Not sure if it's possible (I don't understand how DNS works), but maybe it would be a good idea to look into acquiring the lavalit.com domain name (SX should still have it, no?) and getting it to redirect here.

I'd also like to get the set of smilies that were used on LavaLit - they don't seem to be anywhere else on the Internet, and they were the best smilies on any forum I've ever seen.

I suppose those are two of many things that will be cleared up when SX has time.  (Getting a few images off the server is a lot less involved than whatever is involved in transferring a domain name, though.)
 
^ Werd! I miss the old smileys too. Although there was one on the senile team forum where it's head-banging... That one was kinda awesome too. Lol!
 
This forum reminds me of lavalit when they had the dark theme i like it.

The only thing that upsets me is i used to use the forum search to find answers to most of my problems i had and now all them helpful scripts, tutorials and demos are gone  :(
 
Vyck, if the name Cavern of Creativity is long for you to say, you can call the name of that site in short, Atlas.

IIRC I think SX first found the smileys over at smileytown.com. I just found the site for similar smiley icon on Google. Actually I clicked on the image for smileys (they were used or borrowed from that site to Lavalit).

Getting a DNS rerouted is actually pretty simple; it's getting ownership of the name that can be a PITA. I assume Lavalit does and will belong to SX for some time; DNS names are typically registered 1-5 years. If SX was willing he could redirect Lavalit here until his ownership of the name expires, but that is up to him. He might be wanting to use the name for something else.

If i know Damon as much as i think i know him, the name of the forum is stone etched, so no discussion on this point  ;D

but would it be possible to have the posts black on white instead of light grey on dark grey?

I think this default theme would be better with white text instead of light gray - LavaLit (pre-2011) had white text on a dark background and it worked rather well.  I think I know how to change the text color, but I'm not going to change anything that significant in the default appearance of the site without Damon's approval.

However, I have made it so that you can select the forum theme you use when logged in from the appearance settings of your profile.  Right now, there's this theme, the default SMF 2.x theme Curve (the theme used by LavaLit from 2011-2012), and the default SMF 1.x theme Core, which looks like 2007-2011 LavaLit's theme with 2011-2012 LavaLit's colors.  I'm working on a fourth theme, which will replicate the original appearance of LavaLit.

It may take a day or so before all DNS servers get updated.
 
As you've all probably noticed, the text color is now white.  The theme of the site is a bit incongruous now, but at least it's readable.  The LavaLit lookalike theme will probably become the default when I'm finished with it.
 
I dunno I kinda liked the grey, maybe was a little too close to the bg color, but the white is too strong.  I can barely focus to read the site, but I'm getting old and my eyes are going on me.

I might darken it slightly if I can keep it readable.
 
Yeah just so it's not pure white.  Then pure white is there for titles, bold headings etc.

EDIT: I just noticed that text in code is now white too so it's unreadable.

Nice to see a new home to OpenBOR. I am a Mugen coder and I want to make some work with OpenBOR too.
On the day I decided to start...Lavalit was gone. How lucky I am :)

could be a good idea to make a front page post about the change, or people will get confused.

Welcome dude, enjoyed a lot of your mugen creations over the years I'm sure.  Don't worry all the main OpenBoR info is still online and we recovered most of the actual tutorials and reposted them here already.

You're experienced in sprites etc. already, that's the main part.  Here's the main documentation etc. you'll need thou.

oh, thank you! I am still bit confused with things (I can't even change the screen size, lol). Its hard, after 13 years of working with one engine, to change to another. I fell stupid :)

I will look on those links for the info I need, before to make questions.
