Proposal for the OpenBOR community activity.

I've been thinking about it for a while.

I'd like to give the community some spice by offering something interesting.

My proposal would be to create a group that rewards the best creations on the OpenBOR platform.

The most original, creative and special.

Announcing perhaps some good news and entering a competition organized for all creators who want to join the initiative.

The cash gift (which could be the sum of a collective donation), would be a recognition of the entire community, to the work done by each individual (or group) of people, who with their passion, knows how to capture free beauty and carefree game. (but also superfine art of the game)

It would only be necessary to inform the community, with a single center (digital address, for example) of fundraising.

In my opinion, it could be done here directly on the forum instead of elsewhere.

Result: in other places, this community could be advertised and all followers of other digital platforms could be redirected to this specific forum (or to the presentation and donation page).

Purpose: to present new creators and new recruits, eager to imagine and dream with the same passion.

Increase in the catchment area.

This community, as a Mother, Teacher and Supporter of the art of the game on the OpenBOR platform and its language.

:)

If you have other ideas and improvements, let us know in your comments

Can I be honest?
The idea is awesome, but I don't think it would work here and would bring trouble.
Because some creators doesn't like (or can't handle) feedback, or do prefer to blame everyone/the forum/the engine for their own mistakes... and will get "their feelings hurt" In no time.

haha, were a bunch of old dudes with kids  ;D most of us
Some of us barely find time to code in openbor but if theres some idea for competition or something , im not against it, but that could also bring some drama and someone spends 10000 hours drawing stickman game while someone else spends 3 days creating one level of beautiful game. That first guy will be angry if he will lose.
I remember taking part in competition once on other forums, it totally destroyed community, like killed it, jealousy and personal attacks on pms because of "cheating" and using functions other people didnt wanted to learn ( like scripted openBOR mods vs BOR mods).Theres a good chance it will end badly especially if theres $$$ involved.

In short, gentlemen, you are telling me perhaps:

that even in the simple game, the passion would soon turn into a weapon to kill others?

WOW! The human race is always more beautiful!

I would recommend at least one reading of the Samurai Code, before starting to create! ;D

Simple competitions for example best sprite edit or best background, best music for game etc, will be much better than entire game. These are doable cause its just one skill thats being judged.Theres lots of cummunity forums with monthly competitions going on, graphic or music oriented, these work great.

This is also a great point of view!

In OP I mentioned the individual users, who will certainly be Bushido Warriors already trained and I refer in particular to Veterans. (hence, his full game)

An example of Bushido? bWWd ;D

What you mention could be expanded with group synergy!

For example, those who are good with backgrounds could work with those who are good with sprites, who could work with those who are good with music and sound effects, with those who are good with the history of the game, etc.

This would create a close-knit group, in which the best skills of each individual converge.

Probable result: every creator would give the best of himself in that specific skill and contribute to creating a wonderful game!

What would be avoided: precisely the problem of jealousy and envy.

There would only be a lot of cooperation between the boys.

So two or more groups, who will compete as Samurai and demonstrate their best talent.

Obviously, the prize would not only be in cash, but could also be special items, clothes or other items (from the staff and all community users who wanted to contribute) with which to reward all other participants.

So, based on the beauty and complexity of backgrounds, sprites, animations, etc. For example, the specific section of a game is rewarded rather than another. (and through a tribute to this skill)

Finally, the game will be rewarded for its complexity and completeness, which could balance all the aspects that constitute a game.

The beauty of all this, I believe, will also be reflected in the group experience, as a formative goal, as experience and as personal growth.

It could also increase respect and tolerance among the various creators, in a serene and cordial atmosphere, but also close-knit and passionate.

All having Fun!
