Wow!
Impressive work! 8)
I suppose it's done by cutting limbs from existing sprites and using a rigging work in Spriter to animate it.
I'm not familiar with all of that, I might be completely wrong about the actual method.
Also, I'm very curious to know it it keeps the right colors after rotating limbs, and no blurry pixel... This part is important!

I would love to learn, because I use similar method, but I do it limb by limb.
Like "I need this straignt horizontal arm" but I need it in 45 degree angle., I open it in Rotsprite then paste it in my work file.
Yes, I know my method is very very long... This is why I'm so slow when I sprite.

Great, keep coming with first impressions and incosistencies you see because after animating for a couple hours i just got used to some stuff and first impression ususally tells right away whats incorrect.
So which version do you prefere?
I look for body parts that are shaded in 3 different ways, and then swap them when needed. so bicep has 3 images when its rotating etc. This makes it look more natural, you cant just use one image and expect it to work , sometimes when shading is qutie flat you can but here sprites are shaded.

I dunno if its just me, but also something about the right hip movement seems a bit off? and the right leg seems to be a bit longer? I cant describe it properly sorry.

But definitely the 12 frame version looks better.

The walk motion looks super fluid and smoother! Excellent job, bWWd!

yeah, if youre ok with that i can take the rest of the frames and prepare them to animate remaining characters at any time you wish.
Also if you wish to redo some existing animations i can help with that.
If you would like to provide some reference animations from other chaacters that i could use as a guide thats also helpful. It makes sure you get what you want as a animate these frame by frame.

impressive again. WOW!
I personally thing she could have some tweaks to walk in a slightly more feminine way.
OK, she's a fighter. But in a lot of her animations, she have some female-like posing (It is just my opinion)
Something very common in fighting games women.

It's particularly visible in the position of feet, or hands... I think she just need (a bit) of that to be Mary, actually.

Again, I'm really impressed by the quality of the result! 8)

That is a good start!

Things I noticed are:
- from frame 4, it seems like her left thigh disappears. I think its just the perspective, and the my eye's focus on the belt that makes it seem odd.
- her lower legs seem a bit too short. I'll add a pic at the bottom, makes her look much shorter than she should be, kinda like she was squashed down
- her right arm's bicep seems to grow when the arm extends, and shrink when it flexes, body-wise it should be the opposite.

I also agree with Ned on this, but that was my fault, I didnt indicate that to you.

OK , second revision , its not cleaned up yet
If you have something else in mind then some reference of walking animation would be helpful.

About revision 2, she looks almost as if she is walking a tight rope, or tiptoeing... not sure if that makes sense to you,
The transition of the knees to its highest point seems to just pop in, like if she was doing a knee strike, it's a bit hard to explain
The first version just seemed smoother somehow

I couldnt find anything exactly like what I pictured in my head.
But I guess Blaze would be a good as any reference

Also, Gal from Fight'n Rage, obviously with out the excessive bounce. I couldnt find her sprites, so here is a video

Yea so its  actually more similar to 1st version and hands with less motion
Not like this

If you have some more references, post them.Cause we can go rounds and rounds with it.

Yeah, I think Litchi would work better for Mai, since Mai is more sexual in a way.
Mary is the more athletic type
I'll keep looking around, but I dont wanna let you work and then I throw something out there and you have to redo everything.

Yes, woman walking is not easy without reference.
And it's true that Litchy walks a bit too sexy for Mary. It would be a good base for Mai Shiranui. (I agree totally with that)

Yes, perhaps, Blaze is the best reference.
They did a good work in recreating this classic animation in sOR4

I used Blaze from SOR3 as a base for my main character, in my project.
You can see in this old WIP picture that it's Blaze way to walk. Walk like a woman, but not too sexy.

I think the main aspect is the back bone, it have to stay straight when the girl walk, and hips a bit "arched backward"

Ok last one, its based on Blaze

I still think the first one is best one, and blaze kinda walks like shermie , a bit too elegant , not like mary which moves a bit like sloppy teenage girl, almost like a kid.But her run is normal. She already has this kind of walking animation in original sheet but shes angled differently towards camera.
