Sorry to revive this topic, but I dowloaded this and tried to use the .pak file with the mac binaries of openbor and it won't boot up, citing a problem finding the function 'changeLv' while loading the scripts.

Here's the log:

Can't compile script!

I just started using openbor and haven't checked out the svn repo, so I don't have the borpak tool yet (the binary in the mac release won't run on my mac for some reason). What are my next steps here? Should I just switch to PC?

Hello, i'm trying to run this on a PSP without luck so far.

I'm using OpenBor v3 from here http://sourceforge.net/projects/openbor/
I have a PSP 3004 with CFW 6.60 PRO-C2
When i run the game (v3.3) it loads a bit and exit to XMB.

Ideas appreciated.  :D

Edit: Solved by downgrading to OpenBor v3.0_Build_3789 as explained on another game.

Hi. Is this mod still available? The links on the front page of the thread are dead. Can someone provide alternative links?

I downloaded this game around a week ago and the link from zippyshare is still working.

Warning: redundant sentences ahead.
I am just playing this from some days (a year ago I tried an early version as well where it had problems on NPCs dialgoues) and it's all great. For the record I'm using the fighter, cleared all easy quests and two normal with one life, but I am sure my adventure will end with Game Over, for now... Anyway the difficulty is fair, as the enemies animations have the right speed so that the player is alerted in time to use the defence move (unlike in the original Capcom counterparts), giving the battles a “defend – hit” dialogue, unlike in even the best beat 'em ups, where enemies are pure punch bags and can doom you with two hits when they have the rare chance to hit you.(I had in mind a system to implement something on this matter if I ever started to create for Openbor, anybody recalls the fights from the 70's kungfu movies, full of parries and counter attacks?).
I personally find very positive the all male roster (as in your previous King of Dragons), it gives that classic epicness and gravity that sadly seems disappeared forever. Moves are easy to execute and the musics you selected are grandiose, my favourite being Blade Fighter by Two Steps from Hell. I would like to see an aesthetic change on the characters when they become stronger, as the games where you got the heroes from have this feature, what about it?

It's an (or The) Openbor masterpiece, thank you for your work.

Edit: I completed it (I didn't expect it) with Tower of Doom as Final quest and lost 2 lives there!

Just to complete tull's quick review : recently I restarted this game and found out that the 3 Arcade Quests give the game a great replay value ! It's very nice to try the different chars with all their moves and see what different gameplay each one needs :D

I recently downloaded this and played it through in it's entirety.

Some comments:

1. This game is SOOO addictive. I've already lost like, 10 hours to this thing, which is a lot for a guy who can maybe squeeze out 5 hours of gaming a week.

2. After I finish endless quest, I wasn't able to save my progress with any of the other modes. (i.e. the endless quest with characters unlocked) Not sure if this was intentional or not.

3. This is not really the game designer's fault, since it's the holdover from original games, but I have really come to dislike the universal guarding mechanic. The guard mechanic is the single MOST important mechanic to master in this game, to the point that literally, every other skill is kind of irrelevant. Positioning? doesn't matter that much. Damaging combos? yeah sure, but not that important. But guarding? Without it, the later missions are downright impossible. It was implemented well here and the game really forces you to take full advantage of it, but to me it made me feel like a lot of the character's kind of play the same as a result. i.e. playing a dwarf is not all that different from playing a fighter, or playing the knights, or the paladin. Again, this is not a ding against the designers, as they actually did a REALLY good job exploiting and layering the guard mechanic into the level designs, but it really goes a long way in making people feel the same.

Take this in contrast to say, Streets of Rage 2, where despite having universal controls, each character plays DRASTICALLY differently. The main reason why is because the fundamental moves themselves are drastically different as well, and there is no universal way to get around every obstacle.

Here, however, there is. Everything comes down to blocking. Whether or you block and retaliate, or block and move and cast big spell, or block and move and shoot, that's different. but the core is the same, block first, then do something. In later levels where you really get a bunch of enemies crowding you at the same time, you pretty much HAVE to do this. I find myself doing a block, and then mentally counting down to how much time I have left before my invincibility wears off and I'm back to blocking again.

To my knowledge, the block can stop just about everything except the last dragon's breath. (And that is subsequently the first boss I actually really started losing lives on) Again, making it the most important mechanic to learn.

As the block feature is the main point of your debate I want to mention an exploitable bug, even though I don't know if it will be fixed after so much time has passed. This allows characters with short ranged attacks to overcome their handicap and overall benefits every player, so if anyone doesn't want to spoil the game please don't read the next sentence. Face the shoulders towards enemies that are going to charge instead of the usual frontal way and block the attack, the hit will lure you closer to them instead of being distanced, now you are close to your preys and invincible, profit! Even without this trick the game becomes easier the more you advance, as it happens in most RPGs.

And as I am at it...
Several characters, especially the unlockable ones, are overpowered ( the Paladin's first special move for example). A few details like the defense animations of some heroes as Thief and Elf don't convince me, given their qualities based on agility and speed, they could have some dodge animation (I think about Secret of Mana like) rather than blocking the hits with their frail body (maybe Elf uses magic but you get my point), weaker than a muscular warrior that still needs a shield; I won't go any further, it's mostly about aesthetic and videogame-logic problems rather than anything else.
Positive mention to the countless hordes of enemies in the advanced stages, defeating them with the new godlike abilities is satisfying. The problem about offering a big roster of characters is to have some very similar between them (they are a smooth transition between the extremes of warrior - magician) but it's worth the price in the long distance: when you want to resume the game after many months, you can use characters that you ignored in the first place. Perhaps some hero could benefit with a grab ability that damages close enemies too, as this game relies on a high number of foes, and damaging only one with a grab or throw would be pointless in the advanced stages.
I confirm that this game is very addictive, indeed I managed to complete all the normal quests several times with almost all the characters until I abandoned it some months ago, but I'll return to slay SPOILER Bloodbane SPOILER and co. again (nothing personal but it's for the game's sake, and I wish him to complete his project with the Count!).

:o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o 8) 8) 8) 8)Ei, não sei oque está havendo com o link, de download, mas nenhum está pegando. Todos estão acusando o game de ser deletado, alguém sabe algum link, para baixar a Ver 3.3 do Knights & Dragons: The Quest infinitas?

ok, let me help.

Deco is asking about updated links to KnD v3.3, because they don't seem to work. I tried the link at the first post and yes, some of them are down - but I managed to grab the pak from http://www9.zippyshare.com/v/83440789/file.html

Well, I'm still (slowly) downloading anyway...

By the way, why isn't this game uploaded here?  :/

Hey guys, you can be certain of Char Alucard: Castlevania and if it could be included in this game? Type a different character, always liked him. if anyone has this caliber ..........  ;D ;D ;D ;D

I'm not sure if this could be addressed before, but the horse levels are quite buggy (and annoying, especially in the dinosaur part is basically a life sink, too difficult to move and avoid being attacked by the Pterodactyls), but this is not the issue, the issue is that the game keeps crashing randomly during the course of the scene and it has become a game breaker, especially in the Fort Doom mission: the game just keep crashing. :-\

Pierwolf, a quick report:

- In the last stage before you fight Bloodbane, a red cave with many dragons, there is a problem with the spawn and respawn. The player is spawned over a wall and you can't jump back to the floor. I was stuck when I died and I was just able to pass the stage using Elf's duplicate magic (the npc was able to jump to the floor, but not me). Just at the end of stage I was able to jump to the floor.

Pierwolf: one word: brilliant!
and this extends to the creators of BOR ofcourse.

I`m trying to play it on a PSP-1001.

I try 3742, 3789, 3842, 4082 OpenBOR Build´s, always stop in loading screen at start... :(

What should i do? I really want to play it on my PSP. :-\
