The default control keys of OpenBOR are the left hand responsible for the function, and the right hand is responsible for ↑↓←→, may I ask,

may I ask, is this key layout a tribute to a certain game console?

I haven't played many games, and I personally feel that most action games use W, S, A, D to control the direction, and the right hand is responsible for the function or mouse. Suddenly curious, I wanted to ask.

The original BOR is a tribute to console Streets of Rage series, so the arrows somewhat mimic a control pad.

Also, at one time, Arrow + Ctrl + Alt was a fairly common control scheme for PC games.

I confess I always hated the WSAD control scheme, it never felt natural to me.

We have arrow keys on the keyboard. what would be the most intuitive button to press to move your character to right: the RIGHT ARROW or D? :)

Thanks for explaining.
I had guess it was because of Streets of Rage, but I only thought of the Sega controller, and then I was confused.

Couldn't agree more, arrow is more intuitive than WSAD.
Sir, I'm not recommending WSAD, by posting this, I'm just curious about this: why is the left hand responsible for attacking and the right hand responsible for moving?

I'm a ps controller and xbox controller player, my barren gaming knowledge has always been: left hand - ↑↓←→, right hand - attack, jump, ok, cancel.
