I private messaged an OpenBOR Developer about this and was told I should state my dilemma within the forums instead. I am having an issue getting my wii to see pak files, within the pak folder from my western digital 500 GB passport external drive. I have the latest version of OpenBOR installed (OpenBOR v3.0 Build 4086) in usb:/apps/OpenBor. Paks are installed in usb:/apps/openbor/paks When I run OpenBOR in Homebrew channel, it states that there are no mods in paks folder. Which isn't true. I have about 10 pak files, mostly older compatible mods like "beats of rage remix" and "rage of the streets".

The mod paks work fine from sd card but not usb. I have also made sure that OpenBOR was ran specifically from usb device, inside homebrew channel (Pressing 1 on the wii remote I think and selecting it.) Anyone who owns a wii and plays openbor from there, have you ever ran into this issue before? If yes, do you know how I can correct this issue? If no, just state that you do not know or better yet do not reply at all in this thread, sorry for clogging up the forums and thank you for your time in advance.

Is the guy you're asking for is Plombo? He's the one who chiefly maintains the Wii port.

For the path, i say that  you did place the mods properly. Can't say much aside from that, not only that I don't have the Wii, but also I don't have understanding on how the code for the port worked.

PS @ Plombo: Does this something to do with initDirPath in the wiiport.c?

Welcome to the forum! It is always better to post questions here for several reasons. The biggies are that you're more likely to get an answer, and that once you do get an answer it's out there as a knowledge base for anyone else who might have a similar problem. It also makes this place much easier to manage. Don't even worry about asking questions here - this is where they belong.

Anyway, unfortunately the Wii is a port as stated above, and it's more or less Plombo's pet project - the rest of us have little to do with it. He's good about chiming in to help though, so give it just a bit and we'll get you going.

I will say this. Plombo did attempt to answer my question and I already did what he stated beforehand (He obviously didn't or doesn't know this yet, until he reads my reply pm.) I just didn't want to throw his name out in public, to make it seem like I was criticizing him or throwing him under the bus for any reason, but did feel some type of way about him saying, "you shouldn't PM a Developer"  like I was harassing him or something.

Thank you,  Damon Caskey for explaining why, I think Plombo said it would of been best to start in here, instead of PM'ing him first. My apologies to Plombo for my own ignorance (Better yet, Misunderstanding.)

What he said, I should do, is make sure I put the mod paks in usb:/apps/openbor/paks folder (Which I did) and then make sure to run OpenBOR in homebrew channel from the usb device which I also did, but then I get an error stating no mods in paks folder, then a code dump of course. Now when I put these same paks in OpenBOR on an SD Card it works fine. I just don't have enough space to put multiple games on my SD Card. Sorry for typing my life story as well.
