OpenBor crashing due to too many PAK files

As the thread states, I have about 300 OpenBor paks. When I try to launch it inside retroarch or the android apk, it crashes. If I limit the paks folder to around 10 or 15 files/games it loads fine.

Does anyone have a build that doesn't do this? I really need the APK download for a version that can handle having a LOT of games. It's too tedious to move files in and out all the time to play these games.

If i where you i would find out if you can run different version of openbor on retroarch

Some games require a very specific version of the engine to work 100% bug free,

Example: Tmnt rescue palooza uses an old version of Openbor that probably can't get a proper port because the source code for that old version of the engine is not on the Github - as far as i know -,
as for its proper APK, maybe the author or his helpers build an APK before the source code was put away, so for that particular game , you need that version.

recently made a list featuring 15 multiplayer games from our resources section, and their corresponding engines, but some engines dont seem to have a source code , so that means no apk...

About your question, keep in mind OpenBOR is NOT an emulator, where you throw tons of games on a folder to run. It's an engine, and works like most engines out there, like Unity, Godot, etc. Plus, some games were developed using a specific build and any try to run then on newer or older builds will have issues or even doesn't run at all.

the thing is , games can boot and display, but some games will have problems on their game-play

here are some of my experiences:
from enemies that may do very little , to enemies very easy to beat & enemies barely attacking
to grapples not working, getting stuck to characters after a grab, enemies teleporting to the top of some areas
or some levels getting either frozen or the engine crashing....

if you are a good friend to the devs making those ports, ONe version of the engine will not be able to run all games perfectly.

lists will have to be made and different compilations are most likely needed if the apks are customized for retroarch in comparison to the android apk's already available.........

on a recent misadventure for the Dolphin emulator -for best compatibility, this had to be done:

lets say you get 3 different apks of Openbor (in the case of dolphin they are called .dol)

i renamed the engines like this:
4357.dol
5436.dol
6391.dol

and renamed the games something like this

4537DynamiteDukeX
4537TmnTvsBattletoads
4537RonaldVsMisteryMeats
5436Heman
5436Splatterhouse-4
6391NightBashers
6391NoidMassacre


on dolphin, i click and run 6391, and thus you only choose 6391 games...
