In Progress Creating a TMNT mod suggestions comments ideas?

Using Renamon by Tsunamidusher could work very well, but did you ask him if you can use his sprites?
Artists and especially Artists in the Mugen community can get realy dramatic if someone uses there creations without asking.^^
 
The base is very different sprite style thou.  Some female fighter and a wolf head and tail from another sprite could possibly work.

You would need a easy to edit base body with not much cloths you have to edit, something like Delta Red Cammy for example but in the right size, then add the Fox/wolf parts to it.
 
I don't actually need her at all, I wanted Ninjara if I get to the Mutant Animals part of the game(2nd phase of the mod) http://turtlepedia.wikia.com/wiki/Ninjara - It's not really important thou, just someone I thought could potentially be made.

Karai is more important for me at the moment thou.  There is a few sprites that could be used without editing much and just call her Karai.  But I'm open to suggestions if anyone has good ideas.

priority has to be for certain chars, and considering the workload for just one edited char (I've been doing foot soldier for a month now) I'm not even thinking about anyone else for a long time.  And now that I plan to make more attacks for turtles, they are back to WIP status too.

- Shredder (add cape etc.)
- Krang (I haven't even thought about how to do him yet)

If we don't go insane by the end of that workload, then we can consider other chars lol

Ah you want to make a complete new one and don't want to use sprites from one of her turnament fighters versions?
 
I was kind of thinking the same thing with Karai her TF sprites look like a man so I didnt want to use them either.

For Alopex cammy may be a good base for her body atleast adding a tail and head may work or you could try Bret Butler from Sailormoon just edited real quick but with a new tail, a resize, and maybe a more canine head it could work ?

That thing looks vicious!!! About the renamon sprites i reached out to the creator now im awaiting a reply but he would be credited of course non the less but thats way down the road. @beastie and @therain23  since this is in the in progress thread now maybe you could whip up a preview video of what you guys have so far to generate more interest in your mods and possibly draw the attention of people capable helping out as far new characters. Just a thought
 
Please be patient, this is going to be a very long project...

Don't really want to show whats in game at the moment, all the enemies are being replaced, there's lots of ugly stuff that won't be used anymore.  Also the Turtles are only semi-coded.  At one point I had turtles fairly coded, but besides Raph, I wasn't happy with combat, and I've kinda broke the functionality now by experimenting with new moves and sprites.  IF am going to make more new moves/sprites for the turtles, than there is not going to be any more progress in game play for a while.

Most of the work is editing sprites, for several weeks I have been working on the foot clan.  I've spent countless hours already, it's been the biggest workload so far.  Really to even attempt this was an exercise in insanity....

First I edited all the heads, this took hours and hours....
There was over a thousand sprites, the hilt and sword were separated, so then I had to assemble them all one by one.

FINALLY last night I finished putting them all together, now there is currently about 900+ sprites (more like 1400+ if you include the sprites for no sword at all), I have to finish editing a few heads, but the bulk of the sprites are done.  Once I get them in game and decide what sprites are actually being used, I will edit them all again to add the headband.

But this is just the default unarmed and sword using footclan.  I have to eventually make a bunch of custom ones too for different weapons.  :o

So any suggestions for sprites to get good ninja weapons from are welcome. ;)

Anyhow that's my update, probably not that interesting, and I still have a lot to do for them, but this is a huge milestone in progress.

esn23 made me realize the base had all the sprites I wanted, I bitched that I wanted the foot to have same moves as they do in arcade.  But this char is pretty damn close, also sprites are the perfect size, the other base I had in mind would of needed re-sizing.


Here's a few side by side comparisons to the old ones, it gives an idea how much better the mod will be now using these sprites.  Also there is way more attacks available to them now.

Bro all of that dedication and hard work is definitely paying off those sprites look amazing! Also I didnt intend to rush you guys on making a progress vid or anything it was just a suggestion for the future since its listed as in progress thats all
 
Nah it's fine, I really should start a proper WIP now.  But it takes time to do that, getting nice screens etc. and explaining the mod.  It's time I can be spending on processing sprites etc.

Thats realy impressiv work BeasTie. :o ;D

I hope you often make backups, because it woud be terrible if so much work would be gone because of a HD crash, I have seen many good projects in many communitys get lost this way.

I would suggest weapons from the Samurai Shodown games.

You could use Kyoshiro Senryo's Naginata for example, I think that Ninjas normaly not use this weapon, but the Food Soldiers from the games uses Spears if I remember it right, so if the Naginata is no option you could pretty easy make a good looking Spear out of it.


Also Earthquake is a nice example for a Kusarigama, I know that he and his weapon are way to big, but you can use his animations as a base to create your on Kusarigama sprites for food clan Ninjas by using the chain from Basaras "Chained Shuriken", he has chain sprites for every direction and you would just have to add a sickle and a weight to it.


And the Char Mina has a bow that is maybe to long but could be edited to fit.


Btw. do you have already Shuriken and Kunai sprites?

A few but I've not decided which are best. Any suggestions also welcome.  Also I want to have some variety for them for different enemies
