Good afternoon everybody.
A few years ago I had a disagreement with Ilusionista about why some Openbor developers, like Magggas, were so upset about hacks of their creations. I couldn't understand why until I saw games like "Final Fight LNS" and "Beat em up Ultimate alliance".

These games have a lot of poorly standardized characters, with sprites and animations that don't match each other. It's practically Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V.

When I launched that vanilla hack from Final Fight, which I didn't put into the game, I was learning Openbor and wanted the game for my personal enjoyment. I run on my Nintendo WII to this day.

If I offended Pierwolf, I apologize and I'm sorry that he lost the desire to create more games.

I see so many members hacking up great mods which is cool if you have the skill to improve what's already been created but 99% of people doing this don't have the skill and want to act like they are apart of the original game creating process, I really hate members like this, ass kissing modders of great games pretending to ''help'' when in reality they are just jumping on the backs of great creators.

Sure I've edited some mods and added mechanics I think work better but I keep it privately stored on my computer, I would never dare edit a game by Mr Q, Pierwolf or magggas call it Rainbow edition and publicly release it, that destroys all the hard work of the original modders, sure nobody owns anything but at least allow a grace period of a year or 2, If people made mods of streets of rage 4 so soon it's just distasteful. Some of the stuff I see being "added" to SOR2x by Kratus is straight trash but he doesn't seem to mind people adding crap to his game, some modders don't mind and that's ok but respect modders that don't want you ruining their hard work so soon after release, that being said when O ilu's avengers game is released I'm gonna add super mario and luigi as the final boss.
 
As I usually say, everyone makes mistakes. But the difference is learning from them.

I don't want to get into a long discussion, but there are things that you only come to understand when you are "on the other side", that is, when you start to do your thing, to understand the work it does and how bad it is .

Especially when someone practically takes someone else's entire game, changes things and says he made the game - often not even giving credit to the work of others.

I can't speak for him, but as far as I know, unfortunately Pierwolf won't be back anytime soon. If he comes back.

I wanted everyone to have the insight you had, Sergio. The community would be much better.
 
@sergiomousa: I'm the kind of person that is always open to share ideas and I think that the better thing to is contacting the authors and discuss with them.
For me, it's the better way to proceed and always respect their choices. The latest project of Pierwolf looks so promising but sadly he lost the passion of making for a certain period and I don't know if he will come back:

Oh you will do that? Why not adding Tiny Toons in my Barbarian game? ;) I think that I will paxplode your Robocop mod and make him fight against robot unicorns :p.
 
It would be a shame if Kratus gave up on SOR 2X because someone decided to put Terry Bogard with totally mismatched sprites and have it released as a "Special Edition". Games like this and so many others can be perceived to be above good quality. I have them working flawlessly on my Sega Genesis Mini.

My only hope is for the current developers to don't give up for the good of the community.

In addition, I always said that I'm ok with small changes for fun and private use, same as the SORR Maker does. The suggestions of some friends like Blaze Rhodon, Kimono or Pepodmc helped me to improve the official game.
Don't worry buddy, I will not give up on SOR2X :)

I understand your point buddy, but if the author is using SOR2X to add small things same as SORR Maker does, I'm ok with that. The problem is when the author make changes in the entire game and label it as a new "improved super plus turbo" version  ;D ;D ;D
 
Oh nice one, a mutant chicken exists in Barbarian, maybye I will add it as a joke character 🐔 😊. Beware, Robocop can have soon a rainbow update 😉.
