Hi. Everyone.
Long time no see.
I post this just wanna tell you I'm not stopping Modding... :D
And some news for  RocketViper2 fighter extinction projects...

*New characters(up to 21 in total).
*Customized select screen,title screen and game load screen.
*New stages.
*New stories.
*Downhit system added..
*New moves
*Random loading background
*Random tips shown in loading screen.
*True color(32bit) backgrounds...
*Game speed and lots of adjusts...
*A lot of more features....

I hope it will release in the early next year.

by the way when you say:

you mean rgb sprites on openbor is that possible now?? or 32bitscolors using indexed palette?

This mod looks amazing but then again i expect nothing less from you Volcanic !

if this game has a new story why not name it rocket viper 3 ?
 
Definitely looking forward to get my hands on when it's finished. I like the new BG's and screenshots as well.

OpenBor deoes not support  true color image directly.
To implement this you need to split a true color image into 3 indexed images with red ,green and blue channel.
And draw each image with alpha 1.

The story is totally rewritten.
Levels and characters are almost the same.
But I improved much details.







 
utunnels did rgb support for .gif animations split into 3 colour channels bit it would make the file 3 times bigger.  this would be a great default option for backgrounds and loading screens.
 
I dunno what to say, but wow. I love the new looks of those shots, Volcanic.

No RGB support for .png? :( Just only for .gif?

RGB .gif support is only for cut-scenes, not sprites. Even then it's more or less a "built-in" hack. There is no such thing as an RGB .gif file.

OpenBOR does not support RGB mode for .png because the only use for it would be sprites and backgrounds. RGB sprite support is pointless; to explain why would make this a TL;DR post. Besides, if you want it bad enough you can stack sprites to make RGB anyway using the same technique Volcanic is applying to stages.

We could and may eventually support RGB .png for backgrounds and panels - but given the rarity of need and the fact a reasonably simple workaround exists, it's not on the front burner.

This game is really fantastic :D
All is really beautifull ... the stage where you fight and see you on top on the big TV screen ... so excellent !

For me the only problem were chineese every where ... impossible to understand fine the story and the menu are hard to use :(

That i like on this mod like other you made @volcanic is the help screen we can watch during we play the game !
It is really cool, and i don't understand why all the last modern mods don't use it :(

But I need some time to translate the rewritten story...
