Recording OpenBOR videos at 60 FPS

O Ilusionista

Captain 100K
There are many softwares and many ways to record videos, but this is the one I've developed since long time ago and works pretty fine.

You will need the following softwares:
- Bandicam
- Freemake Video Converter
Both have free and paid versions.

1- Open Bandicam and go to video settings

2- Under settings, I've choose this (you can opt for 720 instead, since we will reduce it later anyway)

3- At OpenBOR, I've changed my settings to this:

So the game will be played in 960x544 with no pixel effect, but will be recorded at a higher resolution

4- The video would be huge, so to reduce it size, I use the Freemake Video Converter.

5- Add the video in Freemake Video Converter then choose MP4 as output and customize the settings like this

This will give a nice quality video at 60fps with good size too ;)

I use this method for my Mugen videos too, by the way.

If your using Nvidia or Amd card the latest drivers have built in software to record video.  Amd - Relive and Nvidia - Shadowplay both have little to no impact on game speed (not that openbor should slow down your PC).  But if you are using Microsoft Hd Graphics (sorry to hear that) then the above method might be better for you.

I use potplayer, its video player but can capture screen, you can resize captiure area and use whatever codec you wish, whatever fps and all that.

O Ilusionista Did you design all of that software? I will buy all the full versions now! I can use all of them for several different things I'm certain. That works easy and your instructions are great! Nice work! Thanks a million!

No, they are made by their respective companies :)
I misread sorry. I do like that company though and the prices are very fair. I liked the way you broke things it down, simple. You make it easier for the beginner. DC sent me to the sound part of the manual and with your small Video tutorial, I had things going within a couple hours. So appreciative to you both for that. You're Avengers game is good ol' arcade button mashing fun. It was like the 3rd or 4th game I tried. I always dug the Marvel arcade games. You kind of freshened up things. I have really enjoyed learning from all you guys. Only found out about OB games last year. Props to you for great tutorials and cool  new experience. You took an old arcade favorite to a whole new level.
