Anyway i tried to make these black outlined backgrounds to work and its kinda ok but im not super convinced by it and im still not sure if i will use them

Toned down saturation and added some more shapes to stage so it fits better with bg

Id like to add some freeze attacks and burn attacks to enemies but i dont know which ones should have them, also i dont want to have 2 enemies with the same kind of attacks, id like to have every type of enemy to have a bit different attacks besides regular punch/kick.
 
the only problem you will have with sorceress is that she loses all her powers when she leaves castle greyskull
 
i know but they bent that rule a bit a couple of times so it wouldnt be too hard to figure out some excuses, but it is weird to see her on that background  ;D

This is great! but not better by switching Sorceress to Teela?
 
I think he intends to have both i like that she is playable she was my fav heman char.. So is this just a heman game now?
 
I can create any character so dont worry, i wasnt watching many she-ra episodes when i was a kid, i got introduced to she-ra when i was about 20 years old maybe so im not that sentimental about it but i will create she-ra and maybe some other character from that show besides obvious hordak.

bWWd, you're a wizard! This game is like a dream coming true! :) Even though I'd like to see Teela instead of Sorceress, I'm very pleased with the game progress so far. Oh, beautiful childhood memories...

I don't know how powerful BOR engine is, but it doesn't hurt to ask: Is it possible to add something like an animated super move, for example, He-Man's punching at the screen, like in the opening of the TV show? :D That would be really cool. But, even without it, what I've seen so far is trully amazing.
 
This game is 960x480, i dont think i could find he-man episode in 960 resolution, it would have to be upscaled from biggest released resolution which is pal dvd 720x576, i thought about that , im not sure how it would work in 4player game but i will experiment with this.
I had worries about using black outlined backgrounds from the show but i think its one of the best looking backgrounds in the game now.
Bloodbane i had a hard time to figure out some moves so i just slapped what i had, i would like to change some of the jump kicks but i need some inspiration for this.

I like alpha effects and would like to have them on all stages but im noticing slowdowns even on pc so im not using fog anymore...
 
This might be because they are large sprites/images. 
Perhaps if they can be split up somehow, like tiles.

Also if your panels are single large images you could try splitting them into tiles, it might reduce the load so effects can be used more, this is good practice anyway. 

I finally noticed slow downs in some long stages in Doom mod (that's using same resolution), splitting the panel image up fixed the problem. 

I'd always planned to do that anyway, but was leaving it until last once the stages and panels were final.
 
my panels are short, background images are longer, i did experiment and tried very small piece as fog and it lagged the game terribly, more than very large piece because it was repeated many times to fill entire screen, so i think i would have to experiment what size is the most optimal without slowdowns in this resolution.

I remade this skeletor anim using spriter instead of stickman and i got cleaner output without any blur so i can use it at original size which is quite big but i would like the game to have some big bosses as enemies, something i really like in new games but we didnt had in old 2d beatemups because of memory problems and stuff, now were not limited  so we can have big boss characters.
