Repository Takedown

Hey all, just an FYI, I have elected to take my personal OpenBOR related repositories and materials private.

My original intentions for placing these materials into public domain was several fold:
  1. Provide some fundamental building blocks you could use for your own projects.
  2. Proof of concept when I post in threads about this or that functionality. I.e. "Yes it can be done, because I worked it out years ago and here's how...."
  3. Incremental backups for my own use.
I only asked the following in return:
  1. Credit me for the code, and even that wasn't really a hard stance.
  2. Pay attention to the directions I provide. If you don't understand something, ask me instead of going to PMs or another venue and making assumptions.
  3. Understand that most of the materials are works in progress. Any limits or bugs are due to design choice or unfinished code and should not reflect on the OpenBOR engine.
Instead, it's come to my attention that for quite some time my repositories are misused in a variety of ways. What sent me over the edge was a PM on Instagram from someone I never heard of accusing me of stealing my own code. Less egregious but just as frustrating are the tons of assumptions made about said repositories and by extension the OpenBOR engine due to completely ignoring my warnings they are WORKS IN PROGRESS, and not even the latest versions. It's also rather disheartening to see my stuff used for projects while some of the same people accuse me of being a small-time bully who contributes nothing. AFAIK, most of them aren't even part of the Chronocrash community.

Obviously I can't do anything about copies already made, but moving forward, I'm not allowing any further access. When I consider a repository ready for public consumption, I will make it available as a package here in the forum resources area. Sorry for any inconvenience. I debated posting about it, but I thought it fair to let anyone know who is linking to or following my work.
