Lowtax, the founder of Something Awful, has died. Something Awful was a website that shaped the 2000s internet for better or for worse with things like "Photoshop Phriday" and various articles. Cracked before Cracked was a website. It also was the website that introduce the Danganronpa franchise to English-speaking audiences. This is the end of an era for the internet, and he will be missed by many.

I'd never even heard of him until now, but the Something Awful forum is exactly the type place I do everything in my power to prevent ChronoCrash from becoming.

I also noticed at the moment there are no credible sources at all that Mr. Kyanaka is actually deceased, but there are plenty that mention a history of domestic abuse and generally disreputable behavior.

Whatever the case may be, he's obviously a very controversial figure and I'm tempted to lock this thread right now, but we'll try leaving it open for the time being. Just remember if you have something to say that you do so within the ChronoCrash guidelines of respect.

but i really like how people like Lowtax enable it to become a force of nature of sorts that you can observe, study & experiment with - and have fun at the same time.
