Alright, that's enough. Apparently this thread turned into a clown show when I wasn't looking.

Believe it or not, I do have better things to do with my life than sort out other people's online drama.

I think I have a handle on what happened. For reasons beyond my understanding - and frankly, not especially relevant - @DoubleDragons elected to turn an older post into an attack on magggas.

Let’s be clear: while magggas may no longer be welcome here, that does not make him fair game. We do not use this forum to attack current or former members of the community. That standard applies to everyone. Failure to observe it is, in fact, the reason magggas himself is gone.

The post history contains more than 30 edits. Some were benign corrections to grammar and spelling, but several completely changed the post’s topic and scope. In effect, an older post was repeatedly repurposed to stir up forum drama and advertise an external project without drawing staff attention.

Normally, a first offense like this would result in a 30 mute on the account. Given the repeated abuse of the edit function, however, I have elected to ban @DoubleDragons for 90 days.

The thread is tentatively unlocked. Further discussion here is to remain about the game. Regarding magggas himself, I neither know nor care whether any accounts elsewhere actually belong to him. He could be destitute in a ditch or making a million dollars a day from his old games - neither possibility is my business. You will have to make that call for yourselves.

On further investigation and reflection, I'm making it a lifetime ban on @DoubeDragons. Looking over past posts, account activity, and so on - I just see a whole lot of suspicious behavior and obvious sophistry going on. That's not the type of person I want here, ever.

*Edit:* And for even more mess, I got a request from the family of the user explaining their situation and requesting a full delete. The specific details are private. While I am uncertain as to the authenticity, and normally do not honor delete requests, the request was presented politely, and I think in this case removal is the best way to put everything away for good.

I can't control anyone's behavior outside of this forum, but I would ask everyone involved to let it go. It's done, it's over, they are removed.
