Power Rangers It's Morphin' Time

In Progress Power Rangers: it's morphing time! 1.0

The project is currently under development.
Particularly if these characters are different archetypes. and have unmorphed versions as well ^^
They will have unmorphed versions for sure. But there will be some issues: the Red Ranger Zeo is Tommy (the original Green Ranger) and the Gold Ranger is Jason (the original Red Ranger)

Someone made a hack of the SNES game where you can play with the Zeo rangers, and you will see what I am talking about:

Poll time: Should we add some characters from the Zeo series to the game?

King Mondo, I don't think you should mix Rangers from different seasons, Zeo was rubbish too. It will affect the quality of Mighty Morphing in my opinion. If Zeo was worth anything you could make a standalone game of it but it will be terrible.

As a sentai fan, i think all you have packed already is enough. You could make standalone versions with other chars if you want to expand your universe later on.

@danno @Soichi Isurugi thanks for your inputs :)
To be honest, I don't think I've ever watched an episode of the Zeo series (I must have caught a glimpse while my younger brother watched it).

I haven't discussed the details with the producer yet, but my idea initially would be to have these rangers as a bonus, unlocked after finishing the game and not in the main game, so as not to interfere with the story (we are following the story of the series).

So it would be an extra mode. A separate game is out of the question, due to the work it would require.

That's what I assumed, separate unlockable characters with their own unique animations and weapons / powers. Not a reskin of current characters like Tommy and Jason. This might throw off the balance of the game, so a separate mode sounds right.

The later seasons of power rangers like zeo and turbo weren't as popular but they did have interesting weapons, zords, and allies. These probably deserve their own game to be fully appreciated but a small taste in the Mighty Morphin game would be just fine I think.

Progress report:
  • Fixed all Jason sprites (wrong shoes and face)
  • Fixed a loop bug on the select screen for all players. Since I've added a slide animation, I had set the wrong loop for all players, but now its fixed for all players
  • I've found a way to avoid the little hiccup when loading a random sound, like when Putties are knocked down or the rangers uses their weapons (more noticiable if you run the game on a external drive like me). This thing alone costed me hours of work.
  • A bit of Strong Putty and the new stage

Looking good buddy, two things you should revise a little bit, Zacks mouth when he morphs and says ''Mastodon" the first/last frames have some line issues around the lips that really breaks the immersion and the foreground fence as it scrolls with the player through Z gives the feeling of being on a boat.

Also something cool I'd like to see in game, If there is two players or more and you both decide to morph around the same time can we get a cooler looking morph? maybe some explosions? get those pyrotechnics on display.

I am aware about this - I forgot to change the Zratio of the fglayer.
I was even considering changing the zratio of the buildings on the back - what do you think?
