Canceled Power Rangers Zeo: Beats of Power 2

Project is halted prior to completion and will not receive further updates.
That vid is extremely awesome!!! I like the Ranger transformation, even throwing the enemy to the camera.. Hahahhh! ;D Thumbs up! Keep it coming! I'd like to see more if you have any. I'll be waiting for more updates from you. One of my most anticipating mods I'm seeing.
 
Impressive work so far mersox.  I previously ripped the music from the Zeo Pinball game, would you like it?  There's some good tracks that I think would work well.

Oh yeah, absolutely! Thank you for the offer. It never cossed my mind to use the music from that game until you mentioned it. I checked some gameplay videos on Youtube and was impressed at how awesome that soundtrack seems to be. So yes I am interested, thanks!

First I wanna congratulate you for the Beats of Power, its one of the best openBOR games that I ever played.

Now I wanna talk about the game of this post, the Beats of Power 2.
I'll be sincere with you I didn't like it. I was writing in this text something to make you desist of this project, but I though better and came an idea.

The game Power Rangers Beats of Power was successfull because you used the old sprites of the classic versions video games and the because the cartoon factor. If you look well, the Power Rangers games in 3d aren't good games.

But I looked better this game and I think that he can bring good things to the openBOR world, like this 2.5D factor and other things.

So I have a propost: What do you think in keeping making this game but with a spin-off name? And make the Beats of Power series in cartoon? So you can make a new Mighty Morphin game or other with cartoon graphic for the Beats of Power series and the others will be a spinf off.

And the Mighty Morphin is big, its possible make a sequence of him. That are a diversity of teams (Ninja rangers, the three seasons, side characters, etc.)

I really like that the series became legendary to the point of Bandai jealous when comparing with the shit they do hehehe

What do you think?

Makes a lot of sense and truth be told I have thought of it. I hesitated at first to name it Beats of Power 2 because I am well aware that it's not the game that players were expecting. With the change of graphic style and the switch to Zeo I anticipated way more people jumping ship. I am pleasantly surprised to see there's actually some interest in this Zeo game.

However just thinking of making a 16 bit styled sequel, and based on MMPR again... that's something that does not interest me at this point in time. And to make a fan project like this you need drive. And time! I am working on two separate mods and have a very exhausting real life.

That been said, what I would like to do at some point is re-release the first game with 4 player support and some minor tweaks here and there.

TBH i actually didn't like the original beats of power as much as I wanted due to lack of moves, combos and juggling. It had a lot of polish though and can tell it was a passion project.

But this second game looks to fix a lot of my gripes and the live action sprites look amazing, trust me when I say I know how hard this is to make.... Actually this would be the hardest game to make in the history of Openbor as he has to dig through episodes to get screen grabs and there is no chance in hell he will get all the required animations and will have to photoshop a lot of these to make them work.

using cartoon sprites would just make this feel generic. People who don't make games have all these wild ideas and suggestions but fail to realise what it takes to make it a reality. Keep on doing what you are doing cos you have a lot of keen fans ready to test this game

Thank you very much nsw25 . Also this time there will be some minor differences between the characters. I am giving Kat a slower attack combo, that she compensates by throwing hadokens when in Ranger mode. Jason will be stronger but have a bit less of health.

P.S.: I still don't know what juggling is.

juggling is hitting enemies whilst they are in the air (add bboxs to there fall animations, and make attacks have pop up moves with dropv etc)

He does the kick at 0:50. He can't have riseattacks bc I programmed it so he can't fall down.

I thought that was what juggling meant but wasn't sure. I confess I have disabled that some times as it can make the game too easy, plus it tends to look like a bug/oversight on the part of programmers.
