Hi Davpreec and thanks for this gameplay video but this video is still in wip. I need to fix some magic, add some recolored characters and spawn correctly some bosses through the doors.
@yerboydraw: Thanks for your interest; can you just wait some days so I can officially release these fixes? :) I will make an open source and pak version of this game and try to offer the best compatibility with the current version of Openbor.

kimono yeah i did notice a few bugs buddy (Red dragons fire ball dont fire out of his mouth properly also bad bro's spawned to the right of the door there ment to spawn from hahaha) But still awesome work im glad your updating it :)
 
Davpreec: I will correct these problems and will send a public release this week-end.
Damon Caskey: Can you please take a look a these spritsheets? I separated the colors for Death=Adder between the skin, the armor and the weapon (there is no more black color). I will make some deeper color separation for Longmoan, Heninger and Bad Brother between their weapons, boots and skin.
Can you tell me if you already separated some colors for the Golden Axe enemies?

No, I have not. I had plans for some minor separation on Longmoan and Heninger for their weapons, but haven't done it yet. Death Adder is getting a full rework, not just color separation, but that isn't done either. Over the years I made a total mess of my GA project using it for various script experiments, and it has to be cleaned up before I can make any forward progress on production. I've done a lot of work on it recently (59 updates just this month) and am pretty close to being done with the cleanup, but I also need to do work on the engine like I promised Kratus in another thread.

Ok thank you Damon, I will make all the color separations for the enemies of Golden Axe Arcade and you can use them if you wish.
All the sprites in the game will be converted into png too, so it would be easier to transfer to your Hackjob project if you need them :) .

Edit: The colors are separated between the axe and the outfit for Strobaya:

Longmoan is still in recoloring process and I've got a good surprise for the player and a bad for him. Look at the Golden Axe japanese arcade version:

The time has come to release this Golden Axe Remake 0.1! :)

- What's new? :
- Ax Battler backward throw fixed and unused keys disabled (thanks danno for mentionning it)
- The dragons can now throw respectively firebreath and fireballs ( thanks Bloodbane for the fireball fix)
- Door spawn at town level fixed (thanks Bloodbane again for the help on the spawn coord :) )
- Longmoan, Bad Brother and Death = Adder benefit to a totally recoloration and alternative palettes
- Longmoan can be headless with a slash attack:
- Death=Adder has got now a run attack and a thrown anim

What's next? :
- Look at this hidden arcade intro:
Yes, Alex can help too! (as a npc ally character at stage 1)
- The other enemies can be decapitated too and will be fully recolored
- There's no boss at stage 2 and 4. What do you think if I add some Golden Axe 2 boss and enemies here?

I feel like Minotauros would work in Stage 2 and possibly 4 to match SEGA's official PS2 remake. Alternatively, maybe a GA3 boss could work in Stage 4 (the bearded dude, perhaps?)
 
I will add as suggested a quarter circle + attack for easier head chop later.
You can redownload the game and the Head Chop can be made only on Longmoan for the moment and with the first slash of each character (or jump and run jump attack).
 
Awesome . I just did a playthrough uploading now.I only noticed one glitch/bug on the first boss. I hit them once and they both flew off the screen and died lol. You will see what i mean when i upload the video. Awesome work buddy its great :)

Good job! I noticed when you enter pad controls, "magic" is to block, and there is no button for magic. Same here as above, the 2 bad brother from stage 1 fly away (and die of screen) when I hit them with the mount.
 
Magic is the block button + one direction. I will separate the block and the magic to avoid this kind of confusion 😉. I will take a look at the boss too, thanks for the report 😉.

Gps : Thanks for your advice ;). In this case, I will create two set: one Arcade version that finishes with Death Adder and an Extended version with the Death Bringer ending boss, some redesigned GA1 Megadrive stages and some new enemies coming from the Golden Axe serie.
 
kimono Nice work, buddy. I am just not much a fan of the decaptation move (its more how it works than the thing itself).
I always wanted to make a Golden Axe game, with some new playable characters. And if there is anyone who can do it, its you :)
