Hello guys, sorry to bring the subject here.
But I'm scared by the epidemic we have in the world now.

I'm in France, and I know the situation will be just like in Italy.
People says mostly old people can die from it, but it still makes me very stressed.
I already started staying at home ang going out just by night when no one is around.
But I always have this kind of feeling it will never finish...
I can hardly eat and sleep.  :-[

I'm not waiting for any magical stuff to say, but I had to say it here.
I would like to feel better, but I have no solution right now.

The right thing is to wash your hands with alcohol always and use N95 mask and discard it, the mask can have the coronavirus in it, avoid going out in the crowd, give a cap for now.

I'm sad you feel this way, Ned. I think I can't appease you but as long as you follow the recommandations, the probabilities for you to be infected will be very low. It's impressive and unpleasant to live this way but it's merely the most reasonable one for the moment. That said, you still can go out the day as long as you avoid contacts with people.

No eating and sleeping is going to stress your body out and lower your immune system and then you definitely will get sick, eat plenty, get lots of rest and try to avoid watching the news and social media, watch some of your favourite comedy films and maybe get some sex if you can, stay hydrated, clean your hands and face regularly and relax, you'll be ok Ned

You have to be patient. In Spain there is also the difficult problem, this situation seems incredible. They only let you out for essentials

Thanks guys.
We had a great change in the last 3 days, people start to take it seriously.
I was careful for at least 3 weeks now.

I'm fedup by people ignoring it and just living exactly normally without beiing careful at all
And also people craziness in supermarket just like if it was war.

I didn't connected to social medias for 1 month, but still using Twitch, Youtube etc

Thanks again, guys.

Let me quote Bene Gesserit's Litany against fear:
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Well, Covid-19 has arrived at Indonesia too but I'm not worry cause people infected with the virus can recover  :D

so stay health and stay positive  8)

Thanks.
I think, my logic understand the situation and the fact this is not that bad.
But my "inner mind" cannot make me feel unaffected. I really feel like it's war or everybody will die.

I would not take, too seriously, how far the news media can drive the issue. Ratings and agendas are far more important to them, than our safety, or peace of mind. People have recovered from the virus, and many out there have dodged it. It's not this super infectious thing that you can catch by being simply being in the same town as it, you simply have to be near it like any other contagious illness, in order to catch it. I would treat it more as an outbreak of a flu, rather than the zombie apocalypse. I am not pleased with what it has to do with events everywhere, and most of my concerns are how much it can limit what we normally do, rather than catching it. Remember that most people that die from it are elderly, and have other underlying illnesses. I don't know the extent on how far it can go to those who are young and healthy, but a lot of recoveries are happening, and there are many out there that have not caught it.

That being said, don't take it lightly just because the news media exaggerates, and because you are young and healthy. Keep your hands washed, try not to touch your face while in a public setting, and if you hear coughs, hold your breath. I might also suggest subjecting yourself to warmer temperatures if you feel like you have anything. As crazy as this may sound, it may not be a bad idea to attempt to sweat it out of your system. I don't know if that will work, but it is worth a try.

well it is not that bad for relative young ppl and so far seems to be harmless or asintomatic in kids which is in part a relief in my case(have 3 year old daughter), however it is quite fatal for old folks and that do concerns me a lot, my mother is way ahead in the risk table plus loungs deplited due to cigarret, i know a normal flu could complicate her situation but this Covid-19 is very agresive and the way it spreads too, she have only me to care for her, i take all the precautions but still have to work to bring food home, good thing so far there are no reports of infected ppl near here(small town argentina) prey this thing get a vacine soon so the old ones dont have to stay locked for ever, have 2 cousins on italy, they are fine so far, hope they stay that way.

Indeed,

A insteresting social  experiment either way. It is curious to see how Information outlets off all kinds are driving this thing.

I kid you not, there is an asian movie about it & i thought it was one of those things that come out to take advantage & make cash of the situation, turns out that it was made about 1 to2 years in advance based on "rumors" about weird things going on in Asia.

my local friendly neighborhood bluray pirate-Man has a copy & i will find more info about it.

In the meantime, the responses seem to be a bit too much  IMO based on what they tell us of how the virus works, but it does show how effective it is to corral in the masses using just the media in some parts of the world.

& if you are in a place where the quarantine is enforced by authorities... that really stinks.
Lets hope some bastards in power positions don't use this opportunity to do some "social Engineering"

Whats worse than the actual virus itself is how people are panic buying and leaving stores empty, I had to go to 5 different stores all around the city just to get some toilet paper and baby food, panic buying has a knock on effect, for example buying wet wipes because there is no toilet paper, so not only is there no toilet paper .... theres no wet wipes now, a percentage of those people will start flushing wet/baby wipes down the toilet and blocking the sewer system because they are stupid, can you imagine what that would lead to, I lived in India for awhile so I can survive without toilet paper for months but its peoples dumb ass stupid behaviour that's gonna make this shit pandemic even worse.

Thanks for your messages guys.
Yes, it's ppl's reaction that scare me.
Also big news TV shows. (I don't even have tv at home, but watched one of these shows on PC few days ago and got stressed)
Yesterday, our president took a decision to put ppl inside home for 15 days (FINALLY!!) beside of the important stuff.
I think we will need more than 15days definitely, I'm ready for it.
As some of you knows, I'm an art teacher, and I'm affraid to have been exposed to something from the kids (last time was 1 week ago)
Actually I didn't went out for 3 days now. And I start to feel better (a bit)

I can't wait we reach the peak, so it slowly decrease...
Thanks again for your good messages.

Correct, if thing gets zombie apocalypse levels worse, it is the stuff hoarding cretins the first on my list of people that im going to eat.
& ill try to distribute the stuff to the weakest.

there is plenty of stuff for everyone, its just hard to coordinate efforts & distribute things in a fair manner in some places.

my country is not that bad, & id be the first one to volunteer if there is a need to fairly distribute goods around, but a little something tells me that any of those well meaning plans don't last for very long in my nick of the woods, my people are not known for their fairness nor discipline (we have a corruption index below 30 out of a 100)....

I don't want to offend, but you should not be worried, it seems that you are a healthy person, & as far as i know you have no vulnerabilities..
it stinks if you have frail members of your family tho, they will have to isolate themselves as much as possible within your own homes  - probably - to avoid any risks

it stinks that i can't think of a better way tho, if we want the virus to "die off " isolating ourselves is the best way.

The other alternative is to Isolate the weak & work fast to find a cure while the strong move about normally, but that may also increase the risk of allowing the virus to mutate into a deadlier disease.

either way, people's true colors are the thing to look out for:

I don't have perfect health.
But I don't think I'm a vulnerable person (I mean in big danger)

I did'nt checked the video.
It seems to be very long and in english, I cannot concentrate in english language listening. (Im not good in listening english)
Particularly right now.

If there's anyone from Manchester u.k having any trouble getting food or baby products or they want me to check on an elderly relative because you can't then let me know. Don't mind sending you my full details and I.D if you need help with the elderly

Wow that  is very nice of you danno your a real saint.  I think this is all a over reaction but it can not be denied the death count is rising.  I have just been self isolated for 2 weeks from work.  It looks like London is getting ready for a quarantine too crazy times hope this all blows over soon.

danno, just be careful man,
i have heard weird stories from the UK about violent places, (i give them about less than 18 % credibility, but still)

well , lets put it this way, try to go out & do your thing with company or groups of 3, & something to defend yourself with...

Edit: the movie was a Korean movie called "the flu"

it was made in 2103,

the disinformation comes from the fact the the Bootleg Bluray/Dvd cover has been re-named to "coronavirus: the begginning" so in this case, My country's pirate basterds are cashing in with the current situation....

i still have to confirm this, by watching it & comparing any online streams that i find

msmalik681 looks like we'll be getting some more Tekken battles in  :D

I used to live in an area called Moss Side which was a really violent place but recently moved home due to the birth of my son, I grew up around drugs and murders so I'm used to gangs and killings but I won't go too much into that, just don't want my son growing up around it, I personally won't have a problem if things get violent, the most vulnerable like the disabled and elderly get over looked in times of crisis because peoples survival of the fittest mentality kicks in, especially now with this virus they are even more vulnerable and at risk and due to things like panic buying my local supermarket over the last few days has become almost empty, I can spend all day going to 20 different shops but most old folk can't,
