Canceled Streets of Rage the Final Fight (WIP)

Project is halted prior to completion and will not receive further updates.
It may be a bit difficult because of the different styles, but I´m sure Billy and Jimmy Lee would rock on this crossover. Not to mention that the Shadow Warriors gang would make a great team with the Mad Gear, the Foot clan and the like...
Other characters that would fit really well are the main heroes from Rushing Beat Run (or Brawl Brothers in western releases). Just some ideas. Your project is a beat-em-up dream come true.

Look for the mugen tool PCXCLEAN, it's an old command line tool.  But it can be used to clean sprite rips like this.  Basically you make a master  palette for your character, and it removes any colours that aren't in the master palette and replaces them with the background colour.

While PCXCLEAN still works, there are better options. Fighter Factory (its about time OpenBOR people to know this tool) have the same tool (at least in Classic and Ultimate, I can't remember if version 3 have it).

But I suggest you to use SpriteTracer: http://spritedatabase.net/downloads/SpriteTracer/readme.html

Thank You BeasTie and Ilusionista. I just gave Sprite Tracer a try and it is working just as described. Thanks Guys.

Thank you for the suggestions and for the compliment.

Are their any good Double Dragon sprites out there? I saw that the iPhone had some sort of a Double Dragon remake but I was not able to find any good sprites for it. Those sprites may mix well with this project.

Brawl Brothers / Rushing Beat players also sounds like a great addition. Thank You.

Too all that have ideas feel free to post sprites.

If you happen to have Photoshop, it will do this as well.

I use gimp which is a photoshop clone but I am not totally clear how they are doing this. I see that if the palettes are not in the already edited sprite it chucks the rest.

I will continue to figure this out.

Thank You for the Vid.

"They" = Me, it's my video. It's an action I recorded where everything outside the colors I want is set to 255, 255, 0 and then the sprite is grabbed by means of inverted color selection. Nothing too hard at all. Takes ~5 minutes to set up for a sprite set.

The benefict of using sprite tracer is on the fly preview, undo, and many other cool things like trim the images, make a sheet, etc

ok so i was thinking for your final chars you could add violent storm golden axe and vendetta make all of the games combine into 1 big gang what you think.

Thanks. Vendetta seems like a great addition! Violent Storm would also be good only with different palettes. Golden Axe does not fight the timeline. May in the next mod we can send the street brawlers back in time to help dish a can of whoop ass to help out the wizards and swordsmen.

Hey what do you guys think about this as a potential candidate???

how about burning force as for golden axe you could add it as a bonus mode for going back in time in the past and include dd and others maybe even cadalac and dinosaurs

Here is a quick preview. Enemy testing.

Many things to work on I know, just a test video guys. This is not a complete stage. Simply testing out an enemy from Riot City (funky mustard pants).

At this point I am focused at this point on ripping sprites, have much to rip. Progress will be slow as I will begin work with my new employer on Monday.

Take Care

Woaw, excellent, your work is perfect, i really love to see all these capcom sprites on the sega game :)
I really wish to test it one day :D
Thanks

nice video.
I got two bugs:

1- FF3 Guy is misaligned. See the difference between him and FF1 Guy. Plus, his feet are misaligned too.
2- Pause at 0:51 (or 0:44) and see the character with orange pants

he is misaligned, his axis is way too low (take a look at his shawdows)

Sorry guys I have been really occupied with my new career. Fyi, I was able to port Batman and slowly working on porting sonic blastman into this module. Will post further progress when I can get more free time.

Good news guys I am back and actually have some more free time to finally get the ball rolling on this one. Working on a re-write to clean up all of the clutter and redundant file duplicates for my first title so that I can drop a one stage demo release.

Working out the Plot. The good thing is that most of these game titles take place in New York, except for Batman. So the story line is slowly coming together.

I have read all of the comments and I am actively working on correcting those issues.

Interested in getting some double dragon action in here but I do not know of a version where the sprites are a bit larger to mix in well with the other players.
