guys, i cant stop of say this.. but this game will be A-W-E-S-O-M-E!!

or like many people say today... "shut up and take my money". ;)

spliter, casey jones, krang and shredder playable... will be awesome.
krang even can lost his robot and fight on foot. hehehe (like it was metal slug)


about weapons, take as suggestion the streets of rage remake...

bomberlink also doents wanted too that their fangame will have too many weapons and became a shoot em up....

so the way it was maked was like on cadillac and dinosaurs...

this means that sometimes, you will find weapons here and there. not too much. and they dont causes so many damage neither. where the melee attacks will cause the major damage on the game.

about the foot soldier laser gun, as you know it cames on the original tmnt 1 game hidden into the game. and can be seen on the net searching for the games sprites, or using my pro action replay codes.

so, i think will be cool can take that gun on certain levels, as technodrome etc, stolen those guns from beaten foot soldiers.
but as i said, with a limited amount of shots and damage as well.




that shop idea is splendid!...
guys, imagine a shop where you can buy cheats, more credits avaliable for play (where at start you can only continue 10 times or less), buy enemies playable, buy weapons, buy ammo or cheats (just like on the streets of rage remake shop).

demons, is not a bad idea at all!. :)



however guys, there exist an idea that i was thinking a lot this days...
the experience points!.

i love arcade games. but even adding many playable chars, once you finished the game playing with all... and you already see and obtained everything for finish all the game modes. you will completed the game and unlock eveything...


however, taking as example castle crashers for pc...
well, im playing it now since... MONTHS!!.  :o ;D

raising his 30 chars level ups, and ending the full game with a certain char in order to unlock another new character...


i means that... a level up system, as seen on castle crashers, is very interesting. and it will give to this arcade games remakes/fangames, much more hours of play.

also, if you dont wanted to make the game like that. the level up feature could be avaliable only inside an rpg mode. (unlockable too)


anyway, even when the engine as grown a lot, i think this cannot be implemented yet. isnt? :P

apart, think guys that many other games already use this...

from the nes double dragon (unlocking new moves), to knights of the round, or dungeons and dragons arcade classics.


definitivelly... it will be a really good new addon thing, into this awesome openbor 3.0 engine. ;)

sorry the double post, but theres a thing i forgot to say...

after talk with another arcade lovers, that not like specially the tmnt games, i saw that certainly, the only problem with the tmnt games are the controls. along the tremendous and unfair difficulty.


i like those games as they are. cause have many good things even wiith the bad ones.

but is truth that as many people said, the best tmnt game controls are the appeared on "tmnt hyper stone heist" genesis version.

cause that game have a wonderful response, and you can run when you want. pressing/tapping 2 times the control on the same direction.


however, on tmnt1 theres no grab... and on tmnt2 theres no double tap run neither.

so you should keep pressed the control forward in order to run. and that is frustrating!. :P


i dont know if white dragon wanted to make this remake as seen on tmnt2 arcade, or what...

but let me suggest you, to do it the more handle, with better response, and good as be possible...

where the best option, sure will be that hyper stone version moves.
and from there, ofcourse you can add there all the new moves that you wanted.



that way, you will took the best of every world. making a better game experience for every players. the tmnt games fans, and the no tmnt game fans too. ;)



and if you have some doubts about wich kind of control will be the best or favourite for the people..., take it easy, is not hard.

just release a 2 or 3 different demos with the little changes you wanted on the moves. and make a pool for people vote and decide wich work better.

and if you like 2 different ways, add they as one selectable option (if is possible do this on openbor).

that was exactly the way how bomberlink does their sorr fangame. and it will asure you reach the more quality into your game. :)

The shop idea i dont want to implement for now. Its good for games like D&D not for TMNT.
For weapons I'd like to insert them later! ;)

To run you have to press 2 times rapidly forward button in fact.
Hold forward is the old method for mame versions.

alright, after do click on the gamejolt site, i saw the date is yesterday (october first). but sometimes i dint notice you uploaded a new demo, cause i mistaken the last version i saw.    is a simple detail, but it could be very useful. ;)


apart, im still thinking of how cool could be that idea of the bikes/turtle vagon playables into one driving stage. :)

that idea could be not done on the original arcade game due to the clever game limitations...
but yes could be done in here, and sure will be something that will looking awesome.

however, the only references that you can notice for this are only this 2 games:

"alien versus predator":

theres an stage where the char cant move, is over the tank and you must fight your way shooting all the time to the aliens.

this is like a bonus stage. like on shinobi but over a tank...


metal slug 4:

another game could be metal slug 4...
theres a part on stage 1 where the other non playable character, tarma, is inside a truck helping you. and you are riding a bike firing with a pow driving the sidecar.

however, if the track receive too much damage, it appear with bullets, and it will be destroyed.

maybe mixing the 2 ideas, it could result into one very atractive road stage. where characters could ride the turtle van or the enemies bikes.


or maybe even both... do you saw "condorman" at child or "batman begins"? then you should remenber is not rare see a bike coming out of a truck...


also, for the bikes, there are 2 examples too:

the renegade sega master system bike stage, and the streets of rage remake bikes stage. along the cadillac n dinosaurs car stage. (this one could be specially very helpful for the conception of this kind of ride stages!).

im trying to remenber right now a similar thing for help you, but i dint remenber nothing.

maybe some metal slug sure, cause they have lot of vehicles stages. since submarines to else other thing rideable. hehe

as i said always, maybe older bors are limitated. but since always and specialy today, people should give a try to this awesome fangames.

another example i can say, is the fighting street by seep openbor. since i loved street fighter 1 since i was a child and this fangame.

a true pity i ended fighting with him on youtube :(
but i cannot forget that i value a lot his work, along those so many other fangames you guys made. ;)


thats why im always saying the same to the people again and again...

the last time, was with Nestor on his "con 5 duros" youtube arcade channel:
"do you love arcade games? then you definitively should give a chance to this openbor fangames!!!."

cause honestly... is incredible that some people still dont play none of this games, just because they played an old bor game many years ago... and they still thinking the bor games still are very limited. thats... WRONG!.  ;)  8)

and games like this or night slashers x, etc are the prove of it!.
 
and talking a bit more about the engine...

i would like to see how will be the openbor engine in just... 2 or 3 years...

if right now it allow a lot of contents, things and much more memory... looking at modern games, then... how could be in the future!? :)


for example: i absolutly love streets of rage remake. and it contains a lot of good details of quality. but saddly, it cant be updated... :P

so, lets we see how will be the openbor engine just in some years. knowing that today is already very good... every time more and more close to an arcade machine. :)

The version/revision is to me what suits best to identify the state of the game.
I use a revision to compliance with the arcade rom style.

Thank you very much for mentioning the games from which to take inspiration for the creation of the bonus level.
As I said, it's not too difficult to do this kind of bonus level if you already have in hand programming adapts.
The sky glider level in TMNT SS will have the exact same programming of any biker/van level.
Nothing changes!!
Now I'm engaged in designing sprites and enhance the basic script for platforms (as you can see in the video)
and to draw new sprites for me now would be impossible.
At this type of level I think far ahead.

I gonna make old level remakes (above all tmnt3) and new levels!
For the moment I have no plans 'cause to change only the elbow bands I should recolor all the sprites!  :-\
 
hi again white dragon, here are some bugs i found playing yesterday at night on the newer demo. ;)

bugs:

the sky on snowboard or fly stages going too fast!. a bit slow speed will alow you to enjoy more the scenario.
also, if you want to make a joke... put sonic crossing there, like on s3 icecap zone. hehe ;)


for some raison, after die with baxter stockman (btw, baxter is awesome!!!!) i selected the foot soldier, and everytime i change their weapons, the game will take a second...

theres a clear bug on it slowdown the game... :P

apart, this happened me sometimes before. specially after change chars.
i think theres a bug on the load of the char if you change the character during the same play. or at least, this happens with some chars combinations with the foot soldier.


and now, many others crazy suggestions that i though playing...

but i will split they on some post. cause i was writting a lot yesterday at night thinking on this awesome game. ;)

could be possible play as small robots? as for example the mousers or those flying enemies on tmnt1 arcade factory stage?

hehe. is just i love can play with else char, no matter how rare it will be. because it will change completelly the game playability.  8)



alternate modes?:

do you remenber the 80s cartoon tv series?
baxter was transformed into fly after krang decided to kill him and he fails and became a mutant fly.

well... an alternate mode will be the "baxter vengeance".
could similar to normal game, but where in the end, baxter will launch krang into a mud recipient, (like with napier becoming joker on batman). transforming krang into a giant tentacle creature, similar to that lovecraft one.

that kind of giant mutant "octopus/kraken thing"? could be done using a mix beetwhen metal slug octopus boss or better... the shuma gorath "marvel super heroes" sprites maybe? i really dont know... :P

apart, that mode could be used for unlock special chars or features for example. ;)


another similar alternate mode, can be one where you play as shredder and their badguys.

there you will make the stages on the reversed order. ending on the sewers for kill the turtles and splinter or became they into normal animals again with the retro mutagen gun... like on that cartoons episode!.


the only big problem here, is that then... is supposed that the stages will advance from right to left, at reverse!. is posible do this without too much trouble? :P

apart, the enemies for this idea obviously cant be new...


so maybe change the conversations for bosses saying something as this:

"no!, you cant kill the turtles bad guys, they are mine!. and i will take vengeance first than you".

or may be someting similar, just if you want to give a certain history for that mode without work too much on it.
 
alternate enemies?:

an easy and interesting enemy could be the evil clone turtles.
they appeared on both cartoon on some episodes, and also on the genesis game "tournament fighters".

apart, play as your dople ganger, or fight the doubles of your friends (for example: fight splinter) is always a fun thing!.

the conversation could be: "thank you for rescue me my turtles... but now, is time to die!. muhahaha"

also, in case do you fight against a friend that become mad (splinter mind controlled), there could be a way for knock down and get him dizzy. by using a stage trap.

that will require make him lose mostly of their life bar, and then became unbeatable...
so the only way to stop him, and make he will back to normal, will be send him to a trap.

something like an electricity trap for example. it will make that he lose and that recover his mind.





cartoon episodes ideas?:
------------------------------
thinking on the episodes, this will bring you many many ideas for special stages or situations... :)

for example:

1) the eye or sarnak... could bring you a giant sheredder foot, trying to stomp you.

shredder:  "why i would need any foot soldiers, when with a simple foot i can stomp you!?" ;)

this kind of stage could be like on many others games. as seen on the mazinger z genesis game). meanwhile, you should try to scape from there, fighting your way with "giant" mousers.

(in truth, the mousers will be bigger as the scenario too. since is supposed the turtles will be the tiny).

this can be done as seen on tmnt2, using that giant demilition ball on stage 1, also trying to stomp you. using a similar thing but for the sheredder giant foot.


2) "change of minds" chapter.

during this tv chapter, splinter and shredder changes his minds. so you must fight splinter with shredder at your side.

if you can use this situation fighting on a laboratory (maybe on a technodrome stage instead of a factory) ending the stage with one intro of both entering a machine and changing his mind during the fight.


that will allow that you can make the avaliable characters for the next stages will be shredder and the turtles. (meanwhile splinter and shredder can join and change his minds again. after complete another stage).


of course, this will means that there should be 2 separated modes:

1) -one with only the 4 turtles and sometimes splinter avaliable.

2) -and another mode where all the chars will be avaliable free. unlockable after completing the game once. 


also, will be awesome if you can make the game will release ONLY one new char avaliable, for every time that you will complete the game once... counting the number of times you finished it.  (well, if do this is really possible on openbor).



3) "the rat king" chapter.

i think that rat king is playable on the snes figting game, inst?

well, that char could be used for fight against you, using these rats you used on the sewer test stage. also, splinter could fight against you, being mind controlled by rat king.



4) dinosaurs?.

they appeared on the tmnt 2003 chapters and tmnt2 tutles in time...

well, i saw another tmnt2 bor remake using the cadillacs n dinosaurs dinos... velociraptors and t-rex.
thats a pretty good idea indeed for a prehistoric age stage, if you want to add some time travel there from the 2nd arcade game.


i saw even, that using the imagination, will be possible too do a jurassic park/dinocrisis bor mod too with this dinos. hehehe. ;)

a shark boss:?

on that water tmnt1 nes bomb stage, you could add a shark boss.

theres a very good one on the "sly spy" 007 arcade/mame game.

however, their die sprites bleeding are so much gore for this tmnt game... :P
so instead of die like that, he could lose his mind control device, and just scape out of the screen.


also, this remenbers me, that there are too a mutant shark on one tmnt game... i think i saw him on the snes fighting tmnt game.

because on the genesis fighting game, the water creature is "ray filled". isnt?

that ray filled by the way, can be used too for another water stage. (if you want it).

this will be useful on water stages, for not repeat the same "sly spy" mind controlled shark, or the snes mutant shark char...


water traps?:
----------------
the sewer stage have sewers doors that i see can be used as water flush traps, that you must avoid. (just as those giant balls falling down the stairs, on the tmnt1 first stage).


aliens?:
---------
the "pizza aliens" will be perfect too for be enemies on the sewer stages. just like on the old or new tv series chapters.


ramps on the snowboard stage:
--------------------------------------
i really miss there some ramps. making you will fly during a time after the jump and avoid maybe spikes traps or similars if you dont do the jump correctly.

for get the ramps, i suggess to you use the ones on the mystic warriors arcade game.


apart, i saw that snowboard stage a bit tiny. can you do it more large instead?. that will make you can move more and more enemies could appear in there.



also, during a part you would enter on a cave, where you should avoid some cristal spikes falling from the upper part of the cave.


another elements can be hole traps with spikes where you can fall down if you step. like on stage 1.

another trap element could be water ponds, that will slowdown you. making the enemies can attack you easily on those moments.


also, other traps could be giant snowballs pursuing you.

and also wood trunks. with the message "danger!, jump!" for the time when will reach your position and go across the screen.

(these trunks could be taken from the hyper stone heist stage 2, on the surf stage).


also, one special item there, may be can throw limited ninja stars, by use the attack button. limitated by a number of stars or a timer.
 
first at all, sorry for the multiple post...  :-[ but i dont wanted to make a giant post with all those ideas/suggestions i was yesterday about this game.

i tried to split it more, and learn how to publish it as an "spoiler", but i dont finded the option nowhere!... :P :(.  please, anyone can tell me how do this?

volleyball mode?:
---------------------
appeared on both "streets of rage remake" and "castle crashers", that stage 1 beach ball that you programmed, can be used easily for do a volleyball extra mode... :)

one where you should make the ball will stop at the other side of the net for get one point. and get 10 points, will means the victory.

(by the way, i hope that in case you ending doing this, you could thing on add a "p1 vs cpu" mode. for p1 can play alone too. as seen on castle crashers).



"bosses strikes back" mode:
---------------------------------
this is easy to do, but very funny and hard as a challenge.
it dependings too of the openbor memory limitations...

on the epic game "golden axe: the revenge of death adder", theres an screen full of bosses and enemies at the end. well, that screen saddly is not playable...

but is yes playable the final bonus stage appeared on the 2 awesome games: "crime fighters" and their second part, "vendetta".


on "vendetta", the bosses coming in pairs. but the more funny and crazy thing, is the "crime fighters" final bonus stage: "bosses trikes back"

on it, you must fight against ALL the bosses!!. with all or almost all they, at the same time on the screen.

they coming mixed with some normal enemies too, and some weapons are scatered around the stage for help you a bit.


the die of one boss or enemy, will make appear another more. until all was released.

the clear objective there, is survive killing all the bosses and normal enemies in the stage. avoiding too get the time over, for avoid lose a life. (wich is impossible due to the task you must do).

anyway, this bosses bonus stage is very funny, harder and challeging.


honestly, i dont know how many bosses could be at the same time in one screen with this openbor 3.0 engine...

but the idea should be put there the more the better. making appear the rest of bosses and enemies when you killed one of them.


in case you think that the chars are too big for the small size of the screen...
or they will require many memory menacing the good work of the game... then add all them in groups of 3, 4 or 5. as do you prefer.

however, notice that the more bosses, the more cool and harder challenge will be.
being this mode the oppose to the normal arcade mode that you already played. (with 2 bosses together at same time as maximun).


and demons... thats all!... LOL  :-[
of course, all those are only crazy suggestions/ideas that i though playing.

you dont are forced at all to do nothing of all that. but... in case you are searching for stage ideas, etc... there are some!. ;)

IMHO this mod already has too many game modes and gimmicks, it really needs to focus on normal 'Beat em up' stages for the core of the game.
