Canceled Lost Critters

Project is halted prior to completion and will not receive further updates.

I'm working on new game with cooperative feature, similar to Lost Vikings series. Here's an early preview of the gameplay:

The video shows how to switch between three creatures to open door, destroy obstacles and block fireballs. Currently the goal is reaching gate at end of the level
Heath display and score are temporary (the latter is going to be removed)

That's a very awesome feature I see right there, Bloodbane! I love how this co-op for the 3 players goes. Looking forward to it.

Impressive!
You always surprise us with new systems experiments.
This type of feature can be very useful!

Would it be possible to have "A" controlled by Player when "B" and "C" plays by themselves using AI (npc type characters).
Then player can swap control to "B" and "A" became controlled by AI.

Your feature gives me ideas for tag team fights in wrestling game, where the player can tag to his teamate.

Good luck with the updates.

Thanks guys  ;D

Yes, probably that's what lagarto did in his Super Tokusatsu Onore demo. Whatever method he's using, I've proved that it's possible to switch from 3 different characters in beat'mup i.e one player and the other two are NPCs
Though the transition might be a little unstable cause the other characters are mostly active so you might switch to a character who's in middle of combo. In Lost Vikings series, it's more stable as the other characters are mostly idle

I was mostly asking my self if the 3 entities are players.
But I have my reply now, so you can swap from npc to npc...
Anyway the feature is great!

great idea and well executed I loved the lost vikings game completed it too.  I look forward to updates on this.

Another video showing more features:

I believe the video is clear enough to show new door, new button and pushing box ability. Though I should mention that pushing box ability is unique to Golem only :)

I'm curious to know how many nigmas (puzzles?) you have in mind, BB. This project requires not only coding knowledges but also having a good mind for smart game designs!

Of course I know some puzzles. Not to mention, I've learned some from other games from Lost Vikings series too :D
And I could make some myself too

could make it that flying creature has to pick him up to lift him off ground slightly or something

Thanks for the idea but no, it would be better if Golem could jump on its own

Back to game, I've made first enemy for this game:
Zombo
Zombo_zps6cioec7e.gif

Walks slow and back n forth but it can bite ;)

I also have completed second and third level. Both plays great and are good enough for early levels :)

That's a very nice looking enemy you made, Bloodbane. :D You could make one leg move forward while the other leg behind could move back, so that it could have a good walking transition. That's okay, that's your first enemy you made. Keep up, Blood.

Great!!
Anyway the walk motion seems uncomplete (leg move)??
Glad to see some "new faces" :D

I decided to name this game to Lost Critters  ;D (similar to Lost Vikings with the word Lost in it)

About Zombo, I've updated its walking frame a bit and now it looks more convincing.

Another updates:

The video shows new feature called darkness. The only source of light is Mata (the flying eye critter). Mata must guide its friends while the others open the path for it
The video also shows stronger debris and bigger box to push

Fourth level has been done also however I feel like I should make another level with lower difficulty before that level

Oh about the cracked blocks at end of video, I'll record another video about them. Stay tuned ;)
