Yeah, I agree. I liked it on the screenshots, but not much in motion.

Looks like a simple beatm up to me. Yes, it has horse ride levels but probably only a few of them.

if these devs play their cards right, and do a jod job , they could eventually make an avengers-type game using the King Features IP

of course that means that Flash Gordon, Mandrake, and Lothario would each get a game of their own for an eventual 4 player adventure:

If the Pahtnom game is a period piece, then the other games too, which means Ming the merciless with in all his "problematic " glory

I would hire O ilusionista and his team, only caveat, keep the sprites the size of the phantom game's

Well that looks... meh. That's the best I can come up with. The artwork is superb but the animation looks AI generated (I'm guessing done with modeling tools like @bWWd's work).

The worst part, oddly, is just Phantom. That is the most un-interesting set of nothing I've ever seen. Even his walk is sad. Reminds me of the the old Sega arcade Spiderman. The last thing I want to think about a beat em' up character is - *I* would be doing better. I mean, seriously. I could pound this dude into last week while listening to Beautiful Mess, slurg down a protien shake and go do some bike trails. Why in the world would I want to play as someone like that?!

I don't know a lot about The Phantom as a character, and maybe it's supposed to be more grounded, but you can have realistic fighting moves that aren't a snooze inducing bore to look at. There's just no style to speak of IMO.

I actually like this, mainly the art style and animation, my biggest pet peeves in modern games is screen pollution and screen shake, for example

In this Phantom game you can actually see the violence, the screen isn't shaking all over the place, it wouldn't take a lot of work to make this game really good in my opinion, few more frames in some animations, gameplay a little faster, some more decent grapples, bit more variation in/of enemies.
