Like Bloodbane said, BonusJZ has never released his Golden Axe mod. I'm not sure whether he's working on it or he cancelled it already. Or probably he's taking a break from it.

I never played it, but I would say the yellow one seems to be taken from Dungeon Fighter Online (or a game from this series)
Doesn't seems "oldschool" to me.

By looking at this video again, I would say, re-creating this game would not be a big deal.
The system doesn't looks special or something. Basically it's a very regular mod. But a very beautiful one.
No special skills needed to recreate it.

All you need is:
-A LOT of time.
-Collecting the needed sprites (a lot of them are already ripped)

I have more than 15 game projects in my mind (just for openbor)
I slightly started one of them.
If I actually had more time for coding, I would help making this game.
I think in 3-4 months it would be completed if 2 or 3 fast coders worked on it.

If you don't code with Openbor.
You can start learning the basics and make a similar game yourself.
I think in less than one year the game could be released.completed
