Looking For TMNT Rescue Palooza Fixed Or Lited Version

Like the title, i'm search for TMNT Rescue Palooza other than windows version or maybe a lite version, because i try all-in web download version it's all the same always error on rooftop, streets, etc and can't go-in, i see a snes mini version in youtube but no download link in there, and i saw some old post version in here about lite fixed version but link is death, can somebody kind enough to gimme the working version for my anbernic device or lite version of this game? I really want to play this but i don't have a PC (for a moment), thanks in advanced and best regards

Yeah... sorry friend. Happy to have you here at the community, but I'm afraid there's no such animal. If there is, it's a hack the creator (@mersox) didn't authorize or want, and we're not in the business of overriding their wishes.

IIRC @msmalik681 was working on a cut down version, but AFAIK he never got permission from @mersox to complete and release it. Maybe they can chime in with some news.

Yea... because a few week ago i try to request in his youtube about fixed version of rescue palooza and till now still didn'•t get answer... hmm okay then maybe i will got dissapoint this time, i hope someone make TMNT game like rescue palooza with hundred playable characters, thanks for answering my questions, i appreciate that

Stick around the community, cause you never know. @mersox tends to come and go, but he is a great creator and a really nice guy. If you catch him, I'm sure at the least he can offer you a definitive answer.

out of the great respect I have by Mersox, I really wish this never happens - unless he made this himself. Although his game already have 60 playable characters.

I really don't want to lose another great coder because people wants game with thousand of characters - most of time, mixing stuff that doesn't even match together.
Because this would destroy one of the great things on his works - they looks official, not a random fan made thing.

I can count on my hands - and I would use only one - OpenBOR games which huge rosters that are actually good.

Don't get me wrong: it's not something personally against you. I just have a high respect for the original author, which is a good friend.
 
Hi all.

@DCurrent and @O Ilusionista are correct, there's no official "light" version of the game. The light version of Rescue Palooza was an idea of @msmalik681. He worked hard cleaning un the mess that is the coding of the game, and taking steps to make it less memory demanding. However, these updates resulted in numerous other game-breaking issues that neither of us have fixed to this day. To be honest, I have no current plans to work on a light version Rescue Palooza, as it's not a priority for me.

Between today and tomorrow I'll upload a new version to Gamejolt, that adds minor changes to the way those stages (rooftop and such) are accessed (along with some promotion for my other games, ha). As usual, I'm not recommending to play the game on any build of openbor other than one I'm including in the download. But maybe take a look at it, just in case?

This actually is a problem with openbor, the pc ports can continue running if there are any errors but the other ports have a zero tolerance for errors and it will cause then to shut down.

Guess I will try again @mersox its been years, can I release a "unoffical hack" of this game and ask you look the other way ?

Maybe @DCurrent or @Plombo can correct me, but as far as I know, this isn't true.

I dunno how OpenBOR Linux handles some quirks of Linux, like the case sensitive paths, but I dunno this is the case here.
 
Yeah - I'm a little miffed at calling the engine catching your mistakes a problem. Way back in the day, the engine wouldn't tolerate much of anything. One miscue of any sort and it's back to desktop for you. Over the years, we've tried to make it tolerant as possible within reason. Using default fall backs, writing errors to log but not shutting down unless necessary, and so on.

Of course some errors can't be ignored because they would cause an actual crash downstream (usually a segfault), or wouldn't logically allow games to continue. Then you wouldn't get an error at all. Just an unfriendly, instant shutdown by the OS. I can only assume certain other platforms have quirks of their own that make errors the PC can tolerate impossible to ignore for similar reasons (segfault, etc.).

Just as a example if there is a invalid path to a remap or just random uncommented text in a entity file on a pc port (windows, linux and maybe mac) it will continue but for android or wii ect it will shutdown and rescure palooza had a ton of these errors well they were actually in the log as warnings.

ah no, it won't continue. In fact, its one of the very cases of silent crash (at least, in windows) - I can't remember in which version it started, but at least in V3, if you point to a non existent palette, the engine simply closes and writes nothing on the log. And its up to you to guess what happened.

That is the sole reason I asked Piccolo to include a tool for checking orfan files in CMT :)

Test on Anbernic RG353V Android Side and The Rooftop is WORKING, Thanks to @mersox for the fix, for 2 years i after the game finally can play, later will try on LINUX side and will post the results, Thank You, Thank You Very Much With Great Great Respect
