Complete Marvel First Alliance 2 [Release]

Project is completed.
blade has discoloration in his face like a red/orange...also does he throw a glaive or ninja weapon in this version...because all he does is slices.
 
i forgot his second attack, didnt found a cool glaive like he uses at movies, all i found as ninja stars, on next version i will try edit something for him.
i was looking for something like this:

Anyway, here are some feedback. Here comes the Wall of Text :)

What I liked:
- The updated version is way better than the previous one. The little invencible time when the the characters rises from the ground brought the gameplay into a new level, because you can now rise safely without get punished every single time (for example, to fall near Doc Octpus was certain death)

- All the updated chars now plays more solid, you can control and attack them better. Hawkeye is a clear example.

- Iceman is one of my favorites, along with Black Panther & Angel. He can control the area perfectly, and his beam works very well. Too bad he doesn't have a radio support :(

- The more frequent life and power itens (and radio) was a good choice.

- Its me or...there are hidden objects that can be hittable? I won't spoil the suprise saying WHERE, but I manage to hit something invisible and I got an extra life.

- Strong Guy vs Jugernaut was a good fight.

- Angel's iron feathers are way better now.

What I don't liked
- The only bad point in Angel is his runattack. Since he comes flying toward the enemy, he can't lose his momentum (his velocity). Remember of Inertia? He should slide a little bit while moving.

- It seams to have a blind spot in Hawkeye's attacks. He chooses from arrows or punches based on enemies positions, right? But there is a small area between both cases where he uses punches but it doesn't hits the enemy.

- Vision's jump-and-dive move should be quicker when he increases his density, because his weight increases too.

- In the stage where you fight 2 giant sentinels, you should add a time item. Since there is no WAIT on the stage, the time runs out very easily.

Suggestions
- Iceman could have a radio NPC: Firestar, since both worked together with Spiderman in some series, and you already have Firestar sprites (from the same game you got Cloak).

- You could add a version info at the title screen, kinda like I did in my mod. Get the code at the updated.c from my mod.

Also Z you still don't enabled save for Hard Mode since when I load from my save it crashed.

And I agree with O to give Iceman a radio support and having Firestar would be a great addition to the game as a radio support npc.

 
I know that LOL!! what i'm saying is that we like to go back and continue from the previous save on hard mode which some people might like to but its only minor though.
 
Yeah, I reloaded the game 3 times before checking Iceman's Leadership stat. "Where's my kitty??"
I was sure he would call her. I also like suggestion of him calling Firestar. She's an X-Men on current X-comics, and has great rapport with Iceman, but I could vote for Kitty as well - they were dating for some time. 

About MARVEL helpers, I'll repeat what I said to Ilusionista: they need to be on screen for longer time - you want to be marveled by their presence! Have them come in slowly, attack and stay a little before going away - Xavier does this very well.

Also, you've chosen a weird pose for Dagger! LOL

By the way, I think you need to call it just "marvel first alliance". Not "2". Just put a small version number under the title and it's good. I recently sent the game to a friend but he wanted to play the "first" one first... :P

PS: just noticed you named Viper "madamE Hydra" on Boss fight... ;)

now serious, since dont make sence play MFA 1, looks like call it just MFA is a good ideia....
on next release i could call it MFA and put a version 3.xxx on released threads only
 
yeah cloak could stay on longer, can't tell if he attacks or not.

and yeah I felt the same about angel's dash attack, it seem like he would fly foward like winter soldier or dark hawk or she hulk's dash attack

she hulk and maybe all brawlers/fighters/tanks should have grab attack

iron fist could use a different dash attack...would be cool if it was feilongs dragon kick...idk he almost feels under powered compared to the rest of the roster

maybe a future update would be for hulk, based on his combo he gets angrier and does a little more damage with a green aura idk

do chars with healing only heal thr red bar?

next update bosses should get powers or something more unique...not all but cyber for example could use a claw slash that does something

thor, vision, and punisher (but damn why he loses his npc weapon so easily) plays really well now

Cloak could black the whole screen for 1 or 2 seconds before Dagger appears and light things up.

Bug report: Magneto's freeze pallet is his black and red uniform (movie?).

Well, Iceman is really fun to play with. You can combo and chain specials together. His ice bridge can be spammed  (kinda cheesy but cool ;) ), and if you push buttons too fast he gets stuck in air. Nothing major, just pointing it out. His sprites could use some editing. Some animation seem to be missing frames, while others (like duck) need to be properly cleaned up. But all things considered, it's not so bad.

Darkhawk at first seemed too good - he is fast and can jump far! Then I realized his small range and a couple of times I had problems with his run attack not hitting some enemies (can't remember where), so I guess he's balanced. His claw is nice too. I think you could improve his fly animation - actually, the lack of it. It feels like he just froze in the air. Also, I wanted to glide down and rise upwards, hitting all enemies on my path. :D

Speaking of gliding... did you try to recolor Archangel's wing to make them look like his original white feathers instead of metal? I won't make sense, of course but...  :P

I also really like Wasp's update. Her increased range made her take Cable's place in the "shooter" department. hehehe. But unlike Cable, her shots are all too similar. Maybe some of the "pew pew pew"s could be larger or wider, or shot diagonally (very slightly), or from a different height, or whatever (I'm thinking use "shumps" for inspiration here). She could also shoot down while jumping.
But one thing I really thought would make sense for her is dodge instead of block, like Nightcrawler. Push Block and she "backflips". Her DF+A special would become F+B, like Nightcrawler/Psylocke's teleport.

Hmmm... guess for now I should focus on finding bugs, and not giving suggestions. Sorry :)
 
More feedback:

- Shocker is just too easy. I was able to kill him with just two combos, since you can keep hitting him when he is airborne

- Bushwacker is just too easy too. His attack is too slow (so you can hit him before he ever shoots), and his missile is too slow to hit someone. The shooters with him are way dangerous, for example.

- And man..Kingpin is not Kingpin. In the comics, Kingpin is a very skilled martial artist, and fight many martial artists with just his underwear

Too easy, too hard, potayto, potahto. It may depend on who you are playing with. Buy I agree, some enemies and sub bosses I could just juggle them in a corner till they die. Felt very cheap.

I think Zvitor wanted kingpin's strength to be on his minions. To show he's a big crime lord and all. But perhaps you are right and he could use new moves.
 
Played it and it's amazing I like it a lot.
But there's one character I played I notice that the jump is so short it can't jump a hole in the ground. Juggernaut if I remeber.

 
Can't select Iceman or Darkhawk on Asgard (though they display just fine on select screen).

On some special modes (can't remember which, I think it's Cap&Avengers), the Marvel icon does not display on HUD.

Cyclops should have Power 3 or more - definetely not just 2 (that's Emma!). And, though it pains me to gimp my favorite chars, I think Jean may be too strong - as much as I try, I can't call her Phoenix ;)

This is just a sugestion...

I think I'm the one bothered with it, but I still enforce that Daredevil and Rogue need new walking animation. A player character walking that way seems cheesy in any beat'em up.
The walking animation when the character  "crawls " the feet (for example the Y Signal punk walking animation from SOR series)
never works well to a playable character.
Every time I see it in a mod it always feel like someone take a enemy and put him in the playable characters list by force.

I never play Golden Axe myth with Tyris flare just the first time for completion then never choose her again 'cause her walking animation sucks, even that game being so f***king amazing in almost every little point.
It's just my opinion...

downloading 2.71 to play  ;)

- juggernault can jump all holes, [run + jump] or [jump + attack] or [run + jump + attack] if you want to be sure, same to colossus
- i see, but im fine with this walks, is not something which hurt my eyes, Thor had it too, but Maru did a new one for him.... if him or someone else are up to fix this ones too i will be happy.

[ice and hawk on asgard]damn, i thought 2.71 was final.... but this are a bit serious bug, 2.72 coming tonite.
also because at other forum a guy was killed by silver surfer at space stage, lol, he uses same dr.doom beam, so friendly fired him

about HUD is something about layers, its like HUD are behind map, im not sure if i will fix it to 2.72
im working on other project and im not up to change focus right now.

@Ilu, i never saw kingpin like a fighter, my favorite are from Modern Bendis era.


so far more negatives then positive feedbacks about friendfly fire + versus,
if i keep it, i will make versus like replay mode, where you will choice a map to fight.

 
nah emma wouldnt be a 1 for some reasons.  She is in her gen x phase where she was teaching mutants how to fight.  By then she knows hand to hand combat.  Also you have chars like jubilee who in the 90s was a student and was teh tag along char so she would for sure be stronger than her :P
