostalgia feeling thou playing the level with balloons and those flying head guys. :)  Also glad you added music from the first TMNT game, those tracks are great.
