Multiverse Meltdown

The project is currently under development.
Got enough material done so I'm posting some. First up I've finished Predator Hunter. I thought it would be interesting to see him fight without his blade staff as I call it, but it's still used for 2 of his freespecials.




I had planned on being done with this update with him, but I decided to add one more, Samurai Shodown's Hanzo. Most of his animations are done but his special attacks still need there efx, and his special specifically needs a script cause it involves him jumping high and diving back down.



Edit: Damn, forgot all about Luke Cage, lol. He's all done to.

DJ....I love ya bro!!! You added one of my favorite characters and my boy Hattori Hanzo. Now I definitely want to play your game whenever you finalized it.

I'm not even aware of who the author is for Luke. Figured I'll track them down later or take it down if I were asked to, I had a lot planned so I wanted get in the characters I wanted the most. This project, or at least the ones Cage and some of the other edits are for(Sonic, Spawn, Scarlet Spider), wont be finished for a long time, so if there was any reason I couldn't get in touch with anyone they would still be credited.

EDIT:
Went ahead and researched the author since I wont be doing much work today. I think the guy's name is Arkady, and apparently this Cage of his is an old W.I.P. he was quitting according to this post. Tracking him down would obviously be the next step.

Getting permission is definitely preferable, but IMO if you can't track the guy down, just give him a shout out in the credits or something. I have great respect for people who make custom sprites, but I don't think there's necessarily a reasonable expectation of direct authorization for every use. If it's out on the internet, it's out on the internet, you know? And the lack of permission never really stopped us before; none of us here emailed Capcom, Sega, Nintendo, etc to see if it was OK to use sprites and music.

'Sides, you're bringing their creation to life by using it. Otherwise it's just a .PNG like any other.
 
I actually share your sentiments, though some effort would be made to contact any others of custom sprites I use in the future, but like I said, a full game is far off so I don't think it would be that big of an issue at the moment, and I doubt anyone thinks I made the sprites myself nor do I try to make anyone think that. On top of that, I don't even know if the sprites were made by the Mugen author or someone they contacted. A Tweet was made about this mod after SAGE and someone assumed Throttle from Biker Mice was ripped from Mugen when I requested to have those made, and I actually did credit the guy for it on the it's page, lol.

In any case, I think what I'll do is keep a list of any characters with custom sprites I use with the authors names, then contact them later on.

Wait, so you commission people to make sprites? There's a wealth of characters I'd love in MegaMan style... hmm.

On the topic at hand, I read a few pages back and saw some screenshots you posted. Nice job, DJ! It's looking real polished up!

Yeah, there's a few but it's been harder to keep hold of my money lately due to real life s**t.

Well, I got Hanzo done, and since I hadn't posted many shots of him, here's one of his special attack(I forgot I already had a jump script to make him dive for this attack, lol). Also, I don't know if anyone else has done this, but his attack where he shoots a bouncing fireball by punching the ground had a problem with it's hit flash not being positioned right, so I took off the flash and made it a Follow animation. Fixed it easily, and offers better control then hitflash, of course the fireball was set to nomove 1 and I used move# for motion. Maybe something to think about.


With Hanzo out of the way and him being the last planned char for this update, here's a new upload of SUB.

Just to get some work done, I've already started 2 of the next chars for the next update, my 2 favorite fighters from Galaxy Fight, G.Done and Gunter. There's another 4 coming to, and after them, I plan for the next update to have something of an Adventure mode like in Sega Brawlers.

The link works. And... six new characters and a campaign mode seems to be a good idea. I also concur with liking Gunther. I wonder when the rest of Cosmic Damage will re-appear in the game?
