idle animation first step

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7eQwnxVjSN8

I use 1 sprite for Idle animation, I don't really care how boring it looks because no one really cares as long has all your other animations look nice and smooth, having 1 sprite/frame in your walk animation will be weird though.

as 16-bit Fighter said learning from the manual is something you need to do too.

so my offset for idle is 36 101 according to the sprite

I use adobe photoshop to find my offsets (white dot) measurements (pink circle)  and bbox ( green box)

Wombat i do this for over 10 , actually over 15 years and i still use manual, i think you should read it whole at least once, just to realize whats possible to do and what you can control.
You can use whatever amount of frames you want, you can use one frame , or you can set it to  frame NONE and it would display empty invisible frame, there is a limit to it but its very superhigh

Use a visual editor like Openborstats, its easy to see offsets etc. it is highly recommended

Thanks I lowered the second value and he appears to be walking on flat ground now...but I will try that because I am sure I will need it for another time

Trust me, try it now and see what it does firsthand. It will save you so much time and stress.

I will. Thanks again for the tip....it's looking great so far, I never dreamed I be this far so fast, I have literally made progress everyday. Sill have my questions but now that I found the sprites and the ability to get sounds its coming together nicely. I really want to make something of my own concept. I spent a lot of time on the backstory and now that I see I can do it,  it just gives me the incentive to want to add more. I don't want it to be dull or average. I really appreciate all your kind help.
