Streets of Rage: The Final Fight is a compilation of Players and Enemies from beat em' up game titles from many platforms. Enemies have teamed up and have taken over now Vigilantes have formed an alliance to fight to regain control of major cities.

will the SOR characters have super moves like the Final Fight characters? or will everything be based upon SOR 3?
 
For the most part the fighting mechanics will be based on SOR3 and the SOR characters will be from the SOR3 release so yes they will also have super moves.
 
Interesting.
I still prefer games adding real new features, but might be interesting to mix up the games! :)

Just curiosity:
How will you make the small sprites of SOR matching FF size?
Also, your title screen looks blurry and not well made, is it definitive?
Will you add new characters? Systems?

It is basically a 123 demonstration image.

Sprites shall be scaled and cleaned up to a standard size.
 
Here is a written update. Will post in game pics sometime next week, hopefully.

I have gone deep with the game plot so far. So the game gets even bigger than originally planned. Mr X teams up with the Mad Gear Gang, the Shredder and the Foot Clan, the Evil DragonNinja, BossMan, and more to come. Together they take over all of the Major Cities; Bla Bla Bla we have to take them down.... Fight.

For the playable characters you have all of the good guys from

So far the players have been imported and the rest is very time consuming.
Whats going on?

*Importing enemies from all game series.
*Importing stages, and editing all layers so stage has a polished appearance.
*Oh yeah and some of the players in the Final Fight series will be resized because they are too dam tall. Like Carlos and Lucia...jeez. It like fighting as basket ball players.
*Max will also be resized because he is way to big having him idle next to Haggar makes Haggar Look like a little boy.

What I need? Read Below

*Enemy sprites for Riot Zone. Having a hard time finding enemy sprites for Riot Zone. :(

*The Stages from Streets of Rage 3 and their destructible objects.

*The best foot clan sprites on the internet. (I will to re-edit them to make them resemble the foot clan from the 1990 film.)

*Sound effects and the OST for the fighting games listed.

*Maybe even a voice generator that can I can save the name of each player in a wav file and have them announced as each player is selected.

If anyone is interested in contributing some time and skills to with this project drop me a message..
 
Btw, original select screen and title screen have been changed to something else.
 
Some quick tips:

you need to pay attention to this stage. I saw the same error on other mod (I think its FF Gold): It the background is that dark, the streets can't be so bright, you need to darken it and maybe change its color (because is the atmosphere is kinda purpleish, everything needs to be on the same tone.

Max will also be resized because he is way to big having him idle next to Haggar makes Haggar Look like a little boy.
Just remember that Max is, at least, more "muscular" than Haggar.

Nice roster, btw. But would the guys from Bad Dudes contribute with anything different?
 
I think it's not in FF Gold, Pierwolf edited BG color to match some night color style.
But this is not the point :)

About scalling characters, yes, Max might really be stronger than Haggar.

Also I think display ratio of different games make the mix a little weird.

Sorry, but just looking at Cody facing Axel in select screen make it really strange.
Axel looks really compressed... Something that never causes problem in SOR games, but the confrontation of both styles make it weird.

Also, some color edit, can make really good results to mix it up.

I'm on a rush, but I would gladly show you how to fix it.

About enemies, IMO you don't really need to have every single existing character of every of the games you're talking about.

Mixing up is always better IMO. Just respect a little logic to have all the archetypes of characters on your game (big guys, regular punks, projectile launchers, rushers, jumpers...)

Indeed. SNES graphics has a more pale colors, and Genesis have more intense colors. Maybe the graphics from Final Fight CD (Mega DC) could fit more.

True indeed. That stage was in an early beta it was from another bor mod, Perhaps the one you mentioned. It was removed long ago. Those pictures are in the early stages and much has changed. Thank you for that solid advice it makes perfect sense and I will apply that to all of my stages.

True indeed, once all of the players and enemies are inserted and up to par I will definitely tweak those good old color palettes to add some life to those pail snes sprites.

Oh yess.... all of the players and some enemies will have new animations, specials, and attack types / combinations.

for example the "bad dudes" are planned to have two combo attack combinations, two jump attacks, two specials, two free specials, the ability to run and perform run attacks, pickup and use weapons, grapple attacks and throws.

That is the time consuming tricky part. Creating new sprites, jeeezz. But it is so worth it man.

All players will be able to coexist together because they all will have an equal combat variety in order to maintain a balanced gameplay.
 
this is an intresting idea and personally i would get my source from spriters resource if its still around also perhaps mugen forums but be sure to get permission if possible as for the mixture of chars well your gonna have to make the chars stand out the same size and put more color into snes ones espeically  cause as people say snes and sega genesis are 2 diffrent  color schemes as well as sprite look i will gladly help you out by finding some nice sound effects as well as some other stuff you ask for and best of luck with your mod its gonna be awesome i hope each char will have equal attack abiltties to make it more fair maybe you could include the guns rom tmnt 2 arcade also i think this game would look best with a widescreen raio effect rather then standard i could picture it now

Please continue to post all that you think that I may find useful. That goes for everyone.

These were direct rips done by my friend CajNatalie when she made a mod for SORmaker recreating SOR3/BK3, so we keep them for resources whoever needs them. The empty/transparent spaces are set in absolute black (RGB 0 0 0) and the darkest areas are usually in RGB 2 2 2 or something that prevents absolute dark (this is because in SORmaker, the absolute black is considered as a transparence).

Anyways, hope these are useful for you. Has everything sorted out in scrollers, layers, animations and whatnot.
