sword attack help

Is anyone experienced with forward sword attacking?  When I got to my characters ani attack 1 the slashing motion looks fine but I must have done something wrong with attack and bbox because it doesn't damage the character and they enemies kill me in one shot lol. I copied the original mod to see if I came close but that attack is about 8 frames and mine is about 13 frames. The sword actually makes contact with the enemy entities just before frame 4...I wasn't sure if that needed to be known

Contact in attacks only happens when box's collide, show me how you are measuring your players attack box and the enemy's bbox

Show me visually  I want to see where you've put the box's and the codes that go with those box's too

is there a newer version of OPenbor stats? my machine never got it to work

Also, the tool to convert music files... i could not find it either from the links on the manual

Thanks everyone for your help. I gave it a shot but it wasn't working out, I figured Mugen was just as difficult so I'm gonna try something more simpler like RPG maker or something template based where I'm more limited probably but can progress faster and don't have worry about color palettes and other complex factors. Some games like Tenchu 2 have ingame editors. But I did enjoy playing some of the pen bor creations. I hope one day someone will look further at Red Earth Warzard as a mod because that is an awesome game--strong potential with its characters.... I was around during the arcade era but missed that one. I created a story line around one of the characters that I think would be interesting gonna try to put it into a comic creator,

Don't give up  8)

You have made a start and now you need to continue while fixing your errors

Please do as nsw suggested i.e upload the character text and sprites :)

Take a break Wombat2112 it can all be overwhelming at first especially if you have a big vision for your game, don't give up though, take a rest and come back in a week, sometimes you need to let the new information you've learned marinate and then continue later, we all find it frustrating at times but don't let that feeling over take you. Let it pass

Yeah you are right  I saved everything online especially my created animations and NSW's work that really helped. I deleted a lot of stuff off the hard drive just cause I needed to figure out what I needed and what should just go. I really need to renew my registry cleaner, I just got overwhelmed and  I had 20 gb of stuff on my hadr drive that I didn't even need. I was also spending too much time on it.  forgot about the outside world and realized I was neglecting some things, I just got frustrated felt like I wasn't "getting it" but hey I got the rest of this life to try. There's really no reason to rush. The file NSW did for me is great. I just saw my text file in comparison and got spooked. I thought oh no I still have a long way to go in terms of learning more, I need to do more reading., My worst aspect could be I let failure deter me and give up. I just needed a break, I will come back to it because it has been the much fun.  I do search on my own and try to understand tutorials. But  I hate having to bother other members so much for advice or help...often its been the best way of making progress. I don't want to be forum" burden" or pest lol. Right now I'm reading over the manual a couple hours a night, And not spending too much time on it....little more balance and grace was needed.  I am going to finish every animation. I have and I have lots of frames.... lots of options and different attacks including jumps. jump attacks, pain rise fall etc...and then worry about coding and specifics later and be more patient . i just needed to slow down...take a break...study some more.

nsw25 is a wizard and works really fast too so you're in good hands, we'll help you as much as possible but we want to see progress, 70% of the beginner questions have already been answered so make sure you throughly search the forums and have done lots of trail and error before asking if something is possible or can be done, I still ask questions after almost 15 years so don't worry, if your questions don't get answered it's either because it's already been answered, you should be able to figure it out yourself by doing some research or nobody online at the time knows. If you're attitude is right we'll be happy to help. Hopefully by now you understand how attack boxes work
