Hey all!

I just uploaded my first, and ongoing OpenBOR project - "Sonic's Splatterhouse".

It's a parodic horror mashup of Splatterhouse, Sonic the Hedgehog and it's infamous creepypasta, "Sonic.exe".

I'd be very eager and grateful to get some feedback on my work so far so I know what I can fix and improve as I continue development! ^^

Welcome back @AlphaBirb. I haven't personally played your project yet, but will try to at some point. I'm sure others will chime in soon. I would also recommend uploading to our Resource Manager - it has the ability to mark projects as a demo, tie them to this discussion page, and track update versions as you make progress. Uploading here is not a hard and fast rule for demos, but highly suggested and something I do require for finished modules.

Thank you!

I will certainly look into submitting my work there as well!

The game's premise as a sort of educational game, and having to match numbers, is pretty unique as a starting point. Could this be the first ever educational OpenBOR game? I have a few other suggestions, mainly about sound effects:

* Whenever Sonic hits his enemy with his quills (spin-dash, homing attack, etc) or the insta-shield, I feel like a slicing sound effect would work better than just a blunt smack.
* Maybe use the original Insta-Shield sound from Sonic 3? Maybe even the Adventure 1 jump-dash sound for his JUMPATTACK2? Maybe also use the heavier-sounding Sonic CD jump for his throw move, to show how he's exerting more effort when he throws a foe.

Good points, I'll certainly look into that! Thanks!

@MysticalMist,

You don't need to create new resources for new releases. The resource system has a way to post updated releases to an existing entry, including Demo->Full. I've updated your previous demo release to a full release and removed the duplicate. Discussion prefix changed to Complete.

If you're unsure how to post updated releases, just let us know and we'll be glad to help.

Congratulations on getting a full version out!

Thanks! My bad, I don't use this site often so I didn't know I could do that. 😅

No problem, glad to help. The system also keeps a history of all updates and changes, and which version people were looking at when they left a review. While you're here, you might want to stop in the live chat area. Might be able to get some quick feedback there.
