I always wanted to make a golden axe game myself, and my idea was to use the claw enemy from the GA2 Genesis game but with a different head (like a white mohawk), making it a new playable character and not just an enemy
In this game, can be possible too to create enemies like he-man.

In fact, dont forget that he-man and the masters of the universe and golden axe, both things drinks of the sucess of Conan the barbarian.

By the way, a new he-man game comes this christmas, along other of the toxic crusaders and plus terminator 2 no fate.

Lets see if they can do it right. Never was a sucessful he-man game in the past.

Ps: Im a big fan of conan the barbarian and is fun to watch the first and second movie, to see elements used on the first golden axe and revenge of death adder arcade games... 😊

Also, another cool toy figures of the time, were the Galaxy warriors or galaxy fighters bootleg figures.

They could had been used for inspiration on a golden axe fangame too.

Look, playing maximus 2 street gladiators, i noticed a lot of copied things from various games or movies.

Some came from Shadow warriors, the ninja gaiden arcade game.

Well, in the final stage of that arcade game, there was demons on the windows church...

in maximus 2 looks like they took those demon windows draws and maked complete enemy demons from these...

could be super cool do the same with that green hero statue, at the end of the final stage, in the golden axe sega genesis version.

See this openbors makes me very happy.😋

I was like 7 years without computer, it crash 😢 and i was only playing metal slug attack on cell phone and working.

I saw how the engine grows during this years, and is very promising.

Now im playing castle crashers 3.0, and previously i played maximus 2 street gladiators, and to be honest, i think that today the leveling element is very important for get replayability on a beat em up.

Anyway, im prety excited about this awesome golden axe remake.

Ps: It looks that today, is a fashion make an enemies playable version in both romh#cks or fangames.😁

Did you know guys, that final fight pc fanremake?

Is awesome too. It have his own engine, and is avaliable on youtube.

His creator channel is named "big blue frontend", and the fangame.comes disguised as "photos" on his blog, for avoid google erase it.

It also contains EVERY enemy on the game playable.

Also, i found on youtube a golden axe 3 final boss h#ck with him playable too.

Saddly, there was some other bosses playable, but the creator only released that final boss version only.

Thats why because i say this is like a fashion.
 
Anyway, very good work and promising proyect.

I really hope sega will not put his hands on this again...

They destroyed streets of rage remake, making his creator cannot share it on his website instead of hired him.

They also attacked the poor zvitor and his brillant golden axe returns, and now that awesome game cant be found on his website or in gamejolt.

I cannot undertand this ugly behaviour.

Other companies like capcom, even share on his website the fangames done by their fans, as street fighter versus megaman.

Pd: looking your ability kimono, i really will see you on a future making something similar with tmnt shell shocked, recovering it, or alien versus predator, making openbor remakes with playable enemies. 😍

@O Ilusionista: Thank you my savior and yes a Greness without a helmet with a mohawk is totally doable, I can try it and show you an easy face swap of the character (it could make a second costume for him).
@miguelo777 : Thanks for the kind comment. Regarding He-Man, an alternative color scheme based on Ax GA1/GA2 or Kain Grinder GA3, similar to the character, could work (I'll try it on Kain Grinder).
As for those green statues, they're abandoned prototype characters, and I had fun creating this:

Yes, it is very enjoyable to develop certain enemies and expand their range of attacks; you might even find yourself inventing a mini backstory for them.
Being able to make any character playable, offering alternative color palettes (even outfits), and having any character as an NPC ally are truly welcome features.

Many have wanted to play as Death Adder and bring some discipline to the ranks.
I confess to having a soft spot for the characters of Lizardman, Greness, and Corvette, in that order of preference.

Oh, you are gonna making them too?
I added the axe-wielding character to the PDC as "Forgotten Warrior." At the time, I did research on various websites, illustrations, manuals... no one knows the names of these characters.
The boar-headed enemy is pretty cool too.

The unknown warrior... Could be an inspiration from Rastan maybe? 🤔

The other too are cool also.

One reminds me of skeleton warriors cartoon, the pig remenbers me to star wars jaba palace...

If this can bring you certain ideas for how they can attack or move... 😉
 
Just one sugestion, if you wish, add the required openbor to the pak here.

I tried to see the last version and i tough the newer bor version will work, and no. 😢

I already downloaded others versions to make them work tomorrow. Now im on the bed trying to sleep. 😁👍

There are legends at spain very useful for create night stages.

Santa compaña or dead procession,is when you saw in a forest at night a buch of sorcerers with candles. If they see you, you will join the dead procession.

Also there are some towns where a strange light, is see at night.

Those ideas could be helpfull for create bosses using these dark magicians of ga2.

Also, create a big foot or skin walker enemy, could be cool too. 😁

Thanks @BinSushi124 for helping me partially recolor Goah (+Gilius).
I then focused on the following sprites and separated the hair colors, straps, and gold parts:

I haven't finished configuring it completely yet, but based on my initial tests, it's quite impressive on the battlefield and has no problem going toe-to-toe with the end-of-level bosses. A video of the giant in action tomorrow ;)

About the game, well, i would love to test the beta and help.

About testing, well, i been without pc like 7 years and now im trying to recover the time playing many things...

Thats why i dont know exactly how grows this engine.

But, i heard that now can have leveling into the game. Along the savegame map stage selection, it will be super cool for create something similar to enjoy the game on a special Leveling mode, as seen on castle crashers. 😁👍
 
I remenber many good developers here, and is very sad that due to stvpid fights, they was autobanned.

I remenber some problems with seep openbor, who made a very cool golden axe genesis and fighting street (street fighter 1 on beat em up).

And also bonusjz, with his awesome scripts that unlock more the openbor potencial when he released his quite impressive night slashers x.

Honestly, is a true pity they done to himself the harakiri, when they could become on an important part of this community instead. 😔
 
About the beta testing... Some bugs can appear in more hard ways to be finded.

Others can be easily finded by usual players. As when a character was too slow or to fast.

Utunnels made an increible remake, but his first version was too much fast, being too hard.

Must be a balance beetwhen speed and playability.
 
By the way guys, did you know a guy released a beta h#ck final boss version for golden axe 3?

It also planned other bosses playable, but he never released they.

The golden axe 3 final boss h#ck beta version is on a comment of the video in youtube and in archive.org i think. 🤔
 
Non related with golden axe, but did you know guys this awesome fangame of final fight pc remake by big blue front end? 🤔

It also contains all the enemies characters playable and mid air combo, can save jessica at begin (LOL) and other funny things.

I think this guy is super cool too as kimono. 😊👍
